- The War Within's Pre-Patch puts players in a unique situation, as there are multiple extremely fast leveling methods available at the same time. In this video I'll go over the three main ways to level during the pre-patch in order to determine which one is the best for your personal needs.

Here's a few miscellaneous tips for Radiant Echoes that I left out of the video:
- Make sure you don't enter Chromie Time while doing the event. This prevents you from encountering Level 70 players, and without them the entire thing will be significantly slower.
- Try to join a raid group if your phase is empty. You still get full experience from completing objectives while in a raid group, and the event is faster with more people.
- Below level 50, you won't be able to access premade groups with the LFG tool. However, you can have a friend join a group on a level 70 and suggest invite your low level character.
- Health scaling is currently broken on low level characters. If you attack elites, you actually give them much more health than you could possibly DPS through, which causes them to die a lot slower. I'd recommend AFKing while other people burn the elite, and then you can tag it around 5% HP.
- If the objective tracker doesn't appear on the side of your screen, you won't get experience once the event finishes. If you encounter this bug, simply fly out of the objective area and then fly back in.
- If you're trying to gear up a character using this event, save your currency and don't buy the trinkets. All of them are really bad, and you can get guaranteed BiS trinkets by farming Bronze Bullion from Dragonflight content. I'll put out a guide next week which goes into more detail on this topic.
If you have other tips that you feel I should include here, let me know in the comments below.
great vid thanks
What would recommend if im not looking to use a twink for the MOP remix - doing the Radiant Echoes stuff?
Yes
@@Harldan1 thanks!
Is radiant echo works for a beginner? Can I still fly?
Will this method be still avaliable after the WW is live? (I can't play for the next 7 days)
It's still good for beginners. While it will still be available after the Early Access launch, it will be gone once the expansion officially launches on the 26th.
Hi, I know mop is ending this evening..if I start a character rn, would it still be faster than chromie?
At this point, no. I'd still recommend doing it to grab whatever cosmetics you can in the time remaining. You can carry over your progress into retail when it ends.
Coming back after not playing since legion. Which of these methods is best since I’ll be starting at lv 40? I’ve got every class to level minus evoker? Any response from anyone would be awesome!
Radiant Echoes
If you level through remix can you participate in the new event radiant echoes???
No
is the radiant echoes available on 'standard' characters? id like to get a standard toon to 40 fast-
Yes
Assuming I am yet to even try Pandaria Remix, what would be the fastest method of acquiring "Infinite Power XII" to unlock the 100% extra xp? I ask this because as the event is about to end I'm wondering on how hard I would have to play to be able to unlock some of the Remix exclusive rewards.
Thanks for the video
You get the achievement just by leveling up your first character to 70.
@@Harldan1 Thanks, had no clue at all.
Couldn't say much about Chromie Time or Remix but I freggin blew through all my alts and got them to 70 in Pre-Patch. Most that weren't already 70 were just 60 but had a mage that was 50 and took only a 2-3 hours.. that's for ALL my alts not just getting just the lowest one to 70.
I did 3 chars on MoP before pre-patch came out. Haven't logged on once to MoP since. Pre-patch is more fun way to level and still very fast.
In Northrend I I kiss the frogs every time its up. With a simple macro you can finish it literally 60 seconds. With flight time, to and from, 90 seconds. Cheap and easy xp.
In the context of this event, 60 second completion with 90 sec round trip travel time for a SINGLE objective (without elite bonus kill XP) is unbelievably terrible. Not sure how this is supposed to be a defense of it.
How long it takes to level first character through mop remix? I stopped playing before they dropped mop remix.
~5-6 hours
@@Harldan1 thank you! ❤️ do you by any chance have a guide on how to get as much of the mop remix currency? I want to grind mop remix for few days and then jump to pre patch event
I do not, because it's as simple as "level up characters". Every character you level gives you 40k free bronze (you talk to the item upgrade NPC and get it for free from a quest). That's literally all you need to do. Just level up as many characters as possible, and each time you can spend that 40k bronze on additional cosmetics.
