Marc, you are probably feeling the way you do about Teddy because you are under the weather and kittens are hard work. He will calm down and when you are able to let him outside, I think he will find his own entertainment. Just give him time and take care of yourself. ❤
I recently got a kitten and after three weeks of sleep deprivation we had to sleep in separate rooms. He can now go outside and he's really settling down. He's about five months old. Hang in there it does get better 🐾🐈
In the words of Ogden Nash, "The trouble with a kitten is that - eventually it becomes a cat." 😊 On the plus side though 🙂, my tom cat sleeps 20 hours a day...the kitten phase doesn't last forever. I do lock the cats out of the bedroom, so I can sleep in peace (or they will jump on my head at 3:00 a.m.). They are handling it well 🐈🐈⬛. You can also crate the kitten at night (or when you need peace). I have done this several times. No problems whatsoever. I used a larger dog crate (just ensure it's kitten safe) and put in a small litter tray (for kitten emergencies). The bonus is that the animal becomes accustomed to the crate and it's great when unexpected situations arise and they need to be contained, since they don’t fret about it. The crate has to be a happy place. Feed them in there. Put in a favorite toy. Have a nice soft bed, etc. Compromise is fine! You don’t want to end up resenting the cat. Kittens learn quickly and no, responsible crating is not remotely cruel.
Give him a chance Mark .Teddy will calm down he is just finding out new things as he grows. I would built a cattery for him i wouldnt let him wander out due to mass land around you . A dog would be worse to own because they need walks everyday but a cat is very independant
Hi Mark. Hubs and I both 70, are also feeling shattered and tired. We put it down to change in season. We usually out on our land in warmer weather. I think it plays a role. I just want to hibernate! Yes, Teddy is hard work. Once he gets out he will give off some steam and hopefully come in to sleep!
Sorry to see you’re not feeling too good Marc. We had a black kitten just like Teddy and yes she was hard work in the beginning but after a while she settled down and turned into a beautiful calm cat. Like you, my wife and I like working on our property and did at times get frustrated we couldn’t achieve certain things because of our kitten but eventually it got done. Our black cat is no longer with us and we miss her every day. We hope to get another in the new year with the full knowing of how challenging a young cat can be. We both love your channel for the house renovation and of course Teddy.
Try to take electrolytes. Look at ingredient label as they can be full of rubbish. Only take magnesium just before going to bed. B12, vitD3 and zinc may give you the boost you need, particularly as its coming into winter. It takes about 3 weeks for it to have any effect.
Marc, you haven't made a mistake, kittens and puppies are harder than children! I nearly had a nervous breakdown when I had a Pointer puppy, it's the only time I ever felt I couldn't cope! He will soon be your best friend, going outside and totally independent and you wouldn't want to live without him so don't worry, get out for a few hours a day and put him in a crate when necessary. PS get back on the drawer full of chocolate bars you used to show us before!👍
I inherited cats from my mom when she died. I’m not a cat person! I got fed up with cleaning up the litter box so here’s a suggestion. I put the litter tray in a large box. I cut the sides off so that it’s a three sided box that way when the cat scratches the litter, it hits up beside the box and bounces back into the litter tray! I also put plastic bags underneath the litter tray inside the box so that when the cat jumps out and takes the litter with it, I can pick up the plastic bags and dump it back in the box! At least it keeps that relatively clean and I don’t have to mess with it all day! they make expensive litter trays or litter boxes with covers, but this cat is 20 some years old and I didn’t want to spend lot of money when I don’t know how long he’s gonna be around
Sounds like you just need time to adjust to reality of having him in your life. I was like that when I got a dog for the first time but over a short time I learnt to love her so much. Of course he'll settle, he's just a baby at the moment.
Your just like me lol new responsibility or change always knocks me off balance . Teddy is lovely and this is just a period of readjustment it always seems to take me longer than others to adjust I was like that when I got my first Cat Licks but then all of a sudden it changes it settles and they become part of you and your routines and you love them to pieces ❤😊❤😻
He and you are adjusting! It’s been so little time Marc once he’s able to enjoy the great gardens he will settle down! No different to babies it takes patience and resilience 👍
Hi Mark. Sorry you are not feeling good. Don't let the kitten dominate your day. I am in the same position with a kitten. A bit later introduce it to the outside to familiarise itself. It will become independent and occupy itself. Even kittens do that to hone predatory skills with play ready for the outside world. I feel guilty when I can't give it all my time. Find a balance and carry on with what you need to do. Even a kitten will fit into that and occupy themselves. They sleep about 16 hrs and will sleep or play when you are not there. He will still be a happy kitten. P.s Loved the tour on the bike.
