I’m kind of in the first two and Im out camp but they have good material on every album. Some more than others.
    1. Shout At the Devil
    2. Too Fast for Love
    3. Dr. Feelgood
    4. Theater of Pain
    5. Girls Girls Girls
None of the rest hang well as albums. As mediocre as Theater and Girls are they way more listenable than everything released after Dr. Feelgood. Maybe that’s a nostalgia thing for me.

My own list ..Just my own preferences..
#1"Shout At The Devil" and my #2 "Too Fast For Love" totally rule! They are so wicked. When I first got those two albums back in 83, as an 11year old Sabbath and KISS fan, I fell in love with those two albums for life and wish Motley Crue would stay like that dark and kickass forever. I still love those albums and listen to them all the time. I actually love "Theatre Of Pain" a lot too! I liked it when it came out though it was definitely a slight letdown from "Shout" . But overall "Theatre" remains my #3. I still listen to it a lot. That would be my #3. The next two kind of went in order. When #4 "Girls, Girls, Girls" came out was my first semi big disappointment with the Crue, but I realized with that one and #5,"Dr.Feelgood" they had gone commercial all the way and I grew to like the albums. I still like them somewhat. I still went to see them live etc all the time.. "New Tattoo" I thought was pretty good. My #6. It was a decent album. Randy Castillo kicked ass on drums and the band went slightly back to an earlier sound somewhat and the songs were decent and Vince was singing good. It was was hard to pick but "Saints Of Los Angeles" #7, "Generation Swine" #8, and Motley Crue #9. I heard they are writing an album with John 5 on guitar and promise going all out heavy again. That would be awesome if it was possible to accomplish. I don't know why they ever changed after "Shout". I think the riffs would have to be way heavier and old style evil lyrics to ever sound how they used to.
One interesting story is that I was lucky enough to meet and hang out with Motley Crue in 1997 when Vince Neil first rejoined with Mick, Tommy, and Nikki. They announced one morning on the radio that they were doing a surprise press conference in Chicago at a Hard Rock Cafe restaurant and bar. They said whomever gets there earliest will get to hang out with the band. The minute I heard that, I called off work and went straight down there. I ended the first one in line. Haha. Later about 2000 people were behind me! They gave the numbered cards to the first 10 people in line. Later we called upstairs into a room to hang out with Motley Crue and get all of our stuff signed! The other 9 people in the room eventually left after they got their stuff signed. I never left. Just sat there as Nikki Sixx read my scrapbook I made when I was 12 in 1984! I made a 200 page book of magazine clippings from the "Shout At The Devil" era. They were looking at my scrapbooks. We ended up walking out to their van and talking for an hour. I had brought a whole garbage bag of old scrapbooks and my "Theatre Of Pain" tour program and "Shout At The Devil" carnival mirror. They signed everything on this huge table. Nikki and Mick were super cool and nice to me and so was Vince. Tommy was pretty quiet. After a while down by their van, they said they had to go after their tour manager came out. Then I watched their van drive away into the sunset. I had to go do a few shots and a few beers. I couldn't believe it! One of the coolest days ever.

Crue's antics have really turned me off as well as them using tracks live but they do still have a few great albums/songs. Definitely siding with Mick Mars. And I love the self titled album with Corabi since it's release. I was a fan of Corabi in his previous band The Scream. If you haven't heard them check them out.
Here's my ranking: best to worst:
    1. Too Fast For Love ( agree with you it's the best, it has a certain raw charm)
    2. Shout at the Devil ( a classic and definitely their best image, darker)
    3. Theater of Pain ( yes I could do without Smoking in the Boys Room but I love Use it or Lose it, Tonight We Need a Lover, Louder than Hell ect)
    4. Motley Crue s/t 1994 ( a heavy grooving great album, Smoke the Sky, Power to the Music, Hooligans Holiday, Hammered, Till Death do us Part ect)
    5. Girls Girls Girls ( Dancing on Glass my fave track)
    6. New Tattoo ( best album of the new millennium by far, Hell on High Heels, Punched in the Teeth by Love, 1st Band on the Moon ect)
    7. Saints of Los Angeles ( I see your points but I still like it. Has more of the old school vibe, title track, Face down in the Dirt, ect)
    8. Dr Feelgood ( yes it's very low here because I hated it when it was released, was so disappointed in the glossy generic uninspired poppy direction! I do like the title track. )
    9. Generation Swine ( total sellout unlistenable abomination imo. Do agree Glitter is the best song)

Growing up in the eighties, Shout At The Devil was huge. Like that one quite a bit. Theatre of Pain was quite disappointing, especially when you lead off with the single Smokin In The Boys Room. What a bad choice that was. After that, for me, it was progressively downhill from there and I lost interest quickly.

I really enjoyed your video. I’m a huge 80s Mötley Crüe fan. I will admit that I really just have not listen to any other stuff to come out after the 80s. This may be partially nostalgia, but I can’t imagine any of their later albums surpassing the five from the 80s for me personally. But I will try to open to being wrong about that as I listen to their later albums.

The best is that they did with Corabi in: Motley Crue. In it, they raise their level as instrumentalists. The songs are harder and have a much more solid structure. Besides, John Corabi's voice is a thousand times better than Vince's.

The only argument one can make for MOTLEY CRUE 94 record not being their best and its a very valud one,is that its no longer true Motley Crue, but that said,I was a massive fan of Crue throughout my teen yrs and was 20 when they released the self titled one, even from that time,I was in awe of that album,it showed that the band were not just images and stories and makes some cool part songs or songs about banging broads, but that they could really put together an awesome, heavy af record with incredible riffs and the drums were killer, way above anything Tommy ever did and of course,we might not like it,but John Corabi added SO MUCH to their sound besides a strong af,bluesy and soulful voice, but also a rhythm guitarist and a strong songwriter as well!!To this day I listen to that record and have it right with Shout and Tffl but if u want a banger damn near all the way thru 1-12 And even the couple of demos on the rerelease crucial crue masters were good enough to make a crue record,So with that said,I still have to say they should have tried to change their name or something because the album was good enough to do that cuz it would have sold definitely better then under the Motley banner, but I also know that a band that big is quite literally its own business,so the record company was nevever gonna let that happen, but its a real shame that FEELGOOD sold like 7 million albums and was not on this records level musically!!

I'm surprised Theater of Pain is so low. I liked it a lot. I probably would've put it higher up. I would put Girls, Girls, Girls above Dr. Feelgood, which is overrated imo. Definitely agree with the top two picks. I don't know which is #1 or #2; I could go either way, but I would definitely say the first two Crue albums are up there.

    7. Theater of Pain
    8. Saints of Los Angeles
    9. Generation Swine
LOVE the Corabi album. First 2 are solid. New Tattoo has too many catchy songs not to rank high. Dr. Feelgood, Girls and Theater all have good songs but I could probably make 1 strong album outta the 3. Saints and Generation do nothing for me. New album with John 5 should be interesting. I have no desire to go see em live. Vince just sounds rough and who knows if they're even actually playing live.

Me and my friends were so disappointed with Theatre of Pain, after the really good Too Fast for Love and then the perfection of Shout at the Devil. There's a few okay songs on there, but it sucks, for the most part. They lost their edge, once Vince killed the Hanoi Rocks guy.

Why do you have the Corabi album so high?? It's terrible, doesn't even sound like Motley Crue. Trying way too hard to sound like grunge which is not them. They rightfully fired Corabi soon after this one. It's probably one of the worst rock albums of all time, ranks up there with VH3.
