the modifiers stack up so quickly! Ive been doing a afflicted somncanth and great izuchi quest with a reduced time limit modifier and i get about 1k points per 10 or so minute hunt
One thing I have been struggling with is that Bahari’s research requests are always monsters that are 10s of levels higher than any of the monsters I have unlocked, like I have 1 of every monster investigation but they are all level 40 or 50 while he only asks for 60 and 70, the worst part is, every time I get my investigations to that level he has moved up to the next 10 and I just can’t keep up!
Yeah he usually uses your main anomaly level as a guide, which sucks a bit if the bulk of your monsters are lower than that. I've been pretty much relying on online quests by others to match it and crossing my fingers to get a match.

I'm kinda stuck in the same boat where baharı wants me to hunt lower tier monsters at advanced levels but because i neglected them they are in at single digit levels. kinda frustrating to be honest. it would be cool if you could lure out a specific monster by offering some sort of resource. maybe something like what they did for the guiding lands in iceborne
They changed the Target Ponts for A2 - A5 monsters in TU3. These are the new points (the Research multiplier is the same) A1: 180 x 1,8 = 324 A2: 220 x 1,7 = 374 A3: 270 x 1,6 = 432 A4: 320 x 1,5 = 480 A5: 380 x 1,4 = 532 A6: 440 x 1,3 = 572 A7: 500 x 1,3 = 650 There is now also a +200% adjustment bonus for when your Research Level 100. After that the bonus is 150% up to lvl??? (maybe 120)
Extremely good video. It's a shame the penalty for levels is so steep, it makes the grind from 261-300 quite a bit more tedious given the player drop off after 241~ is pretty significant since you don't really unlock anything significant after that. I feel like the penalty for level difference should stop after quest level 241+.
11:10 quest fails on third cart by default So with 2 faints it would fail on second, one would fail on first. So zero cart quest just brings you back to village ?
And here I was torturing myself soloing A5-7 multi monster quests, featuring staples as Apexes, Metal Raths, Variants, Elders and High level anomalies in a vain attempt to rank up. Seriously I have a quest featuring a 132 Gore Magala, tag teamed by Narga and Apex Mizutsune, with a copy of that quest subbing out Narga for Gold Rath. The benefit to multi monster quests is the extra essences for qurious armor crafting, and quests with Apex monsters drop more melding pudding.
Thank you so much for this guide, but I still haven't figured out an extra research point multiplier called "Other", which gives you 150% of your points (it's listed under adjustments just like quest penalties and bonuses). To me it seems random at this point, and would love any info on it.
Hi! Would you happen to know the level thresholds at which penalties or bonuses come into play? For example, I don't know if I would receive a penalty if I were to complete a quest 15 levels lower than I am. Is there any hard info on the ranges there? I can't find any other info online still after all this time. Thanks!
I received a adjustment of 300% while doing my own highest AR investigation. Although I forget to screenshot, I still remember it only shows single screen of the modified part. The only thing that quest is special is probably done by less than 5 mins. So whether done the quest in 5 mins give us extremely high bonus ?
Does anyone know what the "other" category in adjustment refers to? Not the one in completion points, that’s a different "other". Because, on the one in adjustment, I got 400%(!!!) in a pyro kadaki quest which rocketed my point total skyhigh and I would like to know why that is so that I can reproduce it.
I have a question. I've been leveling up a Lunagaron quest to make it a super boss but the quest condition is faint 5 times. The quest level is 83. Would it be faster to just get my rank to 100 doing other investigations and then go back and farm the quest level up? Or would that matter if I'm just trying to level up one specific quest.
The only issue with that quest is the 5 cart condition, which means you get a point penalty multiplier for it. If you don't mind then it's fine to level it up. Otherwise, it would be ideal to level up a Lunagaron mission that has no penalties, at least until you cap out your overall level.
So my anomaly level is 81 now. Been doing lots of high ranking investigations. What's the point though? Does it give more mats? I don't seem to be getting more stuff?
Level 81 is actually more for unlocking higher rank monsters for Anomaly Quests (which was capped at A4 prior to this). I haven't reached the LV100 cap myself but it sounds like Capcom has plans for raising it past that eventually so I still plan to reach it in case some content gets gated behind it.
I actually haven't had a chance to test since the latest update, unfortunately 😞 (been a bit swamped with work and a review backlog, so apologies for not being able to answer your question!)
Well that's strange. I never got stuck at that level so not sure what's the reason. Are you doing investigations that are close to your level? Have you tried joining online missions and get the same results?

Yeah even just making it easier to raise levels would be nice so you don't feel like you're wasting time from the point penalties

Found out this 150% bonus is for anomaly research levels 1-120 as of Sunbreak version 13 (TU3)
I'm 22, and I will still cackle at the funny number.

I can certainly relate. I actually initially thought that I was getting twice as many points because of the way the completion screen was set up.
