Am so glad you guys responded to 'dead boys poem 'one. It's one of my favourite songs by Nightwish. This composition clearly shows Tuomas' talent as a composer, but also Marco's who studied classical guitar for several years and also took tone engineer training. Empu is a very talented solo guitarist who always puts the music first and never plays more notes than necessary. Floor is a vocal coach and so talented. She is one of the best female vocalist in the world. The reason I love Nightwish's music so much is that they are so musically and technically the best what you can get.
Song Facts' This song is about a young boy who is misunderstood. He never has had anyone close or anyone at all to talk to, so his music is what he lives for and is where he puts his feelings. His music gives him the push to keep on living and he puts everything into it. He tries to improve his life but whatever he does, he can never get back to the way he used to be. He says that people shouldn't ask for a better world because the world has already been made and been done. In the talking part of the song, he is telling people not to remember him but to remember the music that was his life. He wants a mother's lap to sit on, he just wants to be loved. Tuomas was only 22(-ish) years old when he wrote this. Just a few years before he was a regular Finnish teenager and now he all of a sudden is the bandleader, composer and bandmember of Finlands biggest export product. Nightwish cut his childhood short. But he feels he may not complain, because his (Night)wish came true. This song is about how Tuomas defined Nightwish, but Nightwish also defines Tuomas.
If you want to see Troys chops on the acoustic guitar watch “how’s the Heart” the acoustic live with just him and Floor, it’s fantastic. As for the Buenos Aires concert all songs are wonderful it’s a feast for the ears and the soul.
As you suspected they spend a lot of time getting just the right sound. Most of the crew have been with them for years and know exactly what the band requires for each song.
Yes, this among my 30+ favorites by Nightwish, ever person on that band ultra gifted. Floor's voice, yes she is amazing, powerful, beautiful all in one. She can go any direction vocally on a dime. Tuomas has said this song is things he would love to tell the world if he died. Tuomas when he mentions himself in a song he is the Poet, Ocean Soul, the Songwriter, and yes the Dead Boy. The guy is a true living musical genius and poet.
From this very old Metal head, it’s not the length of the journey that important, it’s wonderful sights, sounds and emotions & most important the memories of the paths that you go on. Tuomas ballad's are so beautiful, you will love them all. Crewish is Nightwish crew members, many has been with them from the beginning. During the corona time when there was no concert's, no nothing they decided to do a CD of their own, covering Nightwish songs. It is worth checking out, the songs are hilarious. The second CD will be out soon, so check them out. Don't think you have done any of the songs from the album, Sleeping Sun, Wish I Had An Angel, Amaranth, Nemo and Elan. But if you want to have a good time with Nightwish music, this CD is the one and I can't wait for the new one to come out.

Amazing song and and amazing LIVE performance, but this is Nightwish for you! An other interesting reaction from you guys, actually a second look at the same performance is not that bad idea, since Nightwish songs are deep and so many layers, you will always find something new and appreciate the things you just saw.

What you experience with these songs, are the soul, emotions and passions, expressed in music and vocalized by Floor. Her ability to express emotions and passion with her body and voice are..... She is literally the song on stage, if you follow me, her ability to tell the stories are insane. And you can say that for all 6 members in Nightwish. Therefore I think it's perfect that you dive deep into the lyrics - you will feel and experience the songs with new eyes and ears. Great reaction 👍
My favourite song. Already with Tarja it gave me the chills and tears swelling up every time. This version with Floor I can’t stop the tears. As you put the tone is killing me here. The tone of the music and each one playing is quite special here, you see it for instance in Empuu’s face after his best and touching solo and the emotion in the singing is bringing out the message of the lyrics without listening to the words. It’s a crazy good song. I don’t remember you did a reaction yet to 10th man down, otherwise that’s another great oldy being upgraded by Floor’s input. Great reaction. One of my top 5 Nightwish songs. It is another very personal song for Tuomas, about how he wants to be remembered if he were to die. An apology to those who deserve it and throwing shade on those who deserve it as well. Told through the story of a young boy who feels misunderstood and uses his music to try and be understood but still is misunderstood. Tuomas has strong connection to the Ocean which he views as a place of refuge and solace, thus the Ocean Soul. Crewish is a band composed of Nightwish's touring crew. When the pandemic hit and concerts were shutdown most road crews went home and weren't making money. Nightwish's crew got together, with the band's blessing, and recorded an EP of Nightwish songs redone in different styles. It is fantastic and was actually number 1 on the Finnish record charts when it came out. There is an actual music video for their version of Sleeping Sun (done in Rammestein style). Also love Nemo (AC/DC style) and Amaranthe (reggae). They are getting ready to release a second album and got Tuomas and Tarja to perform on it.
Emppu really feels the sadness in this song. Only time I don't see him smiling through his beautiful solo. Love this song so much. So much emotion. LoL the most used words after a Nightwish song: WoW and Epic

