That was exactly what I was thinking. Everyone in the family probably had a decent car already so they chose the charitable move. Very good thinking on their part. This is random, but I inherited my grandmother's Camry that she got new. She maintained it very well and I'm thrilled with the car.
Probably the same situation as me , my grandfather died when i was 15 and noone wanted his car even though it had 45k miles so it was worth some money & i got it , was worth 6k im glad i kept it though still driving like a beauty.
I inherited a 2001 Buick with the unstoppable 3800 that I decided to keep as a backup car, whomever inherited that Buick is gonna regret not doing the same.
Nice deal! I drive a low mileage '06 Allure CXS myself. (The LaCrosse was sold as "Allure" in Canada) The 3.6 rips when you want it to and they're invisible to cops.
To unlock the trunk on the Buick LaCrosse you need to press and hold the driverside door unlock button. I had a Buick LaCrosse so trust me on this one 😉
I daily drive one of these, mine is the Canadian version which is called an Allure. One of the best cars I’ve ever owned. I have the 3.8 motor in mine with a column shifter and a bench seat in the front. 65,000miles on mine not a spot of rust. Every option in it except leather and a sunroof. You got a really good deal!
I sold Buick’s for several years till 2013 they are all well built the lacrosse is a great candidate for being a runner with super high miles !!! I’ve taken them back in trade from loyal customers with over 300k and other than the buttons being worn off the cars always still ran and drove perfect.. GM is just as reliable as any foreign manufacturer…
The color on that Buick is called Antique Bronze Metallic Randy. I own the exact same model of the Canadian version the Allure with the 3.8 series III. Bought mine 2yrs ago for a "winter beater" here in Canada. Great car runs like a top! You want a chuckle? Open the glove box and notice the hook for hanging the trash back from! lol
If you get a remote programmed, it should have remote start also. My grandma has an 06 buick lacrosse cxl with a column shifter and 3.8 instead. They are phenomenal cars.
Enjoyed watching this. In 2012, I bought a blue 2006 Lacrosse with the 3.8, and 40,000 miles. Kept it until 2020 with 173,000 and traded it in on my Camry. My wife and I took the Buick on vacations and it was smooth and dependable. I lost her to cancer in 2015, so that Buick will always hold a special place.
(I’m sure you’ve figured it out at this point)To open the trunk on the lacrosse you just hold the unlock button on the door. My great grandmother had a 2007 Lacrosse CX with the series 3 3.8 great driving car
@@sammax4245 shop lights. I thought that was pretty clear. Also, he's not in a cold climate. Dozens of companies use LED lights. What were you thinking!
@@tony_25or6to4 LEDs lights don't generate enough heat to melt the ice and snow on car headlights. Can't see sh@t no matter how bright they are because they blocked by ice. Looks like drivers side rear quarter has been repaired or replaced. Different trim on quarter window and paint is slightly off. Otherwise, looks pretty good. Great find.
I love the buick just knowing that a older person had a vehicle and they had pride and took care of it says a lot now days you have technology and emissions crap on vehicles a good example older cars are still running to this day yet brand new vehicles sitting on the side of the road broke down im only 24 years old and my truck is a 1997 ford f150 that my dad ordered from a dealership
From the looks of the Buick, I'd say it was bought new by an elderly couple, garage kept all its life, eventually they passed on, nobody in the family wanted it, so it was donated.
Amazing, you don't buy Buicks that cheap around my area, Pontiacs and whatnot maybe but if there's a LaCrosse or Lucerne at my local public auction it goes for a couple grand cause they're in such good shape
One of those models drove well but had an underpowered motor that had a lot of issues in the valve train and the upgraded option was the Northstar motor according to Scotty Kilmer.
SCORE! Again... good call on the Buick. I could have sworn the Pontiac was a LeMans, but now that I look at it more, Tempest makes sense. I've just never seen a Tempest convertible. So you have another rare car, Randy. 👍🇺🇸
The registration sticker expires 11 of 2016. So I would have to assume someone passed away and either thier children or thier estate manager donated it, seeing as it has 180,000 miles they probably felt they wouldn't get much for it. Especially having a dead battery and all and not knowing that was the only issue
you ever find a 61 Buick Special with a nail head v6 please let me know. And you might want to keep an eye out for the and 61/2 tempest with the slant four pontiac which was literally half of a 389 V8 with a torque tube going to a rear automatic or 4 speed transaxle another tempest indeed some were even supercharged
I have a 2006 LaCross with 68,000 Miles. Still looks and runs as new. Everything works perfectly. 30mpg on the highway. Same color as this but bench seats.
Hi Randy, bigjrob22 here love the vids. On those particular buick lacrosse model the truck open button is intergrated into the unlock button on the dr door panel. I think you either have to hold it for a few seconds or push it twice.
Great job randy !!!! Worth it all day . I could get $3500 in my area . The car is compared to the impala . I can’t keep cheap cars on my lot at all . They want running transportation with ac. This car would be great .this would last 1 day .
Great find. You may have found a good 3.6L (with no timing chain issues). According to the back of the car it is a "Bick". Should find a u, to make it a "Buick".
The trunk release button in a 2006 Buick Lucerne can be found near the driver's footwell on the left side of the dash below the steering wheel. This will allow the trunk of the vehicle to open up. You can also open the trunk by pressing the button that is located on Your key fob. If the trunk does not release that can be a sign of a problem with the actuator for the lock, or an issue with the actual latch itself being out of alignment. If Your trunk does not open with either of those then there is a manual release that is inside of the trunk that can be accessed through the pass through in the back seats of the vehicle.
I wish I had gotten that lucky with my 2003 Pontiac Montana, it's one owner was an old retired ex-marine who passed away. It had 156000 well maintained miles on it but in the last year since I bought it from his daughter it's been constant repairs. I think it's a Christine too, but instead of fixing itself its trying to destroy itself, lol. I don't think I'll ever buy another GM made after the late 90's again. But Buick used to make really good cars, I'd be tempted with this one.
Haha The tempest is a GTO LOL I almost got blow-by-ridden very pretty red two-door hardtop 67 tempest one year with a 326 power glide I don't know what the Pontiac called the powerglide
Your LaCrosse is built on the newer "W" platform, same as the Chevrolet Impala, Pontiac Grand Prix and the Oldsmobile Intrigue, even though the Olds was discontinued in 2002. The Intrigue was due to get slightly larger headlamps, just like the Lacrosse! I just bought a 2011 Buick Lucerne CXL with 88,412 miles from Copart in Wichita on May 2, 2022; only $2,250.
Probably owned by a super senior, the family did not want the car thinking it was too old, not stylish enough, not cool, so donated it. Perfect as a commuter to beat around.
remember in winter the dooors would not shut at -20 and the windows got stuck open if you want to change the head light assembly you have to drop the bumper .
It's a shame I couldn't get that Buick directly from you. I know someone who is in need of a car and I'm guessing it would be reliable enough to be a daily driver. Good luck on the auction!
Huh, that's weird there was no kind of button or lever to pop the trunk; I rented a 2010 Buick Lucerne from Enterprise one time and I just simply pushed the trunk release on the remote key fob.
That Service Theft System is for the Wiggle you have to do in order to turn the Key my 2012 Impala Did the same it went away on its own and i still had to wiggle the key in order to turn it