@@Harldan1 alright, thank you very much ❤️ btw do you plan to do tww leveling guide?
@@bartekszymanski6195 Yes
A Blade Fit For a Champion is one I have a macro for. I spam it to target and kiss the frogs and it gets done in under a minute as I run around the pond. Easily the fastest event.
What is "dragonflight crafted experience" ?
i leveled all clases to 70 and 480 ilvl on half, conquest pvp gear on other half :D (had 80k conquest after 3000 arenas on resto druid with bonus loot for queue as heal). retail became easier to level then private servers lol
One major thing missed for leveling with the Radiant event: if you don’t have fully upgraded heirlooms, you will be incredibly underpowered when you put scale your gear since you rarely get gear as drops and when you do, the scaling is broken, so the ilvl will generally be way below what you need. Because of this, if you outscale your gear, sticking to single target know b events is generally ideal since you won’t get wrecked by mobs that try to attack you.
Also, we still don’t know what the gear will look like for Remix characters when they get booted into retail, so there’s a big question mark there for how prepared a remix character will be gear-wise for TWW compared to a radiant leveled one (unless you have the currency to buy the Remix character gear from the Radiant event if needed).
To be fair, you shouldn't be participating in events at all if you're leveling through radiant echoes. Even if you have heirlooms you still do basically zero damage, the event only works for leveling because level 70's pull all of the weight.
@@Harldan1 That's a pretty unreasonable statement. There's tons of low levels in these events who are in this situation, but the events are finishing just fine. If you want to dwell on what "should" happen, then you should be advocating for the gear dropping for lower level players to be of the correct item level and for more of it to drop.
But it's a non-issue and trying to police players to tell them where they can and can't level is just going to get people pissed off over a situation where, as I said, the event is progressing just fine.
I think you read WAY too much into what I said. I'm not trying to police players, nor am I saying leveling gear shouldn't be buffed. I'm simply stating the fact that, in practice, you add nothing by contributing to most events as a low level character.
Lol. I lvled my DK last week and I eventually felt like the kid brother getting the unplugged Nintendo remote 😂 I soon realized you only need to "hang around" to still get the reward. Most of the event seems to be a bit abandoned at the moment (maybe only on EU where I play) but I think it'll pick up again closer to the launch of TWW because I'd like to lvl another few guys before the end.
very good job
"a blade fit for a champion" is one of the fastest echo events to finish, you can solo finish it in like 2 minutes, all you need is a macro to target and kiss the frogs, then fly around the lake spamming the macro, once the bar fills land and let all the frogs come to you so the lady appears... boom done faster than it took me to type this out
That's not very good though, in 2 minutes you can complete multiple other events. It's also still much more isolated compared to the rest, so by the time you go down there and return north, multiple other events such as Thorim/Tadpoles will have finished. You're hurting your efficiency in the long run.
TIL hogger quests are more than just bonus XP
Mop remix dungeon leveling seems to be even easier at this point in remix. It seems like I end up paired with another twink or overpowered character almost every run, making things even easier. If you don't complete any dungeon quests and catch a msv raid at 25, you can start popping your mailbox at 32 to get straight to 70. The whole process, like you said, is right around an hour.
Yea, it's technically possible to level characters quickly in MoP Remix even without your own personal 20 Twink, but I didn't want to mention that since it's a bit RNG. For people trying to get last second cosmetics though, it should still be really fast regardless.
@@Harldan1 Not anymore, with the warband map you get a nice little boost to bronze at the start and extra threads which is just enough to always make you op and carry every dungeon all the way to level 37
You aren’t getting to lvl 70 solo in 1 hour I ln panda that is a lie
@@steadychasingmoneybands6213 keep your head in the sand and believe what you want. I'm at 20 mop remix alts so far. And I've got it to about hour (not under... more like an hour and ten to an hour and 15 minutes.)
@@steadychasingmoneybands6213it’s two hours as a tank
Is it worth to play pre patch to level characters? Also, will mop remix characters be transferable to war within?
The first question is answered in the video? It depends on what your goals are. And yes -- they'll be automatically transferred at the end of the event.