Another excellent reaction. This song has so much meaning and depth. And when the flow goes from soft and haunting and everything kicks in it always gets me in the feels. Lots of epic contrasts to be explored and examined in detail. I have listened to this scores of times, still get something different on each listen. Speaking of Crewish-Unemployed Blacksmiths, they also play and have a totally different sound than Nightwish, heavier and almost death metal. Emppu’s guitar playing here does the same that Floor does with her voice, it touches you straight in your 💜. FYI there’s a version of this performance with lyrics in it. Try it bc it adds so much more when you can read the lyrics while listening.
It is hard,even impossible,to find favorite song from Nightwish. I remember when CCR was big name also here in Finland (At late 60's and 70's), I could not find favorite song from them either and every album was like diamond.

This is one of my favourite songs. I always get very quiet listening to this, it really gets to me. The composition, the build, the lyrics and not to forget, Emppu's solo. So simple, yet so effective. Love from the Netherlands.

A sometimes over looked song by reactors, bc it's a bit solemn and deep! Everyone's tone is so perfect, even live! This is the one video where Emppu does not smile...he is the one who really brings home the serious bend of this song! Emppu facts: he is a twin and a blackbelt! So, Crewish...during lockdown when there were no tours, the crew had no income, so Nightwish loaned them equipment and they recorded and sold an EP of Nightwish covers.

Hey guys, nice to see you again. Dead boy's poem is so beautiful, but the lyrics are so sad and Floor sings it so emotional. It is Tuomas's story, his feelings as child and how he wants to be remembered (he is a grown man ofcourse, but has still an innocent child within him with amazing fantasy). The lyrics are always very important in every Night Wish song, it is poetry. For a band with members out of countries where they don't speak English (accept Troy) I find it amazing how Toumas and Marko write lyrics. Floor is Dutch, but speaks and sings without accent and she is so elegant. IF you ever will do the Greatest Show on Earth, please take the one in Tampere live and watch till the subs dissapeare. And the lyrics are also important. There are live in Tampere versions with lyrics underneath. It is a 20 minute song about the birth of the universe, earth and how men takes his part in the evolution. It is based on dr. Dawkins book (very famous biologist/genologist and expert in evolution} he is the one who reads some parts of his book during and after the song. Take care all of you.

One of my favorites. An old Nightwish song that Floor gives a little different take than the original. My favorite Emppu solo. Tuomas was inspired to write this from the question, if you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you have to say today? Tuomas, as he often does, reverts to his boyhood persona, a time of innocence and being misunderstood, to provide his poetic answer. It’s personal, and deep. Worth a lyric breakdown for sure. There's two (that I've found) Shakespeare quotes in this song, both in the spoken parts. "If you read this line remember not the hand that wrote it" is from Sonett 71 "Live no more to shame, nor me, nor you" is from Sonett 72 But who better to borrow from than the great Bard himself?
Marko is a very accomplished guitar player, before he turned to the bass. Seems in Nightwish he often did the fingerpicking style when appropriate, while Emppu shines on other guitar styles. Does Crissy play normal guitar too or just bass?

