Do we need any license for creating and selling POD? Or is that something that a design or design platform should already have? If we need the license, where do we get that from? 💛✨🥰
Thanks for sharing this info. I stared my shop in February and am starting to get a few sales and was going to be disappointed if I couldn’t use Canva because it is easier than other design software. Many thanks for all of your videos - they’ve helped me so much over the last few months to not lose hope ! Looking forward to watching many more.
Can you please do a video on Resale and sales tax exemption certificates? I want to start my POD store but once I got to this portion on Printify I got so confused. I'm not sure if this is something I need to do or not. Thank you so much for all of your videos they have been so helpful!!
Canva got a new update on mobile where it will outline and add your initials if it is "edited enough" from the original. It drives me nuts because it is kind of glitchy right now and will say something is good and then change it's mind later lol.
hey cassiy!!! I’ve had a shop for almost two months and have had a few sales. I’m starting to get worried because I see all of these scammy tik tokers showing about making money doing this exact thing. And the comments… lord it’s so negative. Makes me think this IS too saturated. What are your thoughts on this…
Thank you, this is good to know! I really love Canva and I use it for the majority of my designs. I was wondering, do you still do shop reviews to coach others on how to improve their Etsy shops?
No so sorry Rachel but I no longer offer any 1:1 coaching services but my course is currently in a beta test with some sellers and will be coming out soon on my channel if you might be interested in something like that!
Thank you so much Cassiy. Can you please show us a video how to create different design on same color tshirt.Hiw to connect to printify directly please please.Bless you
This is a very manual process, you can't do this and have it in one listing with multiple different designs on one shirt color and it just be connected to Printify. here is a video I made on how to sell personalized listings, it would be much more similar to how you have to do it in this video! ua-cam.com/video/HWIfZfXGuMI/v-deo.html
@@CassiyJohnson thank you so much for the great help.Thank you so much again I know you must be very busy I am really blessed that you have time to help the new seller.God give you more success .You are really my role model for me.
Thank you for the follow-up! Is the same with seamless patterns? I mean I know technically its a graphic but many times your taking multiple of it to put it together.
I have a question about copyright protections on original designs crafted in Canva. I am having an issue where one of my best sellers was stolen. I created the design in Canva using elements and fonts. Once you create a design from scratch in Canva is it protected? What can I do to stop thieves from stealing my exact design?
No it's not. Their policies states that none of their images or templates are copyrighted protected. So that means you can't copyright the image or logo b c it is a free design that anybody can make. You need to hire a graphic designer to get a truely royalty free ownership of the logo
Hi Cassiy, thank you for your videos! I learned a lot from you. I tried to sign up on Pritntify using your promo code, but it didn't work. It says that this code doesn't exist. Did your code change?
Hey so sorry I probably will not resume them! I have my beta launch of my course going on right now and will be launching that on the channel soon and just focussing on that for now! I hope my videos have been super helpful for you in the meantime though
Thank you, can I use Canva’s collage templates on mugs please? For example: my customers upload several photos and I use canva template along with texts then pint that design for my customer on a mug
@CassiyJohnson, i really appreciate your videos and am very soon starting my own ETSY store. However I am a bit confused about POD on ETSY.. they say ETSY is for artisans who have created handcrafted products. To start selling on ETSY, do i need atleast 1 handmade product or can I start directly with POD Tshirts?
Thanks for this information, Cassiy! I'm also wondering about using Canva text-to-image AI with Print On Demand; perhaps that too just needs some combination of graphics and lettering to make it unique and original?
Hey Cassiy, thanks for all the great videos. I'm anxious to dive in and open my first shop, there's just one thing holding me back, funds (I'm broke). I noticed in one of the video's that when you set up your store you can set how often you get paid by Etsy. If I set that to get paid every day, would that not eliminate the need for me to use my funds to pay Printify? Or at least cut back the time I am out of pocket to a day or two?
You can't use them on KDP though as they explain further on. You can't use any Canva elements on a platform that requires you own the copyright (which KDP does). They give an example further on.
I bought some mockups with better models than Printify, from Etsy, used Canva to change tee color and added a design, saved to pc. How can I use these in my mockups on Printify?? Can’t find the solution and want the better models for mockups. I’m selling on eBay, please help.
