This is awesome, Ryan. Thank you for the video I actually had to turn the volume on my tv lower cause of the jet engines. I should invest in some ear protection. Lol
Looks like a fun job! Obviously I know there’s probably some parts of it that suck, but if I were to ever work for an airport, turnarounds would be it.
Thank you for these amazing vids! Any idea how long it takes from obtaining an airside pass to having the first training day? Would be a massive help to know as I’m still waiting to hear back and also panicking that they forgot me 😂

Great video Ryan. I just resigned from my ramp job at YYZ yesterday. These videos will remind me of my ex ramp job now. Also could you make a video of you stacking bags please?
I do air transat from LGW and i can say you guys struggle with getting those A330 out on time 😂 Thank you glad you find these videos good and remind you of the good parts of airport life
Hey Ramper Ryan do you mind me asking do I need to go on a college course to become a Ramp Agent or can I leave Secondary and go straight to becoming a Ground Handler?
You dont need any college or university degree to do this. Just have very good decision making skills and apply and show you have what it takes to do the role
Don’t think it was a spark. To me it looked like a puff of smoke from when the fuel was injected into the engine (which is normal) that passed in between the camera and the red beacon light on the belly of the aircraft. The red beacon light only flash intermittently so it made the smoke look red for an instant and may have seemed like sparks. You are suppose to see the beacon light a lot more, but either there is something wrong with the light or it’s the camera that is recording with too few frames per second to pick it up properly.
I joined the railway 40 years ago. In comparison to where the wages are now it was poorly paid. True money pays bills but I'd not change my career choice even with a low wage as I got the job I wanted and still enjoy.
The big cable they connect in the beginning? It’s ground power. When the engines run they produce the electricity for the aircraft. But at Gatwick they don’t allow the ground crew to approach and connect the power while the engines are running. So the pilots start a small turbine engine in the tail called a APU to produce electricity so they can shut down both engines and the ground crew can approach and connect the ground power. When the aircraft eventually is powered by the ground they can shut down the APU again. We would prefer to not have to start the APU, but the UK are not very common sense when it comes to their procedures so we have to do it this way.
And all the while you're doing this, there's at least 50 people watching you out the windows!
All not paying attention to the crew doing the safety demonstration 😂
Flight attendants screaming to make you pay attention 😂
Have to admit that I have never really noticed the ground crews work, but it is really fascinating. Great video Ryan.

No 30% in the front and 70% im the back? We have been forced to do that by Norwegian to avoid tail-tipping.

So odd seeing a Jet Blue plane in the UK and I don’t know why? (Yes I know they started transoceanic flights!)

so does every airline just have their own stairs and so on sitting at the airport
@@pingabl3 no its just the ground handler use to be owned by the airline. Hence the branding