That's correct. In Finnish mythology and folklore, the swan was the divine messenger between the living and the dead.

My favourite song. Already with Tarja it gave me the chills and tears swelling up every time. This version with Floor I can’t stop the tears. As you put the tone is killing me here. The tone of the music and each one playing is quite special here, you see it for instance in Empuu’s face after his best and touching solo and the emotion in the singing is bringing out the message of the lyrics without listening to the words. It’s a crazy good song. I don’t remember you did a reaction yet to 10th man down, otherwise that’s another great oldy being upgraded by Floor’s input. Great reaction. One of my top 5 Nightwish songs. It is another very personal song for Tuomas, about how he wants to be remembered if he were to die. An apology to those who deserve it and throwing shade on those who deserve it as well. Told through the story of a young boy who feels misunderstood and uses his music to try and be understood but still is misunderstood. Tuomas has strong connection to the Ocean which he views as a place of refuge and solace, thus the Ocean Soul. Crewish is a band composed of Nightwish's touring crew. When the pandemic hit and concerts were shutdown most road crews went home and weren't making money. Nightwish's crew got together, with the band's blessing, and recorded an EP of Nightwish songs redone in different styles. It is fantastic and was actually number 1 on the Finnish record charts when it came out. There is an actual music video for their version of Sleeping Sun (done in Rammestein style). Also love Nemo (AC/DC style) and Amaranthe (reggae). They are getting ready to release a second album and got Tuomas and Tarja to perform on it.
Emppu really feels the sadness in this song. Only time I don't see him smiling through his beautiful solo.

Another excellent reaction. This song has so much meaning and depth. And when the flow goes from soft and haunting and everything kicks in it always gets me in the feels. Lots of epic contrasts to be explored and examined in detail. I have listened to this scores of times, still get something different on each listen.
Speaking of Crewish-Unemployed Blacksmiths, they also play and have a totally different sound than Nightwish, heavier and almost death metal.

It is hard,even impossible,to find favorite song from Nightwish. I remember when CCR was big name also here in Finland (At late 60's and 70's), I could not find favorite song from them either and every album was like diamond.
I absolutely LOVE this concert! Everything is so good (almost Wacken level) and it is a heck of a playlist!!! There's plenty of so good songs in it!

So, Crewish...during lockdown when there were no tours, the crew had no income, so Nightwish loaned them equipment and they recorded and sold an EP of Nightwish covers.

Dead boy's poem is so beautiful, but the lyrics are so sad and Floor sings it so emotional. It is Tuomas's story, his feelings as child and how he wants to be remembered (he is a grown man ofcourse, but has still an innocent child within him with amazing fantasy).
The lyrics are always very important in every Night Wish song, it is poetry. For a band with members out of countries where they don't speak English (accept Troy) I find it amazing how Toumas and Marko write lyrics. Floor is Dutch, but speaks and sings without accent and she is so elegant.
IF you ever will do the Greatest Show on Earth, please take the one in Tampere live and watch till the subs dissapeare. And the lyrics are also important. There are live in Tampere versions with lyrics underneath. It is a 20 minute song about the birth of the universe, earth and how men takes his part in the evolution. It is based on dr. Dawkins book (very famous biologist/genologist and expert in evolution} he is the one who reads some parts of his book during and after the song.

One of my favorites. An old Nightwish song that Floor gives a little different take than the original. My favorite Emppu solo. Tuomas was inspired to write this from the question, if you knew you were going to die tomorrow, what would you have to say today? Tuomas, as he often does, reverts to his boyhood persona, a time of innocence and being misunderstood, to provide his poetic answer. It’s personal, and deep. Worth a lyric breakdown for sure. Marko is a very accomplished guitar player, before he turned to the bass. Seems in Nightwish he often did the fingerpicking style when appropriate, while Emppu shines on other guitar styles. Does Crissy play normal guitar too or just bass?