Hi Cassiy, love you video. Hi I'm new to print on demand. Having issue previewing downloaded image from Canva. Image has white background with black text. Before downloading, I save as png , select 'transparent background and increase size by 3. When I preview it on my laptop the background is black as well as the text, the different colours in the design are fine. It works fine when previewing images with white text on a black background. Hope you can help? Thanks
Does this include all the pro designs as well or only free? I thought there might be a difference in using the pro graphics and fonts. I have a subscription to Canva but wasn't 100% sure on that.
Thank you for making this video! I have an unrelated question about trademarks, though. It confuses me. Say I have a short phrase that I want to put on a design. When I research the trademark database, do I just look up the phrase I want to use? Or look up each individual word? Because sometimes, there would be a trademarked word in my phrase, and I'm not sure if I can use it or not. And I'm not talking about words like Disney but just as an example, the word outlaw in a phrase. The word outlaw is trademarked. So can I use it in a phrase or not?
I think they should just let people who are paying them 14.99 to use everything they have as long as they change the template onto something’s else having a blanket or even color background is not enough to just sell anything anymore.
If you are talking about the creative fabrica licensing then commercial usage means you can use them in a design but can't use them by themselves alone on an item and sell it, where as full pod means you could just upload it to an item and sell it as is.
Hi Cassiy, first off thanks so much for all the great videos, they've helped me so much so far. I have one question for you. I've been working on my etsy POD store for around 4 months now and only have 6 sales. I'm using great mockups, SEO, designs and everything but it seems like the niches I've been doing (i.e. holidays, seasonal etc) are just too saturated. I'm considering nicheing down to a less competitive niche, but worried that that might not be the way to make income-level revenue. Is this something you would recommend, or should I stick to the very popular niches, like holidays, mom/dad shirts etc? Thanks so much in advance!!
Hi I am wanting to use a design on a t-shirt but I'm not sure if the picture is trademarked or not it would be helpful to do a video of available designs mostly disney themed designs
Thanks for clearing this up! Quick question, do you know if you can use the same design on multiple items? For example you create an original design for a t-shirt, can that same exact design also be sold on a sweatshirt on the same store? So two listings with the same design sold on different items.
Hi Cassiy , I have a question regarding upgrading shipping for customers after their purchase. My current provider is Printify. When I go to their website it says they charge $19- $24.99 for first priority shipping and then also I'm confused with adding upgrade shipping options in my current shipping profile on Etsy. I don't understand how the two different shipping options ( Printify & Etsy's) correlate. I have been researching for a video here on UA-cam to better understand how this works but can't find an explanation anywhere I'm so confused! I would really appreciate if you could explain this to me please! Thank You!
Hi Kassandra! it can be so complicated at first, I totally get it. Here's how I do it - I don't offer upgraded shipping in my listings. When someone messages me and asks for rush shipping, I send them a separate listing for $20 (or more depending on how many shirts are in their order). So after they purchase that, I go over to Printify and upgrade their shipping. I hope that makes sense, and I'm wishing you all the best!!
Do you think it's okay to use a Canva element free or pro (if you have the subscription) as the mockup background in Printify? I noticed you can add a background so I thought it would be okay since my design (using totally different elements) was on top.
Hello! Im not sure if you will see this but if anyone has the answer please reply. I am new to this but I am very eager. I made a mistake. How can I fix this issue? Please help!😮
If I create an original design using fonts and elements from Canva, when filling in the Etsy form on what is my role in the design process, is the option "I design everything myself" correct? or is it another option? Thank you!
I recently opened an Etsy shop and made my first sale using Printify for print on demand. I have been contemplating having a SVG category in addition to physical items to sell to try and help offset Etsy fees, etc.. I wouldn't sell any physical items using those designs though as that would just take away from my own sales. Is that potentially a good idea or is it better to just stick to selling print on demand items?
I think it's a good idea to sell both but I wouldn't necessarily sell them in the same store as you are inviting your competition to come shop your store. So if you have t-shirts that are selling well and don't sell the design, they may see it and just get an idea to make their own version if that makes sense. I'd probably open up a second store for digital downloads but you can always try it in one store and see how it goes and decide which one you even like better!
