Not a fan. I’m a bow tech full time. The risers strip out a lot and their customer service isn’t the best. Takes forever to get anything done with them. And for a carbon bow, the things a boat anchor.
I have the Mach34 s2 at 60# limbs low letoff mods and upgraded to the TAP titanium cable slide. It draws really smooth with a very small dump at the end of the cycle. I’m using it as a hunting bow only so I’m shooting a different bow primarily for another 6-7 weeks. I believe when I consistently shoot the Mach34 the very small dump will go unnoticed to feeling non existent in my draw cycle. Honestly, hardly feeling it now with minimal time behind it.
I would love your evaluation on the PSE with the EC2 cam and a speed report. I am on the fence between a PSE/EC2 cam Fortis 34 and a Bowtech SS34. Thoughts?
Check out the bow build video we posted on the Fortis, the EC2 cam has a more comfortable draw cycle then the S2. Thanks for the suggestion when we get our hands on a PSE Carbon with a different cam we will get a review posted. The Bowtech currently is very smooth but you do sacrifice some speed, just depends what your priority is. Either way your going to be stoked!!
@@DeadHeadArchery that’s fair and I completely understand. People should understand pse offers additional options. I’m not a fan boy of pse and choosing a bow is all personal preference. I thought the vtm was great last year but slowly fell out of love with it and went with a Mach 34 with ec2 cams. Had a halon before the vtm.
Great review. Which FlipDisc setting on the Bowtech Carbon 1 was used for the draw cicle test and the speed-test? There are two possibilities, comfort OR performance.
I shoot my phase 4 more often than my rx7U just based off the grips. I need ultraview to come out with a grip for the RX7U! Sidenote..... After adding the necessary additions to the rx7u it now weighs the same as my phase 4.
@@kylemacdonell1450 Stabilizers, rest, quiver etc..... The Rx7 tends to act like a sail so atleast for me it required 2x 3x the amount of stabilizer weights. Its archery though so what works for me doesn't mean it will work for another. Still a great bow that I love shooting.
You could shoot the PSE at 60# and get the same speed as the Hoyt or Bowtech. You should compare draw cycle with all of the bows set up to shoot the same arrow at the same speed. Try the PSE at 60# and report back
We wanted to shoot them all at the same poundage (70#) and find out the results. I wouldn’t mind shooting 60 though. Definitely better on the shoulders
it is but we assumed that they are all going to be light. What we wanted to see was how they performed and shot. In the end everyone puts all different sorts of accessories and weights on their bows so to me, weight isn't that huge of a deal breaker.
Couple things you missed on the bows. 1) the Hoyt has a stab/dampener on it in the front 2) Bowtech 100% in comfort not the same in performance hence the draw cycle and it also has orbit dampeners as well 3) shooting the S2 stiff cam and on 90% let off is the worst possible scenario. When you have higher let off your draw cycle suffers typically the lower the let off the better the cycle. You can tell it was on 90% cause it looked long DL. If your want apples to apples shoot the EC2 cam on Mach 34 and 80%. I don’t mind these videos but too many people see these with out knowing all the facts. I work in a shop it all matters. Not saying your wrong but all facts not to be accounted for especially for that amount of money a persons spending. Also pse has adjustable let off on the bow with two turns of an Allen and no press needed. Good review though just some info missing.
Will definitely keep all this in mind for the next one. I’ll make sure to do an apples to apples comparison. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comment.
Hmm, every other guy I know that have shot the levitate said there's a bit of hand shock. Even mfjj and pj Riley said there's a lot of hand shock. Also, if going in to film a video, don't be "that" guy that holds up the whole line because you're talking/shooting/making a video. Those three guys waiting to retrieve arrows looked annoyed.
I couldn’t really feel anything on either bow to be honest. Those guys that were there were with us. They look annoyed because they were watching us look like idiots trying to film 😂. Thanks for watching 🤙🏻
@@DeadHeadArchery everyone I've been talking to keeps saying get a Hoyt and they're nice bows and the hbx pro cam draw is good I guess but I feel like a crazy person when I say the ec2 feels amazing and they just get that bored look on their face lol.
All that commotion over vibe and noise, meanwhile you got the guy shooting behind you with a recurve loving his bow and at the same time it sounds like a train flying by each time he shoots. Too much Barbie action over in regards to vibration
The bowtech cam can be switched from comfort to performance. This will ramp up your speed.
I’m gonna switch it and give it a shot. Such a sweet shooting bow.
Have you done this yet, can you tell us what the speed was when switched for speed?@@DeadHeadArchery

Missing the best carbon bow of all. The Elite ERA!
No elites on the wall or else we would’ve

He literally said the hoyt's the best bow in the shop.. great honest review.
Best SELLING bow, the Bowtech won the comparison
Bowtech killed it this year...ive shot several bows, landed on the SS34. For me it was the draw cycle, balance and stability. Cant go wrong w/BT!
honestly, I was super surprised myself when I shot it. The draw cycle was very smooth. I just wish the riser design was a little more stream line.
Mach 34 with EC2 cam would be the one.. The S2 cam just blows in my opinion. Its quick, but you pay for it!
Ya the S2 isn’t good. It tore my shoulder up when I shot it. Never again.
I have the Mach34 s2 at 60# limbs low letoff mods and upgraded to the TAP titanium cable slide. It draws really smooth with a very small dump at the end of the cycle. I would agree, even the harsher draw cycles can be almost nonexistent if you shoot it a ton. thanks for the comment and appreciate you for watching.
Bro with the Recurve was hitting hard.

Thanks Ross
Good review . My only issue is if you don’t like the s2 cam on the pse then shoot the ec2 cam. Compare those with the other two.
We were limited with the selection of bows.
@@DeadHeadArchery that’s fair and I completely understand. People should understand pse offers additional options. I’m not a fan boy of pse and choosing a bow is all personal preference. Bowtech has made carbon bows for years. Carbon knight turned into the icon then into the zion. The zion is also a pound lighter.
true, but they never really were able to compete with other top manufacturers flagship carbon bows until now
@@DeadHeadArchery but what's the point having a carbon bow that isn't any lighter? I shoot the zion and it's a great bow.
Carbon one has a speed setting, I’m sure you were shooting it in the comfort setting
Probably, we will be doing a more in depth review on that bow shortly and I’ll make sure to go over it. Thanks for watching.
Reign? Is this a subtle hint to the Bowtech fans who will recognize the earlier flagship from them.
Good call
I'd be curious to see how the Era stacks up against the current Carbon fleet.
Same
Check out Elite Era carbon bow too
Will do
I'm looking at the Elite Omnia 32 from last year
Great review. Which FlipDisc setting on the Bowtech Carbon 1 was used for the draw cicle test and the speed-test? There are two possibilities, comfort OR performance.
Thank you for watching it. It was on comfort

Lol my dad was the opposite. He went back to the RX7U from the phase 4 cuz of the handle. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
What additions are you referring too ?

I find the bowtech little heavy specially for hiking in the mountains I’ll tack PSE Mach 34
It is, and I think the one this year is even heavier.

Wait wait how can Travis and Bret be in two places at once 😂 🏹 🎣 😂.
We don’t operate within the rules of this dimension
Why would you not consider weight!? That's the whole point in a carbon bow, is it not?

What about the Mach 34 with evolve cams?
The S2 is the harshest in our opinion, the other cam choices will be more comfortable on the draw
@@DeadHeadArchery would it be worth picking up with the EC cam?
Absolutely it’s a great bow

The PSE EC2 cams are so nice to draw
Yes they are, that’s what I’m running currently.

Gain 10fps on performance on the Bowtech.