@@deadlvrs ty!
@@deadlvrs i was a bit confused at first cause im kinda new.. But i get it now!
I wonder what's the point of leveling in wow right now if it's seen only as obstacle.
You said it yourself, it IS an obstacle. That's basically the entire idea. Many other MMOs, such as Guild Wars 2, have also effectively done away with leveling. The reason why it still exists in some form is to sell boosts and put a speed bump on botters. The focus shifted to endgame progression in 90% of MMOs many years ago, and the ones that still have progression while leveling, such as FFXIV, mostly do so as a vehicle to tell a story.
Agree 100%. Remix was insane for leveling. Pre patch seemed fine with the added bonus of getting decent gear upon maxing out. I have levelled 30+ toons with Chromie. Not racing, i can get a toon from 10-70 in about 3-4 hrs. It can be MUCH faster if dungeons are clicking fast or if Timewalking week is available.
so i have 30+ toons but i've been playing since the first expansion. what do you do with 30+ toons all made in one year?
@@caraziegel7652 are u asking what should YOU do? Whatever you want. I use mine for Professions. I like having at least 1 of every class/spec to add variety.
@@stormy7722 i can only handle playing about 6 at once
@@caraziegel7652 not op, but I only started in April and with all the boost events, I have like 4 lvl 70s and 3 of them in the last week. The process of boosting chars is fun, esp if you are playing with friends to chat away while doing it. Far more enjoyable than being screamed at by kids in LFR.
So because Dragonblight takes a few seconds longer, you skip it? You wait an hour for the next zone? WHY!? No way!
It does not take "a few seconds longer". If you want to do nothing except Radiant Echoes leveling for hours on end, feel free to run Dragonblight. My entire point is that it's a more efficient use of your time to level during the 2 hours it's in the good zones, and then take a break and do something else during Dragonblight. You aren't just "waiting", that would be stupid.
I play for 5 minutes then fall asleep
Pre-patch event is harder to level recently since it is largely abandoned by higher level geared players, which means a lot more lower levels with poor gear. This translates to less echoes being viable, and also taking much much longer to complete.
And getting chased by level 30 mobs while level 12 lol. You would have to do Chromie to each place to stay alive.
How to not die on Hakkar, kill its adds then stand in the green zone it drops and get the debuff and when hakkar casts his spell you wont die
Awesome vid. underrated creator
While which one is best for quick leveling an alt is important, I reckon that the more and most important question to ask is which one is the most fun?
Ultimately that's subjective. Personally I have more fun in Chromie Time despite it being the slowest method, but I know a ton of people who can't stand Chromie Time leveling.
Instead of a lvl 20 twink can i use a maxed geared lvl 70? I want to help people level
Yea, if you have a good cloak and high enough ilvl that also works.
The gearing part after remix is something that i tend to forget
I did 2 classes boosted through remix today (needed for splits) and it was blazing fast as expected 2h30 ish but now they have zero gear
While if i did radiant echoes i would get some currency to get gear
The nice thing about Radiant Echoes is that all of the gear is account-wide, and you actually get more of it by farming at max level. If you plan on maining a character that's currently stuck in Remix, you'll still have a few days before the expansion to move over currency and fully kit it out in 480 pieces.
For what it's worth, I just leveled a new druid 12-70 solely with the Radiant Echoes.
Got enough memories to get full bags, and all the gear pieces with about 4k memories to spare.
Just to be clear, buying bags is a waste of currency. They're equivalent to Wildercloth Bags, which you can buy for dirt cheap on the AH.
@@Harldan1 I'm using a 70 char and I'm leveling a hunter. On the first I collect the gear 480 for my alts (I need 4 sets). I will probably buy some bags and convert to gold the amount of Radiant currency I've been collecting.
Mop remix heroic dungeons. You can do 10-70 in 2 hours MAX. You just need to have a small amount of luck finding OP carry’s in dungeon finder
It's more consistent if you boost yourself, but yes, you could luck into people with random queue.
