I am a single mom of 2 with no help from dad. We thrift so much and my 8 and 9 year old love it. They understand buying things at a reduced amount and finding new items there and not having companies make more stuff. Then we find people to hand items down to. We declutter twice a year. I use the envelope system for savings. I love your list! I thrift christmas presents. I paid off 3 credit cards last year.
Love second hand. It’s quite often brand new or as good as new. Done loads of my Christmas shopping on Vinted, love it! The whole family is on board with it too. 😊
Love your channel, I am embarking on a low spend year to increase our mortgage overpayments with the aim of being mortgage free in 5 years! Your channel really keeps me motivated. Please keep making more videos :)
Great tips , we do most of them too. We do have a Amex credit card with a direct debit to repay straight away and do our food shop and petrol on that, it does benefit us with discounted flights or companion vouchers as we travel regularly abroad to see family.
Thankyou so much for sharing and your enthusiasm. We are in our id sixties. We have followed 90% of these tips for many years, and are now debt and mortgage free with a few savings, ( not vast). We are also responsible for an elderly relative. We are now going to downsize our property to realise capital for our long term retirement (and be near our lovely grandchildren). My one special allowance is for hobby (ies) of spining, knitting, weaving and sewing. So I dont shop that much second because I make so much ( and repair) . Interested in the cash back app though. Will look into it. Also 37 years of living in our family home means the next 2 months of decluttering will hopefully reap some cash! All the best for the New Year🎉
I love second hand. Cheaper and you can pick up some awesome things. I found a Jasper Conran Evening gown for £1 and charity shops are a great place to pick up Christmas jumpers too. We dont have a car, way too expensive. We walk everywhere, keeps us fit also. I don’t have a credit card either, learnt how terrible they are when I was younger
When I film these videos I just wing out random numbers as examples and because we don't go out to eat I honestly never now what the average is anymore 😂. Thank you!!! Happy new year 🎊
I cannot EVER understand the amount of ppl who do not seem to grasp the eating out /takeaway thing. It's basic stuff . Why pay people overpriced money for food that you can cook better at home cheaper? When I was younger people only ate out at birthdays or on special occasions not every week. Same thing with takeaways.I don't think I have ever bought a takeaway and i have certainly NEVER ordered food delivery Yet there are people out there who order in several times a week!! PS anyone else think we should bring back saving up for things and not getting into debt? I have never had a credit card and do not intend to ever have one.
How have you found a Sim only with unlimited data and calls for only £20 a month for 2 ppl? I have been looking at Sim only rates for yrs and mine is less than that but has a very small amount of data and thats the best UK deal I can find.
We have it through EE and when we called around when looking for a better deal on broadband that was something they offered. Then if/when that deal runs out we will just call around again and see if we can find a better deal. ☺️
