Great video photography and dialogue. Thanks, Gil. Any pictographs?
Ok, now I see where the pictographs were.
They can be tough to see.
Doing the Bloodvein next summer with my son. Flying in from Bissett 14 days. Debating on where to start but thinking Larus at this point. Thanks for posting video. I’ll be watching all of it and gleaning as much information as I can out of it.
My wife and I would encourage you to get dropped off near the top of Murdock Lake. That way you get to see the pictographs and only have to do one portage. Also, the campsite just past the portage into Larus Lake is excellent. Thanks for watching and have a great rip. If you have any other questions please lets us know.
When you say top you mean closer to Larus correct? Murdock has two pictos pretty much at each end. I’m assuming you showed the set in the narrows in Murdock before you get into the rapids section you have to portage to Larus. Nice to know that a good campsite is that close still after the fires. Challenge is we’d probably want to get further west on Larus if the wind is good for it that day. Challenge then is I think the western part of Larus is way more burnt!
We’ll have been in Quetico in 22, and Wabakimi in 23. If we spend 3 nights in WCPP we’ll have completed what Ontario was calling the Northwest Wilderness Quest from 2016 to 2019. They had a patch for it back then.
@ryanhines2857 Yup that is what I mean. As for the wind it will be somewhat in your face most of the trip, since you are paddling west.
My wife and I have been to Quetico once and enjoyed it very much. It is a very well maintained area. If you very get a chance, come to northern Saskatchewan to paddle.
Hell ya! Been waiting for this! Did part of the foster this summer and it was the same thing....low water. Really low. Where did you get your spray skirt from?
Cheers!
We had it custom made by North
Water when we got the new canoe. It not only keeps water out, but on cool days it helps keep you warm. It does limit your forward line of sight when portaging.
The Foster is on our list too. There are just so many choices. I think I will be moving to a different video editor. I am having too many errors with the one I am using.
Nice video. The music really does take away from it (for me). Would much rather hear the actual outdoor sounds. Had to turn the sound off to get through it. But good job otherwise.
Great video of your trip.
The music detracts from the visual for me... irritated me even.
Please reconsider.
Curt
Will consider it for next time. Any suggestions where to get copyright free music.
Gil, I use epidemic sound. The only issue is there's a monthly fee. There seems to be a good variety.
Thanks man!
