I love bushman and blue videos, I'm in the UK myself and really like wild camping and especially really cold snow camping. Blue is the best dog in the world he is a credit to you and a true companion
This is the 401 comment on this video. I hope you learned your lesson after this experience. Bring extra water with you so you don't have to rely on the quality of the water on the mountain. Another option is bringing a very good water filtration system. I also suspect melting white powder snow, wherever it is available, may also result in very clean water.
One tip I was taught in the Army was in winter when carrying water, store the bottle upside down, as water freezes top down, when you turn the bottle the right way, the unfrozen water will flow to the top.

Glad you had a way to boil the water and enjoy a nice meal and some beers. I am with you, I enjoy to have a beer after pitching camp or after a race. A nice reward. Also, I like to talk to myself on a nice hike or run or camp. I don't have a dog or camera with me😁. It is good to wax poetic during the adventures, being at home is not as inspiring and/or I don't need the encouragement like I do when I am working hard and enjoying life. I've done the same on the top of Kinder Scout, first ever trip up there, and didn't know they'd dammed the 'streams' every 20m. Luckily had a Sawyer to filter it, but had to run it through a double-folded sock TWICE to try and get as much of the silt out of it as possible. Lesson learned to always save 1L in my water bladder for emergencies if I'm not familiar with the area. Thanks for the inspiration. I'm off out again 🤣

I keep a stack of coffee filters and a rubber band in my bag for dirty water. I use them as a pre-filter for my MSR pump but you can wrap them around the mouth of your water jug and it’ll take most of the physical dirt out of the water and they don’t weigh anything. Great video man. You’ve got some beautiful mountains over there.
I was just wondering if the ice itself that covered the manky water would have melted down a bit nicer? Excuse my ignorance 😂in Australia I have literally never seen snow, and never seen a frozen pond either. I think I will take your advice, and head outside a bit more...and by that I only mean fish and chips at the beach 😂here on the West coast it's so beautiful to watch the sun sink into the ocean. Thank you for making 2022 better with all your great videos. This one was like a demonstration of where the expression "A breath of fresh air" came from. However, it looks like you found where the manky puddles go when they get so bad the other manky puddles kick them out. Ugh. Would a coffee filter help in a case like that? (At least it would filter out most of the mud and gunk, and it wouldn't weigh but a couple of grams.) Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for you and your family.

Just watched the caving one recently. Blue prefers mountains to caves judging by body language.. No doubt about it. I watch the 'outdoor boys' sometimes. He goes big on the cooking angle.

Lovely filming I really enjoy these vlogs just a quick question as I’m no outdoor adventurist but those large chunks of ice that you chucked to one side looked cleaner than the bog water ? Was there a reason not to melt those chunks of ice rather than obtaining the muddier water. Fabulous views please do keep them coming.

Another great presentation, thank you! Only question I have is could you have taken some of the broken surface ice back to melt rather than drawing water from the shallow ponds with the inherent sediment? 🤔
n- ice one! did you know - `ey up` comes from Scandinavia - (not sure what part) and its a lumberjack warning shout when the tree is falling. what i dont know is why dogs can drink mucky watter and we can`t?
I use Ey up as a warning too😂. We are slowly becoming a weaker species by cleaning everything and using bleach etc. there will be some hidden tribes that are still pretty tough which will probably be the saviour of Homo sapiens at some point.

I keep a stack of coffee filters and a rubber band in my bag for dirty water. I use them as a pre-filter for my MSR pump but you can wrap them around the mouth of your water jug and it’ll take most of the physical dirt out of the water and they don’t weigh anything. Great video man. You’ve got some beautiful mountains over there.

I was just wondering if the ice itself that covered the manky water would have melted down a bit nicer? Excuse my ignorance 😂in Australia I have literally never seen snow, and never seen a frozen pond either. I think I will take your advice, and head outside a bit more...and by that I only mean fish and chips at the beach 😂here on the West coast it's so beautiful to watch the sun sink into the ocean. Definitely get out for the fish and chips 😂. Ice takes a lot of time to melt in a pan and therefore gas. I made it work😂

Thank you for making 2022 better with all your great videos. This one was like a demonstration of where the expression "A breath of fresh air" came from. However, it looks like you found where the manky puddles go when they get so bad the other manky puddles kick them out. Ugh. Would a coffee filter help in a case like that? (At least it would filter out most of the mud and gunk, and it wouldn't weigh but a couple of grams.) Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for you and your family.

Just watched the caving one recently. Blue prefers mountains to caves judging by body language.. No doubt about it. I watch the 'outdoor boys' sometimes. He goes big on the cooking angle.

Lovely filming I really enjoy these vlogs just a quick question as I’m no outdoor adventurist but those large chunks of ice that you chucked to one side looked cleaner than the bog water ? Was there a reason not to melt those chunks of ice rather than obtaining the muddier water. Fabulous views please do keep them coming.
Ice just takes ages to melt in a pan. Snow is the same. It may have been slightly cleaner as I disturbed the water👍👍👍

n- ice one! did you know - `ey up` comes from Scandinavia - (not sure what part) and its a lumberjack warning shout when the tree is falling. what i dont know is why dogs can drink mucky watter and we can`t?
I use Ey up as a warning too😂. We are slowly becoming a weaker species by cleaning everything and using bleach etc. there will be some hidden tribes that are still pretty tough which will probably be the saviour of Homo sapiens at some point.
