ULTRAKILL's 1-4 Recreated in Minecraft

- A few months ago I was inspired to remake the Terminal from Ultrakill inside of Minecraft, making use of the new Bamboo wood, due to its yellow color. This naturally evolved to recreating the Hellevator spawn room, which lead to me making the door open sequence... From there it just snowballed into what you see now. I am rather proud of the results. I'm more of a builder than a redstone/command block engineer, so this was a bit of a challenge.

Note: I am well aware of the Ultrakill Minecraft mod, ever since it released actually. I did not use the mod in the map as I see making THE MAP in vanilla to be more impressive than it would have been with the mod. Vanilla limits you more, which has you being more creative to find different solutions to challenges, even introducing new ones. No shade or +DISRESPECT to the mod, it's very cool and I apploaud the dev(s) for their work, I personally just didn't feel like it would've challenged me enough in the creation of the map.
Would be nice to use the mod for just the movement, but yeah more respect for doing this in pure vanilla.
Man, I wish there was a better way to create or add custom paintings in vanilla minecraft other than map art.

I did wonder why you used pressure plates and other manual triggers when you were clearly already using commands and could have done command-centric ways of detection, but you noted you're more of a builder than a redstoner so I guess that makes sense. I could never hope to build something like that, it's very pretty. Good work :D
yeah my skills with command blocks are very limited, I know you can make command block trigger zones, I've seen them at work, but that's way too complex for me. Maybe one day when I do learn command blocks better I can remake this. Who knows!
@@Soneone. It's actually surprisingly simple, you can use an execute command to execute on every player, But, that player has to be in a certain area.
so like
/execute if entity @p[x=10, y=70, z=-10, distance=..1] run [insert command here]
if you just put that on a repeating command block, it'll trigger when the player comes within 1 block of 10 70 10
if you want it to trigger only once you can set it to only work when powered, and then have a chain command block set to conditional (which makes it only trigger when the command block before it succesfully runs) to remove the redstone block next to your repeating command block!
theres way more complex stuff you can do with scoreboards and using them as variables, but that gets into borderline programming, so its a bit more difficult to wrap your head around.

I was half expecting a V2 armor stand to jump through the window only to be immediately pancaked by an anvil block falling from the ceiling lmao, great stuff
edit: also can we talk about how perfectly that jump into the end shaft synced up with the music? that was incredible

This was absolutely awesome and impossibly beautiful recreation for my more redstone centric play style
And the way you implemented the skull platform is so cool, and it is inspiring me to make a survival friendly redstone version that works
you could probably make a survival friendly version by having the doors open with flying machines and bumping up the overall scale a bit. all the commands used in the map are all redstone logic based so it shouldn't be hard to do. only issue I see is the V2 appearance, but you could use some armor stand slime launchers to mimic the effect
I love the idea of this and i love how much effort you put into this, Minecraft needs more people like you.

thank you! I made it myself by using the pose I used for the armor stand V2 sliding animation and tried to mimic the album art for the act 1 ost
the only possible improvement is making Clair de lune play on noteblocks
Ah, so I'm not the only one who wants to build Ultrakill levels in Minecraft...Would be cool to use a level as an underground base, using the shaft you drop through as the entrance lol
There have been other people trying to recreate ultrakill maps in mc too, so you're not alone on that front. As for a survival base it'll probably become a bit stale having to go back and forth up the hellevator
@@Soneone. I know one person who makes a mod for Minecraft that transfers ULTRAKILL gameplay, you can do super jumps there (well, you know the bug)
@@Liskanymeif you're referring to slam storage, that's just a part of the game at this point
originally unintended, but like with many other unintentional mechanics in ULTRAKILL, it was kept up until this very day

Amazing recreation! Visually it's amazing and all the triggers are perfect! Love the sound design too, it worked out really well! The banner usage too, very clever
now all that is left is the ultrakill mod that adds the weapons and abilities

this is absolutely phenomenal. i don't know how you could even do this stuff! you deserve much more attention my man. a small tip, the water at the final room looks a little too deep for how i remember it being, you could put slabs at the bottom, but that's just me man, keep doing what you do
I was gonna do slabs until I saw an upcoming feature for 1.20.2 where you can waterlog barrier blocks

I really expected like: "Oh, it's gonna have the ULTRACRAFT mod but I think it's gonna be cool anyway" but then the first thing I noticed was like "wait why is the Terminal like that" and immediately when the door opened I was just stunned on how great of a replication of 1-4 it is, even the Cerberi, the sliding V2 and Hank are here!

I've never actually beatn claire de lune the intended way. The first time I played it I couldn’t find any of the skulls (in hindsight, I'm just sumb) so I shot the stained glass window and was shocked when it worked
I have some suggestions for the level:
-For the windows , you can use glass.
-For the Gabriel Picture, use Paintings (multiple paintings is an easier choice , whatever you prefer!)
-I have seen the sky in Clair de Lune , Black Terracotta is a good option. Since the player can't jump that high you could place barrier blocks underneath or in the sides.
-For the lightsposts, Polished Blackstone (might) be a better option.
-And finally , I suggest putting light blocks in the dark places of the map (that aren't intentionnaly dark)
I am sorry if I am an annoyance, but I just can't hold myself.
-for the windows they're not see-through in the game, which is why I resorted to glazed terracotta
-I had the idea for the Gabriel picture but it's gonna be a big hassle and I didn't wanna bother. 100% gonna do it if I remake the map, including the sky
-I've already been using light blocks to place light where it looks like there is on the map. only dark area that might be too dark is the pre boss arena terminal area and the hallway between the 3 pedestal room and the main hall
don't worry about giving suggestions, I know there's stuff that could've been done better and I'm glad I can see people's opinions to give me ideas for other projects!

Play this with the absolute Ultracraft mod. Very nice!
the whole point is to recreate this without mods, otherwise it would be really easy to just use the blocks and decorations from the mod instead of trying to replicate them in vanilla.
@@Soneone.There is one problem, in this mod not a single block has been added yet, except for the elevator blocks, but basically only unique blocks will be transferred, like a golden brick from the fourth layer

I know only the hellevator blocks are on the mod but again, i prefer doing it vanilla

V2 really said "oh shit I entered too early, well there goes my entrance then time to go byeeee"
It would've been really cool if you had a bow in inventory that switched to a crossbow with commands when you grab the alternate revolver but the recreation is so fucking cool already and that's such a small detail
I've added the V2 fight to the map (for when it comes time to post it for download) and. I've used the crossbow and bow in an interesting way, let's say that much
Imagine having the ultrakill mc mod on this map and having a 1 to 1 experience in minecraft of what you can do on ultrakill

You couldve used barrier blocks with time set to night for the fake sky thing
You even made the skulls blue and put them in the areas and translated the parkour into minecraft bro thats next level

Good work, also if you want to mimic Ultrakill's doors opening, you can use the Create mod, if you wish of course
yeah I know Create can do doors like that but where's the fun in that
personally I'm not the biggest fan of using mods, it detracts from the creativity you have to use to make stuff work in vanilla
