    Stock pistons stock heads. Dual valve springs, chrome moly pushrods. All it is is the TSP cam kit.

    111 LSA. The MS4 is ridiculously awesome. Everyone was trying to tell me it's a bad cam for the street, etc, but it drives great. Just watch the video, the car moves normally in reverse without touching the throttle even with that converter. Just make sure you get some ARP rod bolts and either a double roller timing chain or the C5R like I got for some really cheap insurance since those cams want to spin to 7k.

    The squeak no longer exists. It was the harmonic balancer.

    Yeah stock heads and intake w/ egr. Running double springs though that TSP recommended (forget the brand) The car will be going 11's easy w/ a 4.11 gear and some fresh tires. Not trying to deal with putting a roll bar in yet.

    12.3 @ 111 w/ a terrible 1.9 60 foot. I don't think I was heating the tires up enough. I'm going for 11's this weekend though.

    PRC Dual Valve Springs. TSP Chrome moly pushrods, stock rockers. I just bought the cam kit from TSP which included the cam, springs, and pushrods.

    @awdoom Nice, man it gets annoying after awhile. For most people it's the AC tensioner that poops out.

    @awdoom if its a nitto tire....use around 23-24 psi....and heat them up damn good. double what you did last burnout. and leave off idle....flash it and watch the 1.5-1.6 60 foots all day. i do that on my stock 10 bolt with 3:73 gears....pinion seal hates me.

    when you put this cam in did you have to fly cut the pistons for valve clearance at all? I love the sound and idle but I am wondering if an MS3 would be better for the street. What would you say?

    • @awdoom
      @awdoom  10 років тому

      Nope. MS4 was badass for the street, but I would go with a much higher LSA due to the low vacuum of the 111 LSA causing breaks to feel weak.

  • @Blackneck1994
    @Blackneck1994 12 років тому

    @joshscott98ta I don't currently have an aftermarket cam with an LS1 intake and 806 heads but I can tell you one thing from what I've heard, the LS1 intake kills it the most. I saw a LS2 swapped F Body and for whatever reason it had an LS1 intake and it made 303whp... WHP! The LS1 intake is horrible. As for the heads, probably not the best but still could be improved. Not like the 241s were too much better anyway, with porting they have good potential.

    @awdoom did you need to flycut your pistons to make this work? or did you just beef up the stock heads with springs, rods? ect..?

    i see you still have the stock 806 heads and egr ls1 intake. i would think that would kill the cam. did you upgrade your springs? sounds great though!

    What rpms does your car idle at? I have the tsp torquer V3 cam 231/234 and .643/.598 that idles at 950 with the M6. Definitely love the sound of your car and it's what I'm trying to get.

    with these mods can it be used as daily driver? any idea of how many mpg? any extra issues that may come up as a result of these mods? trying to figure out if car integrity is compromised because I will be doing all these mods to mine next month, so trying to figure out if it will turn into a "garage/track car" and will need to buy an extra daily drive, or I can still use it, please any advice would be very useful thanks.

    • @awdoom
      @awdoom  9 років тому

      I would not daily drive this cam. MPG was maybe 15 - 20? Brakes were terrible because of the LSA.

      Wesley Looney 1st gen ms4 cams and 2nd gen ms4 cams were slightly different from what I understand. I'm not sure of the lsa/icl difference. I believe the exhaust was .609 instead of .600.
