    It's good to live near an airport that is a hub of one of the major airlines. This means that you can get direct flights to all the major and many of the smaller airports. That is my situation, living in Central New Jersey, Newark Liberty is where I fly in and out of and I fly United almost exclusively. The downside is that the United terminal is the most crowded at Newark and drop-offs, pick-ups and TSA are always busy or beyond busy and you have to make extra time for everything, especially for TSA, where the line and wait can be nightmarishly long and stressful when trying to make it to the gate in time.

    SkyWest is by definition a major carrier, but would have been fun to see Simple Flying explain how it’s home is in Rural Utah…

      SkyWest may have a large fleet and operate a large amount of daily flights, but I'm not sure it can be called a "major" carrier when it doesn't sell it's own tickets or operate flights under its own name.

    • @prorobo
      @prorobo Рік тому +3

      A handful of regionals are “majors” going by the “1 billion annual revenue” definition. None of them sell their own tickets. And none are career destinations for pilots.

    Denver is an interesting airport. It’s Frontier’s home city and the only city it calls a hub. It’s also Southwest’s focus city with the most flights per day. On top of that, UA is turning DEN into its hub with the most flights per day.