I have a burgundy 2007 cxl hahaha! Crazy to see this for so cheap.. mine is fully loaded with 18 inch rims and sunroof I definitely wouldn’t let it go for less than 3k. Won’t happen though after I fixed the plastic coolant elbows I haven’t had 1 problem with the car. Owned it 4 years as my first car
They are beautiful cars I have one my self 398000 miles one the original engine and transmission and it still purs like a kitten and she still pulls fast

That was exactly what I was thinking. Everyone in the family probably had a decent car already so they chose the charitable move. Very good thinking on their part. This is random, but I inherited my grandmother's Camry that she got new. She maintained it very well and I'm thrilled with the car.
That's an old rumor I hope never dies. I'm old, and I drive like a Boss.
Yup, the higher mileage with a whistle clean interior screams that it was an older persons car.
@Kent Teffeteller And their clientele tends to be responsible :)
I love the Buick Roadmaster / Chevy Caprice wagon with the LT1 like crazy.

Agreed brother Id keep it if I was given a Buick 3.6 or 3800 shoot why not keep it as a spare car even as a daily!
I just bought an 07 with the 3.8. Love the car it’s so luxurious and comfortable. Looks great too
That is a LaCrosse. They are great cars, but are known for electrical issues. I believe you got a winner there.

Randy,
Are you sure that the Buick should be idling in excess of 1K RPM like I saw in the video?
2 ways to open the trunk: Remote should have a trunk button, plus hold the unlock button till trunk pops.
It looked to me like the Tornado still needed a little more time to finish de-sulfating the battery,,, the 100% led was still blinking,,, :-)
im looking for a new socket set any suggestions randy, something unexpensive and reliable
Is there a place under the emblem, to unlock the trunk?
Im seeing similar cars year, make, model, miles, just over 3k, great win
Randy you gotta hold the unlock switch up to open the trunk
How does the repair mode work on that tornado
Are the "Reverse Lights" stuck on? Where can you buy a battery for $50?