Excellent! I’m planning on resubbing and this was absolutely on point, thanks!
As a new player who only has 1 level 70 character and want more alts I'm assuming that MOP Remix dungeons is the fastest since I don't have all the dragonflight stuff ready and don't know the zones?
Dungeons are the safest bet, yes.
im not sure about the tagging tho , i think im still getting xp while just being there on my mount. gotta test if it's less xp than actually tagging
You still get XP from the event itself, but you get the bonus mob kill XP if you tag.
I found Dustwallow Marsh to be the most worthless zone to do. Too many events other players don't want to do like the crystal one and even the lazy peons and takes the longest with the constant collection quests up. Usually might get a cycle done in maybe 15-20 minutes. Dragonblight, on the other hand, I've seen done in as little as 6 minutes and tends to run 6-10 minutes. Searing Gorge tends to be middle ground around 10-15 minutes. I also tend to see far more players willing to do Dragonblight compared to the other two zones. Searing Gorge may have a shorter travel time, but that seems to be all it has going for it. Dustwallow Marsh I also found I get disconnected flying to Gahz'rilla if I try to land in the water. Once I started to land on a nearby island, I stopped getting disconnected. Otherwise, I have to dismount midair right before I get to him and fall into the water. Between Ragnaros, Onyxia, and Lich King, Lich King tends to have more fail at doing defile as too many like to drop it on other players and then it grows because no one moves. No one wants to deal with adds on the other two. Personally, of the three zones, I'd still take Dragonblight. Out of leveling 25 characters with the echoes event so far, I've found I've leveled considerably faster there compared to the other two zones. I'd rather log out when it was Dustwallow Marsh and test TWW beta than do Dustwallow Marsh some days. That said, it's interesting to see where players experiences are with the event.
To be clear, "completing a cycle" isn't really ideal, just getting objectives done is the goal here. Often times it's better to bounce between multiple objectives and get credit for them right as they complete, if an objective is bad, like crystals, you should ignore it entirely until other people get it closer to 95%. The advantage of Searing/Dustwallow is that you can quickly move between multiple events, allowing you to potentially get multiple completion bonuses in a short window of time. That's rarely possible in Dragonblight.
I agree with arvalia. Searing gorge and dragonblight where my fastest level zones with dust trailing pretty good. I've done like 6 toons in pre patch, all around the 3 hour mark, with no group of any kind. Also finishedlevel some other odd ball toons. Same experience with them all. The trick with blight is you only go even or below the tower when lich king spawns... Thor, tad poles and the 3 elites are great events. The 3 Champs seems to alway be a favorite unless tad poles is up. You get xp from all 3 elites, and they all die way faster than any other elite, so you get double the xp for the same amount of time as everything else. Everyone does have different experiences of course, but those are mine! Good luck anyway :)
@@Aeragone Just to be clear, getting 3 elite kills from the champ event isn't GOOD persay. Elite kill XP is relatively low compared to the actual bonus objective, I only mentioned it because it is free XP if you're already going to receive credit for the objective completion. It's usually better to fly around and complete other events, and then stop by the champion event right as the last elite is about to die.
Dragonblight may not be terrible, but after this video I've leveled up multiple additional characters, and each time my total experience gain was marginally lower in that zone compared to the others. It's just not as fast.
@Harldan1 it could be because I fly around solo and not in a raid group. Or I just stick to the strong areas. The 4 on the top right are all I farm in blight. Only go to the other elite or lumber if I have no choice. But hey we will have to agree to disagree. No xp buff or anything, just heirloom gear that dont do anything beside scale for me and I'm getting 2hours and 45min- 3 hours on every toon.
What are people actually doing with alts ? I always just play 1 or 2 characters.
But with this prepatch I lvled like 10 and now I just look at them, no way I am going to play them in tww :)
I usually only play a handful most of the time, but it's nice to have extra for transmog/mount farming when you want something.
Some people like variety.
