What about using Sham-Wows instead of cotton and sponge??? Sham-Wows are supposed to be really super-absorbant. Vince told me it'll hold 20x its weight in printer ink and is made in Germany so it has to be good.

I am trying to reset the printer, but always money talks for that in many websites!. Why all printers has lifespan of printing to only 15,000 pages then nothing. We are spending more money to buy this shit thing but still losing our money for greedy business. i don't see how you get the ink tanks to separate from the body of the device. They don't just lift up like you have on the video. Workaround is to cap them tightly and have machine on its side as little as possible
Looks like you had other than a 2550 as I had to take off a second screw (to the right) that holds on the bottom of the paper tray holder. It helped to take off a third screw near the top left of the ink tray to loosen it as well. So is there a link to the "how to reset the ink counter" available from you?
It is only temporary...Printer heads will be damaged...Go for replacement of ink pads...It is costing Rs 150 in the market...Else u want to put high amount in replacing heads...

What really angers me is that Epson stops your printer from working after a certain period of time, telling you the ink pads need service, then stop the printer from working altogether, even when it's still printing fine. Then they have the gall to push you to buy a new one, rather than have it serviced. They are essentially disabling the printer for no good reason. Greedy bastards! They also know they can play these games, because as far as I know, no other company makes an Ecotank like printer, and the traditional ink jets from them and others are even bigger rip offs- using cartridges with about 3 drops fo ink for $30 - $40 (which cost them about $1), and then using every trick in the book to keep you from refilling and reusing them (a horribly wasteful scheme). It's all shameful!

Then I gave one as a gift to my parents, I was shocked to see that it would not let them print a page with out replacing the cleaner part. It came with a spare one but still that is not right. And they should have no right to do that. AT ALL!!! By the way mine is older so it didn't have an option for that waste dump to be a stopping point for me.

Google "epson ink pad reset software". The software is free to download and use. However, if you need to change anything, you need a one time key which cost about $10.

I've done an ET-2550 myself. It's almost the same. Look on the back of the printer, near the bottom, should be a single screw Unscrew it, slide container to the right, take out container, waste ink pads are in the container Wash them out under cold water until they are completely clean (or buy new ones £5 from eBay) Then put back together as before and don't forget to reset the counter using WIC Reset Utility (key is £5 on eBay)

Why do you leave people thinking that putting in sponges will solve the problem and eliminate the "Ink pad needs servicing" message when it will not. Old ink pads have to be thoroughly cleaned out to avoid ink spilling out your printer
The counter can be reset using WIC Reset Utility

Yes
The warning/error is based on number of prints. nothing to do weather the ink pad is full or not.

Can a waste chamber be inserted outside printer with the help of long wired tube so waste can be easily changed
