Here’s what I do Randy. I disconnect the cooler line from the radiator the goes to the transmission. I put a clear line on it to a gallon jug and run the truck until it’s almost full. I shut the truck off and drop the pan and change the filter. I add 4 quarts and repeat the process with another 8 quarts. You will see a nice fluid color change On my last fill I add the Lubegard. That will get all of your trans fluid pumped out of the torque converter. I do it every fall on our trucks and haven’t had any transmission issues towing or plowing snow.
I don't remember what happened with the Fords, but with my Dodge a coupla years back, I realized that the holes on the new gasket were small enough to hold the bolts when I threaded them through the pan, then I just lined it all up and reinstalled her without too much trouble. 🤣🤣 I hate talking on the phone, too, but I also hate voice to text. I just regular text.
@@CountrysideStrong I'm sure I could but it would probably be better if I had a shop do it so it's on paper in case my trans craps out and the extended warranty company wants service records.
Hey rookie…. It’s ugga dugga not ooga ooga….. pssssshhhhh… other than that, good video! Don’t forget to check your Muffler bearings while under the truck
I know it's too late but check Scotty Kilmer YT. change fluid yes. Don't flush transmission ever! Sounds like you didn't flush, Whew dodged that potential issue.
@@CountrysideStrong didn't realize you were that close to Canada. IMHO it's always good to be free. But realize in an accident on a sportbike generally a loss is experienced by rider. God Bless

My trans has drain plug, not sure if it was stock on 98 2500 van or it was added, but love it.
