I hope we can organize a race like this here in the Philippines. We only have road races and some trail ultramarathons but not like fell races, which I think is faster, more exciting and challenging. Great video! I hope someday I can visit your country and join one of the fell races.
Great stuff Andy! Some treacherous stuff to contend with which comes across beautifully full screen - really felt for the person diving into the ditch head first!
Hi Andy hopefully you will remember me from when we were keen to beat each other on the hills up in Scotland . Found your video on you tube and it brought back some great memories of when I used to race on the hills . Excellent piece of work will watch again when I need a wee bit of motivation .Thanks mate cracking job.
+Martin laing Ay'up Martin. Thanks for the kind comments. Of course I remember you. I always look at the Alva results to see how you've faired, but not since the 2012 race have I seen your name there. Would be great to go back to the days when we could both run well. I still do a bit of fell running - for enjoyment rather than trying to win anything! Sithee, Andy.
You know my thoughts on this Andy. Like I said on FB in reference to revisiting and watching again.........Just watched it through for a second time the same day. Doubt I'll tire of it anytime soon. Still amazed at your camera angles.
Cheers Andy good to hear from you .I'm still doing a bit of running but haven't raced in ages although I'm going to try and get an entry for Ben Nevis as I'll be 60 in August. Your mention of Alva has me thinking it would be good to have a go at it this year as well . Have you thought of running it again maybe renew the old rivalries ,maybe show some of those youngsters were not retired just yet. All the best Martin
+Martin laing My Alva days were never the same since I managed to get the 'first to the top' prize in '95 (?). It was never one of my favourites. I will have a go at the Ben Nevis race this year. Hopefully see you there. Andy.
Brilliant video! - Glad I run to work, looking forward to the run back home :) - followed the link from Runners World: facebook.com/runnersworlduk?fref=nf

Fantastic video Andy, thanks for sharing.
Excellent! Great film.
Man I love that! Great video. I especially love the shots of people descending. Gutted I don't feature in it. Maybe next year :)
Ace video!
Inspiration for all, now that's how you sell a sport.

Fantastic Andy.. Really captures the essence .. Glad to see you caught my better side!
Thanks Jude. You go down well!
Strangely that's not the first time I've heard that said!... l
Maybe I should re-phrase to "descend well" :-)
Precioso. Gran vídeo.
John Herrera - the film shows 'shorts' from several races, none of which are longer than 7 miles (11k).

Andy, do you still hold the Gale Fell record from 1969?
