there were two engines in Backdraft Engine 17 from the main house and. Engine 51 from the house where, Inspt Rimgale (Robert De Niro) office is. Both trucks are seen in multipule scenes. The High Rise Fire where the Tim (Jason Gedric) is burned. You can see both trucks when they load Tim, in to the ambulance. The Big Factory Fire when Steven (Kurt Russell), is loaded in the ambulance as it pulls away, camera shot widens and you see both trucks. And the Funeral Scene Engines 17 and 51 are used to carry the coffins of Steven (Kurt Russell) and Axe (Scott Glenn).
One thing that I have noticed that is missing from the cab of this rig, is the cassette stereo that was mounted to the dash of the rig, behind the windshield.
Very neat Looking YES the great movie ( Back draft) bought a 1971 SeaGrave Engine with 8V-71 Detroit Diesel, 5 speed Transmission. Just because of the Movie and manly because I Remember ( Mike Stoker) as Driver for Engine 🚒#51 on TV show. Granted my Engine 🚒 is a SeaGrave. Growing up looking at Fire Engineering Magazine. I Loved the SeaGrave cabs. I was able to get BIG bell for her. Added TWO electronic SIRENs, she only had the Federal "Q" on nose. I put a shiny crome siren speaker on drivers side bumper. Other speaker under that one below bumper. I can do ( YELP & WAIL) at same time. Only in Parades😊 I am slowly adding more Surplus Old Hose on beds. I have surplus Ladder on side, all donated to my Engine, by local Fire Cadet program, when they have to surplus Hose that wont pass hose test. I put the big old school (Federal #184) back on mount on Roof. The Department before they sold her. Had upgraded to a ( twin sonic) just like squd #51s.