Dear , dear Marc, how I really like you. I have a daughter with your issues. You must put yourself first. Would you like an older cat? This one will grow quite quickly. However if you are too stressed PLEASE give him back. I think he is well overdue for going outside. Would you like that if he had fun in your fields ? Whatever you must put yourself first. I think you are so lovely and I enjoy everything you put up except inside banging 🙃 good luck but you must put yourself first whatever.❤
Dear Marc, you are experiencing something similar to a post pattern depression after the birth and acceptance of your little furry friend Teddy Bear😊. It's an adjustment period. You'll both grow and change and all will be well. You can do this 🤗 We bought Feliway Classic spray (happy cat) which really calms the little buggers lol also, you may be able to get a vet to give you some gabapentin😊(sleeeepy) lol Sorry but I laughed my way through this video but sending loving support..also subscribed to Marc's Teddy bear..loved it. We have been busy the last few months moving from Portland Oregon back to Phoenix, Arizona so we've been a bit incommunicado
Oh no really hope your feeling a bit better soon , thinking about it , at least with a kitten your not going to come home and find it's messed allover your carpet teddy uses his tray , and he won't chew everything up , it will get better , ❤❤🖤❤❤
Kittens use a lighter litter, they're not so messy then, buy shops own cheaper food and give him water not milk. It's only been a week he'll be fine and get over the 'kitten stage' quickly once he's vaccinated/micro chipped and can out doors to do his own thing. I liked the bike video it was interesting.
Just like children they need all our care and attention, so your feeling like a new mum or dad 😂, don't worry it will soon.pass go with the flow and you will have your reward of unconditional love. 😊
I would get teddy a cat litter tray where it inclosed with a flap on door entry they keep the cat litter in tray more tidy less of odour when they do there buissness . He calm down soon he still a baby ❤
No, Marc, that is exactly what you signed up for when you got a baby kitten. He is not mental, he shows perfectly normal behavior for a kitten his age. I guess he is just bored out of his knickers, having no sibling to play with him... Having pets IS expensive (by the way... that cheap supermarket cat food is not really healthy and leads most likely to higher vet costs in the future), everyone should be aware of that, but if you can afford it, having the love and company of a lil friend is priceless! A cat is not a robot you can turn off in the evening to have an undisturbed sleep, it's like having a child... As far as your diet is concerned, it is counterproductive to drink milk, especially with kidney disease... perhaps your symptoms are due to the fact that you have drunk too much of it in the past. It's good to generally avoid sugar anyway and eat fruit or carbohydrates (in moderation) instead... In general, I think that you are taking in too few vital substances. I hope that you will discover your love for Teddy (and if not, that you will find a good home for him) and wish you all the best for your health.
Sometimes when things are not going as well as we expect and especially when we're not feeling well it's difficult to see that given a little time things can improve. The kitten is hard work at the moment but he should settle down given a little time and especially when you're comfortable letting him outside on his own . But as you said yourself that there are people out there that love cat videos and perhaps it's worth considering making some videos for them and to help you with an income stream , after all this little kitten is in your videos anyway and perhaps your videos could be edited to accommodate your second cat channel. But I've no doubt it's hard demanding work .
That’s sad, you smiled more in the first week than in the year or so I’ve been watching you. You also didn’t start as you mean to go on, with that kitten so what is poor Teddy to think? One minute you are playing with him all the time then the next he’s annoying. My suggestions are to close your bedroom door at night and mean it because your sleep deprivation and not feeling well is making everything worse. When you need to work, close the door too, you’ve got enough of them! Good job you didn’t take my early suggestion about opening it all up and getting a new wood burner (would have stopped the humidity issue though 😅). Regards your kitten channel, some of us would really appreciate that kind of early success! The money from that channel would be welcome surely? You are always talking about being skint. An easy quick weekly video featuring the delightful Teddy could bring in the shekels to Enable you to afford more projects for your main channel which would be a win all round n’est pas? Hope you feel better soon!
I don't have any pets but I am feeling totally wiped out, as always at this time of the year. Try not to be so hard on yourself whilst you deal with your dietary issues and Teddy. I'm sure all will be well. Maybe some blood works to see if there are any underlying issues and other than that, just take it easy if your energy is depleted. You can still make video's with a wee chat, even if you've not done much. Hope you feel better soon.
