This guide surely is a few weeks old. Best build for soloQ right now is Runnan's into BT and then standard itemization.

John Andrew Because Runaan's gives you a massive attackspeed boost, as well as the small projectiles apply the rend stacks, the BT following gives the AD your missing as well as enough life steal to survive through those mid game power spikes of other champs (Corki, Irelia, etc)
I usually go Runaan's-Bezerkers-BT-LW-IE-GA/BV
You can also choose botrk instead of BT
Michael Chen I don't see how you'll survive laning phase with runaan's as first item, by getting hurricane you rely even more on extended trades, wouldn't champs like graves completely demolish you if you rush runaan's? Or any adc that can trade quickly and effectively?
I prefer to get hurricane near the end of my build if I feel safe and can rely on my team to peel for me.
You Rush a Runaan's because it's 1400 beneath an IE so by the time a graves gets a BF and Pickaxe, you will have your runaan's, and by the time he has IE you would have Bzerkers (that is if you hold your own), and if you use your passive right, it makes it hard for him to land his ult.
Though there are multiple builds for kalista, Runaan's is just an extremely popular choice

Thanks, quite informative. Can I suggest ruins hurricane & blood thirstier, you cant beat that life steal sustain.
furor berserker boots / bloodthirstier / runaas / botrk / wits end / frozen mallet
combination works as follow
furor boots + frozen mallet provides more speed while AA and slows them down
bt+runaas ends up giving you higher than 20% because of the triple hit action
botrk+wits end provides you more life steal/magic resist while giving you tons more attack speed and ando gives you the dmg u need to melt down anyone
With the nerfs to kalista i would recommend building hurricane on almost every build as a second item. The reason is because it is not very expensive only 2500, it doubles your attack speed if you have zerker greaves on top of it and it lets you fire 2 extra spears to nearby targets witch allow you stack a bunch more spears on different enemies so you can target an enemy directly and let the hurricane stack spears on a minion and even if ur rend wont kill the champion after they get out of rage it will still kill the minion and reset your rend. Also in team fights its good because while you are bursting down the enemy acd once you rend it will also hurt say the enemy support or mid lanner or what ever for a lot of just unexpected damage. Kalista is one of the few champions to benefit so much from hurricane so i would definitely build it.

But in the teamfight you described, 9 out of 10 times you are dead before doing 2 aa`s.
In teamfights your just doing your job of killing high priority target like a support or adc and you do that the same way you would normally do it. Your not rushing in you just play it normally but if you have hurricane your spears will stack on other targets so when you rend it wont just kill the adc or support but will also do damage to other targets. I fail to see how your dead playing that way unless the teamfight just goes sour in which case you would be dead anyway.
brcause as adc you DONT go for the high priority targets. Well except for when they are heavily out of position.
Thats what i meant I'm not saying dive into the enemy team to get them I'm saying stay on the back line and hit who you can but aim for the higher priority targets. Although kalista can dive a little more than most as long as she has high attack speed and the enemy has no cc on their team or they already used it.

OrganicHoe Runaans is mad op in lane. If anything, it clears minion waves fast, removes any minions around ur target in a 1v2+minions fight, has the highest attack speed out of all the attack speed items. Its the most common attack starter items now (for kalista that is). If u have the right rune sets and land ur last hits perfectly, it doesnt take long to build. the only difference is the kill cap vs an easy hit champ like draven.

Marco Hope i agree, BT into hurricane's waaayyyyy more better, but keep in mind that this guide was made when kalister just came out not too long
Abacinate Burn the current standard kalister build's BT/botrk>hurricane/shiv>LW> the rest is rather self-explanatory

does anyone know how to rebind with a champion halfway through the game? I was playing a game with a nami support and i was asked if i could rebind with the alistar jungle, I got another spear but it did nothing

Lol, idk if this is just outdated or DL was drunk when he made this. Literally 99% of the things he said were wrong. She's amazing in soloqueue, she's a god at last hitting under tower, her laning phase is great if you rush zerker greaves... i could go on and on.
99% of the things you do can work in bronze. Try it in challenger.
R Vale This guide came out right after kalista came out. You can get off of your high horse.

How do u use martial poise by just clicking around? Do u hold a key or something?
You auto attack, and click the ground thats in the direction you want to hop, and when kalista throws her attack, she will hop in ur clicked direction
George Janke ive tested that, kinda inconsistent unless u know ur attack move well
What i do is I hold shirt while right clicking because of you don't hold shift its a regular move but if you do hold shift its an attack mo r and it lets kalista atack and jump at the same time
But Q is not that hard to hit i guess better than ez ... i prefer something what is faster that slower and wider
I know that this video is old, but building Crit on Kalista is bad no?
80% Crit with Infinity Edge (300 AD+ and 1,92 Acttack speed) make Kalista be a Monter at Mid game

this is a pretty shit guide to kalista, doesnt talk about attack-move commands, auto spacing, matchups or why BT is sometimes a priority item.
