If my memory is correct then the dress that Joanne is wearing on the album is her mother's wedding dress. She had a lot of talent but no manager. She did not want to tour with any group to build a following. She could have joined a local band bud did not. Her music genre was unusual to say the least, more like folk music than rock and roll or country. I met her in 1974 in Stockton, California, when she visited her uncle at the apartment complex where I lived. She liked to swim in the pool there. She spent a $10k inheritance for this album to fulfill a dream of being a famous singer. I enjoyed talking with her. I bought one of her albums, since lost over the years. There is a Japanese or Korean CD that I ripped to FLAC and enjoy listening to. The Centaur was her favorite song and Willowy Billowy Land is mine as it appeals to the child in me.
I love her song, the centaur very much.
Especially her voice and lyrics make me sad and raise me up~♡