Regarding the bike video..OK the music thing a disappointment for you...lesson learned. BUT YOU'VE GOT A BIKE YOU CAN SELL FOR A FEW HUNDRED EUROS..there is good and bad in everything..remember nothing has to be perfect...
Don't be too hard on yourself and have some rest . I have 3 cats and they are not as hard work as a kitten and I had my brother's kitten for 2 weeks and he would run to my legs and arms which was scary but hard work and now glad he has gone back home 😂
Oh goodness Marc ,the answer will be rehome the kitten,it's not for you, don't feel guilty get your life back . Take care . Keep on with your normal videos l am certain it's better for you to enjoy what you do 😊best wishes ,hope you feel better soon .
I think once Teddy can go outside it would be good. You have had him in the house 5 days, it is about time he went outside so when you go outside take him with you. He will calm down.
I love your kitten I would have one myself but my kids don't like them and I'm asthmatic since the last time I had one, so not sure how that would go. I'm not well today I only have a cold but it's gone to my chest making me cough a lot, Coughing reminds me when I was 9 and had TB that's why I don't like it, I'm 66 now and will never forget it. If my Mum hadn't have gone for a second opinion I would have died they said I was a miracle, they gave me 6 weeks max. Luckily enough this 2nd Dr got me well. Xx
Eat loads of beetroot that will help with your kidneys and eggs will be good your cat will learn how you do things don't get rid of him plz he loves you x
Hope your ok Marc, half Siamese cat crazy and dominant your not coping give back the kitten .. maybe take him back next year if they cannot house when he is older. Go to a naturopath re diet without change there is no change. 😊
Hi Mark. Sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I wonder if the kitten will be less bothersome as he gets older, becomes more independent and spends more time outside? Of course you don't have to keep him. About the sugar, I subscribe to the view that sugar (and milk) is completely unnecessary. I wear a CGM and although aim for a carnivore diet I never have low blood sugar. So I wonder what's going on for you. Protein will raise your blood sugar, slowly. Are you drinking enough water, for your kidneys? I had terrible kidney pain once, completely cured with Berberis in the form of a homeopathic tincture. Never returned. I hope you feel better soon.
Mark this is getting silly. Admit you have made a mistake with the cat. Of course your last cat was most probably just the same , but you weren’t ,you were younger . Sort a new home for the cat ,and get your backside to a doctor. You have got to start the new year with a more positive outlook. Things will be ok 🤗
He will calm down Teddy Bear you have to think this is in my routine now it was different to what it use to be. Maybe try not to spend time when you want to get on with things , that were usually in your old routine. Perhaps you may be giving him to much of your time , soon he will calm down for sure, He has to know you are the boss and when you want to do things not the other way round, I think you need a check up with DOCTOR Marc
If you are not bonding or intolerant then please take him back to shelter or re-home to responsible pet people. It is so upsetting that Teddy having normal feline behavior has you rethinking his home with you. It is obvious if something serious with Teddy occurred you could not tolerate. He deserves love, kindness and commitment. I am sorry if I am harsh but nothing makes me angrier than humans so easily able to disregard an animal's life. I don't think you deserve him. FYI animals shouldn't be exploited for money
Marc, you are probably feeling the way you do about Teddy because you are under the weather and kittens are hard work. He will calm down and when you are able to let him outside, I think he will find his own entertainment. Just give him time and take care of yourself. ❤

Compromise is fine! You don’t want to end up resenting the cat. Kittens learn quickly and no, responsible crating is not remotely cruel.
I got one of those foldable crates which has become his normal bed. I've closed it occasionally and he's fine with it.
Give him a chance Mark .Teddy will calm down he is just finding out new things as he grows. I would built a cattery for him i wouldnt let him wander out due to mass land around you . A dog would be worse to own because they need walks everyday but a cat is very independant

He's only a baby, and you can always go out for an hour.
Keep the kitten... when he gets a bit older you'll love the company. Someone to talk to besides us and your mirror.
He won’t always be a kitten. It will settle down and you will both settle in.

I think teddy neads company! Kittens amuse themselves in pairs! Another kitten will maybe change all your problems??
The kitten is just what you needed to break away from yourself…have fun…all in the attitude…
Well if youre going to rehome him do it now while he’s young, he may get a home fast because a kid wants a kitten for Xmas

absolutely agree!
You may be allergic to your kitten and can suffer from fatigue....
I really don't know if getting a kitten was such a good idea. A more mature cat would be easier to incorporate into your life.
The low pressure at this time of year doesn't help...swop him for a dog, they are easier to train. Lol.....
Idiot
