Are Meal subscription kits worth it? Unsponsored green chef review from a frugal |Budgeting mama!

- First of all, welcome to my channel and thank you for clicking on my face!
I have been quite vocal with my negative opinions on meal kit subscriptions, so I thought I would put them to the test and see if my opinions are valid or if getting a meal kit subscription box (we decided to go for green chef as it has the most vegan/vegetarian options from what I could see) would actually change my mind.
I had a BUYAGIFT voucher about to run out and saw that I could get an 8 meal box for just £2.99 rather than the over £60 it was meant to be! I put the meals to the test and share with you all my thoughts on meal kits and whether I now think they are actually worth the huge price tag they come along with!

Great to finally see a review of a meal subscription that seems realistic as opposed to sponsored and glowing. I'd be very interested in you seeing remake the recipes yourself with own bought ingredients

Those do look good! I guess it helps reduce food waste too. I do t try new recipes because of having to buy all the little oils and stuff that you need because it's a waste on buying it if it's not gonna get used again 🙃 I think k I'm going to give the kits a go. Thanks for doing this video.
Hi Amelia that was great, I have never used them as you say they are so expensive for what you get. i love that you used the voucher to get it to try though, one of my friends had something like that for a while and let me borrow me the cards and I made meals from them on my budget.☺You are looking well. x
Interesting - I had the Hello Fresh vegetarian meals for a while some years ago - they were very expensive, and sometimes they got the ingredients wrong - one time I got a kidney bean chilli recipe, and they forgot to include the kidney beans! They did refund my money for that, but yes, these chefs do not seem to realise that veggie/vegan people do require far more vegetables than a meat-eater. I also found that the meals were very repetitive and were just variations on their themes, just with different spices added! I would not go back to having these meal kits!!!
We used have the same issue with hello fresh portions were no way near enough for 4 people .An expensive way of shopping.X
