Define a lawful order? Just because an order comes out of a cops mouth - DOES NOT necessarily mean it is lawful. Cops have been caught lying to civilians all the time. Especially the “show me your ID” . Some places you do not have to ID unless you are arrested. Even detained you don’t have to. So chief saying “just follow the lawful orders” . I wish I could go around and do that, “hey man give me $20. No? I’m giving you a lawful order to hand me $20. Do it or go to jail for resisting, not following lawful orders, and um um oh yeah officers safety” . Fucking bullshit.

I'm on the cop's side. You may not like that he was picking on a small city ordinance violation, but it was a valid stop. If you think a cop is wrong, then you fight that in court. You don't start fighting a cop. Why didn't he show his ID? Why do you think you can drive a car on public streets and violate a law and then not provide a cop with your license? If that's how you react to police, then your whole life is going to be filled with arrests for your own dumb decisions.

Of course a simple admonishment from the cop is out of the question, he just had to escalate and ruin another person's life. This is why the police in the US have the poor reputations that they do and the violence against them. It seems their training is always centered on violence rather than community relations. I have little sympathy anymore for them after watching this disgraceful display of stupidity on the part of this officer. He should not be a cop as his judgements are poor and has no sense of decency or respect for citizens.

Illegal entry into the man's car. Arrest the cop. You Sacramento folks keep your eye out for police cars left running with no one in them. Report them for a code violation.

Badges don't grant extra rights, or do you think cops aren't required to follow the same laws they've sworn to enforce?
If cops are going to write tickets to citizens for leaving their car running, the cops should be getting the very same tickets for doing the same thing.
They don't need computers in their cars anyway. People at the police station are paid to do that and most times we see them sitting on their asses doing nothing.
Computers in cars are a huge waste of resources in the cost of the computers, the cost to install them in the cars, the cost to maintain them and the cost to keep the computers cool. Needlessly burning fuel, adding to the pollution problem and shortening the life of the cars engine.
PD's survived for decades without computers in their cars.
Cops don't need computers to write reports either. Ink pens and paper are cheap and readily available.

Another instance of a cop not knowing/understanding the law they are supposed to enforce and then enforcing it illegally. Ignorance of the law is no excuse and this cop should be charged with breaking and entering and assault, at the very least. It's so bad even the police spokesmen, who went on camera to protect his fellow gang member, didn't even know the law. By the way, the law itself is stupid and unnecessary.

Since when did EMPLOYERS have to follow the orders of their SERVANTS? The police are public SERVANTS and SERVANTS don't give orders to their employers because they are NOT IN COMMAND.
'Authority' has more than one definition. 'Those in command' applies to the public - WE PAY THEM. The definition that applies to ALL public SERVANTS is 'the accepted experts in a particular field' - no mention of 'command' whatsoever.
The 'authority' the public have is more than sufficient to elect presidents and prime ministers - which is just about all of it. The SERVANTS of the public, such as police, fire, military, town councils, state councils and central government have NO AUTHORITY at all over the the law-abiding public. The only exception, as far as the police are concerned, is that they have some 'authority' over an arrested criminal. But they'd better be right. If they're not they should be sued back into the Neolithic.
It is high time police officers carried their own insurance, then they'd have to pay for their own mistakes and outright criminal behaviour. I see no reason why any member of the public should have to pay for the idiocies of poorly-trained, bigoted and violent criminal bullies.

This is why cams are important its against the law to leave your car idling and you enter the store you have to turn it off. the man did not know the law and did not comply and caused the situation to escalate into and arrest. I am a harsh critic of the police department because most of them are violent thugs. This person was ignorant of the law instead of walking over and talking to the guy and informing him of the law the cops goes straight in arrest mode... that is the ONLY problem i have with this video. HE did not seek to educate him about the law but decided to go in to lock up mode. He for his id to decide whether to lock the guy up or not, a simple moment turned into a big issue.

There's always two sides to every story and there might be essential details to this incident that the camera didn't capture, but assuming the footage is telling the whole story, those cops should lose their jobs. I don't understand some of these cops. They're itching to escalate and get physical it seems. I used to take public transit in some of the worst areas of Miami and had a few suspicious interactions (I thought things could go wrong), but NOT ONCE did I ever feel physically threatened or that my life was in immediate danger to the extent that I had to resort to violence.

First off, I was not a lawful order. Second, I don't know why they always gotta make it about race...Race had nothing to do with it.
This car was on Private property, that ORDINANCE is city policy and is in no way close to a law...It is Color of Law,which means it looks like a law but it is not.
not only did the cop leave his car running but he also broke the law by entering that man's personal property without consent and took the car keys.
    Badges do not Grant rights.
This man was not lawfully obligated to produce an identification priod end of story. There is a lot more to it than this, but this whole thing was wrong on many levels. And if the guy doesn't see the piece of shit and federal court and he's the fool.
if a cop violates your rights he is liable in his individual capacity as well as his professional capacity.

    noun
a crime motivated by racial, sexual, or other prejudice, typically one involving violence.
God spoke to him in this way: ‘For four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own, and they will be enslaved and mistreated.
7 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves,’ God said, ‘and afterward they will come out of that country and worship me in this place.
    Acts 7:6,7