@@godmagnus So do I but one character demands so much time to be taken care of, it's super hard to find enough time in a busy day for multiple characters. But I guess with finally shared reps and quests TWW will be alt friendlier :)
Stick them at rare spawns throughout early expansions and pop on them daily. Have 4 camp the Timelost dragon roosts. I have 27 scattered and 1 Main in current.
MoP hands down.
Alright but how do I get to 520 from 480 I don't understand.
I have a separate guide on my channel which discusses gearing.
Honestly i watched this to see what your opinions were and as soon as you said dragonblight sucked i felt so vindicated. Im leveling tons of characters and just take a break every time dragonblight hits. I have similar times.
I have to disagree on one thing: there are some events are hidden op, especially the liver boar. But not if you are afking. If you participate, killing all these mob in a row with other players will grant way more xp than the event's reward itself. But if youw ant to afk, then yes, skip it
you're awesome
Hey @Harldan will there also be a new earthen how to level guide be ? because i was wondering why nobody will use Draught of Ten Lands at least for the kickstart.

Great detailed info. Interestingly my criteria for levelling are generally not about speed but I come to similar conclusions to you. I value fun, learning a new class/spec and collecting transmog over speed. If I wanted last minute new character I’d use remix and collect more bronze for mog - I have a decently upgraded cloak now but no twink but I enjoy revisiting the old quest lines esp. Landfall quest line. For the stack of characters stuck in the lvl 60s from previous expansions Echoes definitely the best and great to collect currency and gear. I favour Searing Gorge too mainly because it’s more fun to take on the elites - bounce back and forth between Stitches and Hogger. Dragonblight is awful, too many boring:wood collecting, frustrating:morning brew and broken:frog kiss events. And Dustwallow, well too many trees, lol! For mid range characters or ones I’m only bothered to take to 50 for Heritage achieve, I’ve been bringing into DF and doing usual questing and dungeons - not the speediest but good way to learn the spec properly and I really just can’t take hours of grinding in the echoes event - just too dull. Thanks and see you in TWW!
Currently mop remix takes about 45 minutes to get to 70 from 10. I'd say an hour if you are dps. Just level to 39 and loot NOTHING. Everything you are not in a dungeon hit the mailbox and get all items and exp boosts but not the dungeon exp. Once you hit lvl 39 open mailbox and open all the dungeon exp and boom lol 70.
Great video, your very thorough but to the point. I'm sure you invest hours of time only to cut it down to the most digestible size for us! Awesome stuff. Im getting back into the game from a break after having gotten burnt out, this was a great intro for someone who wants to know all their options coming back!
Yup, one of my favorite quotes is "If I had more time, I would have written a shorter letter." It's easy to vomit out information across a super long video, it's harder to condense all of that information into a more digestible format without losing anything important.
@@Harldan1 I've liked that quote ever since you mentioned it in a previous vid. Another quote that I like is "Brevity is the soul of wit."
Radiant eco is the easiest
You stay op in mop remix until lvl 37 which is the level you need to open mail. Meaning you can literally carry the dungeons, no need for a twink anymore
Suggestion, after making the remix character, use the warband scout map to get a bonus of bronze, buy all gem openers to instantly get some meta, cogwheel, tinker etc for when you unlock them and ofc your trinkets, neck etc.
You will literally blast through dungeons like you are already a twink yourself, especially since the Warband map also rewards some threads-
While yes, you absolutely can solo level yourself in remix without a level 20 twink, you will never remotely reach their power level on your own while leveling up. Level 20 twinks can one-shot dungeon bosses and clear most heroics in ~30-45 seconds. That's what enables 1-2 hour 10-70 runs, but MoP Remix is still fast even without that.
News Flash: it's all trash
Chromie time aint a bug blizaarf said it would go to 70 after the tww comes out and not before
That is incorrect, it is in the patch notes and it is supposed to be working currently.
I think it's a super bad idea to go in depth on lthe event in a video that is supposed to be an overview over different methods.
Clearly the rest of the viewers disagree with you.
They need all raids to be available at maximum level. They need to keep all dungeons open all the time. For maximum level players. Any other effort is just a waste of time and a losing game.
Not sure what you mean by this. Especially in the context of this video.
