Just got a GT-1 and still trying to work it out. This is frigging amazing and I thank you so much! Keep 'em coming Brother! You are teaching me so much.
I'm sure, you can assign the Whammy pitch up or down one step, depending on Dime's tuning, assuming it's down, and then just adjust the pedal to fine tune it.
Hey Gary, thanks a lot for this Video. Unfortunately you can't see much on the display due to the poor contrast. could you write the positions of the individual tunings here? that would help me a lot :)
Gary.. Can you show us if this thing can do the micro pitch like the Eventide pitch shifting used in all the 80's songs, etc.. Van halen, etc.. ? Thanks man.. Really like these..
I have everything the same but the sound of the e from my guitar is still going through the pedal and and out the amp with a additional signal of the changed note
thanks... I think. Only thing you don't tell me is how to turn this on. It says OFF in the memory edit > PDL screen (top left). At the moment, my pedal simply adjusts volume.
I tried using the pitch shifter on mine to get a nice down tuned distorted tone and it just sounded like shit but I had no idea there was a whammy built in to the pedal that actually sounds good. Thank you for pointing that out or I would have never found that

i can't decide which one to buy between gt1 and gp100, then i saw the freeze effect and this, now i am going to buy gt1.
Hey Gary, great video! Quick question: I LOVE the pitch change idea, BUT, if I'm running the GT-1 into the effects send/return of my amp and set the GT-1 to "return", won't that disable the pitch shift pedal?
I go to memory edit, Switch on Pedal BND, place it before preamp (actually there is no difference in Sound). Then the effect is on 100% and Sounds normal with Pitch 0 ...by switching it to -1 or +1 the Sound gets weard... Ah, and Pedal Position is on 100%
Yeah I had the same issue, although I am on bass so take that with salt. GT1B vs Drop wasn't even close, ended up returning the GT1 and going back to my old ME-20B and picked up a Drop. Drop tuning aside was really disappointed with the GT1, handled like crap. Music store charged me $50 restocking fee the jerks. Ah well.
Curious as to what's really going on there. If your amp isn't loud enough you're going to hear the affected pitch through your amp and the acoustic pitch from your guitar. Also if your pedal is down -2, you should be hearing an E and a D, not an E flat.
@@GarySchutt i am an acoustic player and i need it for reverbs delays and also octave.does the octave effect has the polyphonic mode in the editing software?
So yes this does "work" but it sounds like total shit on bass, unfortunately. Recorded a few samples of GT1B, Drop and natural downtuning and wasn't even close. In blind testing I could pick out the GT1 100% of the time while Drop was much harder. Shame because the GT1B and Drop are the same price so having an integrated solution would've been great.
Great tip,
Pdl > Pedal Bend> position 100% > Pitch -5 > then scroll far right to assign UP
Pedal FX > toggle, not momentary
🔥🎸👍

I grabbed an fs7 but almost wish I went with fs6 since it doesn't take 9v battery
I use rc500 and gt1 with AAs sometimes makes the fs7 useless lol
After watching your videos on the GT-1 I really want one now :)
thank you so much. Your tutorial has made my life easier. Now I can play almost anything.
Bravo!
Gretings from Serbia!
I discovered this effect on my own and use it with Rocksmith to play different tunings. It is especially helpful since I have a Floyd Rose bridge.
I just got my first geetar with a FR bridge and I'm scared to do ANYTHING tuning related. This is going to save so much time and frustration lol
I just ordered a gt1... i will certainly be doing this.
Guys with Floyd Rose equiped guitars will definitely appreciate this.
Can you do Pantera tuning that’s a quarter step off?

I'm digging these! Straight to the point!
Bro THANK YOU for all the AWESOME info. Helping us SO MUCH. 🤘

2 questions, this pedalboard sounds better than a digitech drop or a pitch fork, with this one I can play in D, C#, C, B and A, good video!!!!

Have you tried adjusting "feedback" setting on the pitch shifter effect to check if it fixes the wobbly pitch/shifted sound?
Thanks a lot! You just got a new sub, keep uploading!
Pd: if you could figure out how to sound kind of SRV it would be awesome!
Thank you very much, this really works!!

Thanks bro!!! Big help for me 🙏🙏🙏🤘🤘🤘
Dude, this amazing. Like Holy Shit 👏👏👏
Is this possible in clean tone????
I have tried it but i couldn't
Can I chang the scale by using this methode..as like keyboardist do..they press a button and their song convert from one scale to another scale
my god how did yiu get that massive sound. definitely Marshall but what else ? Please
Love it
Great
do you have a Killswitch Engage and a RATM setup using boss gt1, thanks
I did this on my 7 string and my friend with an 8 string was jealous
Would tunings show up different in the tuner so you can verify the tuning you are in
how do i erase a patch i´ve accidentaly added to the pedal, please
awesome
Hiya brilliant , is it possible to get a open tuning ie open G ( Rolling Stones ) 👍
I was wondering the same thinking of Brown Sugar. Bit of a pain turning tuners just for one song!
Wow 🤯
ty
How many steps can it drop?
This is great. Can you remain that tuning while changing or adding effects?
Yes. You can still turn on and off effects while this is engaged.
@@GarySchutt wow! This is a life saver! We can switch effects in the same tuning! ORDERING GT 1!
:-( I don't get it. I go to Pedal BND, Change Pitch and it Sounds Bad :-(
Make sure the effect is before the preamp.

when i put the pedal down -2 i've got two sound E and E flat at the same time ?
Check to see if the whammy setting has a direct mix. Turn that to 0.

What distortion are you using? Are you connected to an amp or something else?
I use the MS I+II amp, and I run into the effects return of a Peavey Bandit112, with the output setting on the BOSS to the JC-120.
@@GarySchutt thank you very much!
Hey, thank you very much for making this video, Gary. It helped me out a lot just now.
Can you do this with clean tone?
Yes
@@GarySchutt Thank You So Much.i got this yesterday. And i just found out i have to edit effects on the computer to load it to the unit?Correct?
@@GarySchutt i am an acoustic player and i need it for reverbs delays and also octave.does the octave effect has the polyphonic mode in the editing software?
Everything in the editing software is exact what it in the unit. To run an acoustic I recommend trying the preamp off.

I was gonna sell this GT-1 tomorrow, but changed my mind lol
