    Take into account the property itself. The residence portion is a meagre two bedrooms attached to a ridiculous office building in the middle of freaking nowhere. This house was designed for one man, and one man alone: Peter Grant. Who the hell would EVER want to spend the millions it would take to restore this place? Plus the hassle.

    Not being critical, but stating that this mansion was “moments from completion” in 2008 isn’t very accurate. The sheer number of missing interior finishes, plumbing / light fixtures, floor / wall / pool tiles, cabinetry, doors / trim, hardware, floor coverings, appliances, elevators, etc. would cost a fortune to procure and take many months to finish. Now with the prolonged deterioration, vandalism, all the water intrusion and mold / mildew damage, plus inflation… that property would be a black hole to throw money into. JS

    Just saw the Grant Mansion graveyard of hopes and dreams on the shores of our beautiful lake Temiskaming, through the barbed wire fence.

      No way. The amount of money to fix this place up, the property taxes and monthly cost to maintain this house..even if given to you for free, can you afford millions?

    • @nmarkert01
      @nmarkert01 2 роки тому +1

      @@drones9667 lol nope, and that’s why the thought even entered their head. I wouldn’t want anything this big even if I someone else paid the taxes for the first decade. Imagine heating that building in a Canadian winter on a lake….. probably a five figure gas bill monthly. Lol.

    Yeah, after ravaging the forest, he ravages a coastline with this hideous, absurd, unnecessary attest to excess. I am a capitalist, but I am beginning to think that a cap on personal wealth, might fit this terminology well, and make sense for humanity.
