Closest thing to hearing this beauty of a song for the first time again. The chorus just explodes with energy, love it!
I see what you mean when you say it makes you feel like you're in space, it's the same for me. I think I would describe this song as "cosmic", as well as Minerva, Sextape, Entombed and many other Deftones songs. If you're looking for something with a similar vibe I recommend Cherry Waves, it's from the same album as Xerces and it's just as good. Also, since someone else said it in another comment, I highly recommend Chino's side projects Team Sleep and Crosses, they have some great songs! They're all really good, but I recommend Elizabeth, Ever and 11/11 by Team Sleep, and Option, The Epilogue and Trophy by Crosses.

Chino Moreno- Brief Exchange is pretty sweet too.
Do Poltergeist or Goon Squad off Koi No Yokan. Both have a blend of his angry and soft voices and just some of the most brutal, sawtooth riffs. The contrast, as it always is with Deftones, is incredible.

Yeah Deftones is such a vibe band they can give you a whole feeling and story with so few lyrics but the beat and vocals just hypnotize.

Nice one Omar. So pleased you liked this. Rosemary by Deftones is clearly a "Space" song for me. It always makes me think of Ghost In The Shell. Can't remember if you've listened to Rosemary, but I HIGHLY recommend it if you haven't. It falls into the Entombed/Sextape/Xerces spacey/beautiful Deftones catalogue! I'm certain you'll like it.

Pretty sure this song is about the death cult started by Marshall Applewhite. They killed themselves, en-masse back in the 90's, believing that the comet Hale-Bopp would take them away to the next level of being. Members of the cult lived an ascetic lifestyle, denying themselves human pleasures, and living a "frugal" life. The song kind of sounds like the struggle that one of these people may have been going through prior to their cult suicide..
