I’ll be flushing and changing the filter on this one annually. I drive 70-80 mph 4000 miles every summer. Through the 100° Montana temps and over the Rockies and cascades and back. If it seeps a little I’ll get it the next year.
18ft lbs on the pan bolts on a newer 2004-2009 4L80E. I over tightened mine and the fluid leaked right out the bolt holes. Stupid stupid stupid. Lol ✌️
I didn’t want to get into all of that. Most people just run them until they don’t go anymore. The more a guy adds to a service like this the less likely the average person is to take it on. This was just quick and simple done in the grass. That’s how it looks and that’s what it is. I did look everything over and gave the bolts a bump just to make sure they weren’t
Previous owner was kind enough to round out the Allen head of the plug so I welded a lug-nut to it. I can’t imagine how messy this could be without one but I know guys do it.
Thank you. Really helped me. I'm about to do that on my van. Learning by UA-cam and by doing.
Your pan didn’t have the transmission mount in the way, so your pan removal and replacement was way easier than mine 😄 but good video!
Another little tip is putting RTV on the pan and then put the gasket on the RTV

Should check and retorque the valve body bolts they have a tendency to come loose.

Balls of steel with those ramps🤣
I wish I could call it bravery. But sadly it was more than likely stupidity. The one ramp does have a nice bow in it now.
Lucky duck havin a drain plug like that

@@MikesMischief ive never had a drain plug at all. Not fun
How did it shift after?
It was a little hesitant at first but after running it through each gear it shifted just fine and shifts fine even today.
Go have some fun now.
You should never put RTV on any gasket it will cause it to leak! either gasket by it self or RTV. not both together!
Do it right and itll be stronger than just one or the other.
Is that a 5.7 ?
Yes sir or ma’am.
I wouldnt trust a 3500 on those car ramps. Holy crap
I gave it a good shove first 😬
