i find it disappointing that notion mail will only be available with gmail upon release, especially when we're still waiting for notion calendar to support calendars other than gcal
Thanks for the video. I found it ironic that you mentioned the Microsoft ecosystem when the main reason I don't utilize Notion Calendar and will likely skip on Notion Mail is the lack of Outlook integration. If Notion Mail supported my work and personal Outlook accounts, I would immediately sign up and buy in.
Just curious. Is there any alternative to Notion that: 1. Supports/integrate Microsoft native apps 2. Can do we Notion does (can be used as project management app, web-building app etc)
@@mohdizuan5683 Microsoft came out with an app called Loop that had and still has potential for it, but there aren't the databases functionalities that make Notion awesome. Maybe one day Loop will be Microsoft's answer to Notion and a true competitor, but it's not there yet.
@@mohdizuan5683 I have heard that Click Up does have Microsoft 365 integration. I have not seen it myself though, and while I am sure that Click Up can be used for task, project, and note management, I don't know if it can be used as a web-building app.
Skiff mail was acquired by Notion. Skiff was the answer for private email, that was NOT proton. Notion is getting the WHOLE PIE like google and all your ways of thinking, planning and company information.
Notion does not even support Microsoft as yet such as outlook calendar or email. So highly unlikely. Microsoft is just a competitor of Notion. Notion is so successful, why would the owners of Notion sell their business? Its not like Evernote and Bending Spoons.
I'm still looking for a replacement for IQ Tell which brought email, projects and tasks together. You could turn an email into a project or a task and capture all related things together. Notion has been a game changer for some of this for me but is obviously missing the email aspect. I hope this new email capability will go beyond just Gmail connections though.
I wish they could also add [Map] database view just like how trello does with their (google) map board. This is really a very useful for sales agent who want to pin the location of their customers And to get birds eye view of where most of your customer are.
I love the idea of notion and used to use it for about a year but stopped but I still stalking it but have not been able to go back because of the lack of themes. the standard B&W has made it boring for me
@@momustafahmed Honestly I think Microsoft would just ruin it. They'll shove Copilot into everything and farm it for user data. Microsoft buying Notion we be the worst thing to ever happen! It would provide Microsoft with a sneaky way to get rid of any competition. Or if they continue to update the software, they would ruin it somehow.
10:07 this is the worst idea ever. how can someone who reviews productivity tools even have that thought 😢. this is not something management bs, this is the first time we have an actual alternative to the Microsoft ecosystem that improved the productivity of millions.
@@toolfinderhq we need tools that help people be productive, not large tech companies buying potential competitors and erasing innovation in the interest of profit and "shareholders". thanks a lot for your understanding (hopefully)
There is no such thing as a Notion Mail as in a backend mail server of their own. Its just another Gmail client overlay. They killed Skiff and wheeled out the the former Skiff team to showcase a variant of the Skiff email client sitting atop Gmail. For people who wanted truly decentralized mail, docs and storage this is not a great replacment. Gmail is a place people are running from atm so why put an email client skin on it. smh.
I agree that Microsoft should not buy Notion and that it won't happen. I disagree that Notion can dethrone Office because Microsoft's ecosystem and backend infrastructure are the backbone of so many industries, let alone companies, and Notion does not have the full feature set to replace what Office can do for large companies.

So is Notion Calendar still. It's so annoying.
If they allowed Notion Mail to pull from IMAP accounts and not just Gmail I'd happily pay each month.

Microsoft buying Notion is one of the worst ideas I’ve heard this year.
I mean I hope it doesn't happen.

I’ve updated Notion and see no form or layout options. SOS
Try to create a new database. You should see the form option then. Or hit / and write form.
@@ZioKrist I did. Still nothing.
@@DSGQR did you check for updates?
I hope the upcoming Notion mail would also offer free options just like the now defunct Skiff mail

When will these features be available

Why cant I find the updates on my workspace

That would totally ruin Notion imo. I'd stop using immediately.
