ain't it so; free improv's can take you out there. Came back after years to find myself zooming in hi-res to play(try) the screen like a real unit. Man, I Love real buttons and knobs! Right?
This isn't just a drum machine. It's a box that cracks open a hole in the universe.
Definitely one of the better sessions with this thing. Thanks for not playing generic techno

Ryan Dunlap Seriously, why can't an established producer be a fanboy? :))))) I don't see a problem with it at all. Besides, Cuckoo is an Elektron fanboy, I am almost sure he will admit it himself. :)))))))) If an established producer is a fanboy, then all the more credit to the unit and the designers. And I'm sure Mr. Dataline had a part in it as well. :)
theeltea Of course he can be both. And sure, all of us electronic producers are nerds in some way or another. I just said it because typically you find people using the term "fanboy" in a derogatory context when someone goes a bit over-the-top in the process of gushing about something, and I didn't find his comment to be "going too far" in the least. The comment was in defense of the man, as I suppose yours is too, so we're all in agreement then! :)

It has just the right amount of tactile sensations, buttons and knobs that I don't need a woman. Well, maybe that's going a bit far. But it is the best drum machine in at least 20 years.
ironic how we love that subdued muffed kick after working so hard on a loud solid low tone on with a 4k click for real kit growing up. Don't ever let the imagination die ,,,,,
A picture-in-picture of the LCD, like you did for that other video, was a great idea! I hope you'll do it for the next one. It makes your performance double as tutorial, despite not having narration. Please keep posting.

The cool thing about this jam is that it's totally different than what I expected from Dataline, and especially from a drum machine! Maybe that was his point? Regardless, there's no doubt that demos like this will sell more machines since people can now get their minds around the AR being more than just an analogue drum machine.

Love this demo. So many others just do basic techno drum beat stuff, this is way more interesting.
I really like this - noisy and textured - i hear too many straight techno tracks on this machine, but this is a whole different vibe. Nice work.

Ok...this is pretty sick. Great demo of you "messing" around so skillfully :) This was a great showcase of the Rytm's abilities - another great video to sway my decision over to this piece of kit. I was originally looking at a Tempest, but I'm loving this more and more.
Cant wait till Friday... my AR arrives to complete the Dark Trinity! Lets hope I can put it to good use ;)

I own Octatrack and AK , happy with these and I thought that I DO NOT need any gear, anymore, not now, not in the distant future. Until I saw this video. Crap.
Nice demo man. You made a kick ass track in 10 minutes. I got inspired by this. And WOW! That kick drum is SOOOOOOO perfect
Ok dataline, Id bought mine already (arriving Thursday) but now Im super hyped for its arrival, I love the crazy stuff you can do with the start/end points, distortion, filters and FX with simple samples in terms of creating these cool atmospheres & textures. Far more than a drum machine, and sonic experimenters lab in a box. Most Likely my favourite elektron box ever.
How quickly did you sell it?
Probably the biggest Elektron master's. I don't like the masterbatory usage of machines like you would see with a vinyl scratch DJs showing off mad skills. This guy just writes great music and is a master of these machines.
Just messes around... Makes something better than 99% of the people who try. 🤣
Very nice! Cenk is a wizard but this shows me you can do more than techno with a drum machine. My GAS is getting more difficult now lol
I really like this and I wish there was somewhere I could listen to a released version or something. I was actually looking for drum machines to buy and I stumbled across this excellent demo. Good work.

yea, but its samples can be manipulated with far more controls that offer extended range's beyond limited filters. Modulations, and multiple restacking, but like other comments, in the the like minds of like minds. Two toned primal beat ?

Nice atmosphere rhythmic sound
I own one of this as well an Octatrack, very happy with the Rytm in creativity cuestions, as well with the Octatrack, almost no need of computer to do a 4 hours of impro unless you want to record it. My only concern are the HT and OH sound of the Rytm not so good to me. and the AD/DA conversion on the Octatrack or the sound result of the samples at the output. If someone knows a way to improve or upgrade the Octatrack output or AD/DA it would be good to me. Don´t know if Elektron can do the upgrade as well more individual outputs would be better on the Octatrack. i know the price will goes up, but... the sound also will be much better. the EMU ESI 4000 sound a lot better with the same samples. Don´t be fooled old samplers used to use great converters, no matter if they only works at 16 bits 44.100 Hz´s they sound just great. Don´t know why. I own both machine and i can compare them side by side.

great jam!....by listening around 0:30 one realized they should implement a "LFO-to-sample-selection" feature...or maybe just a random sample selection mode with amount and synced rate
You can already assign LFO with Random Waveform to Sample Selection parameter. Or you can even assign different Sample to each step in the sequence! Or even assign different LFO destination to each step...

can u sample with the RYTM sample sounds like with the Octatrack and i like the sound you made
You can not sample with the RYTM!! You can put samples into it and change the start and end points but you can not chop them up like the OT nor can you live sample

Hi ! Are these sounds from the original MKII ? or did you export load samples on it >? ( I am asking because I am thining of buying the MKII and not in the mood to export / load or Sample anything , i want an intiutive machine that has all the sounds already embedded ) > :)
