Thank you so much Heather! You are one of the few people that I have found that have made setting up my printify/Etsy store SOOO easy! I appreciate it.
I appreciate that tutorial routes you through the various programs/apps. You help me get from idea to final listing, and you mentioned where options occurred.
Thank you so much for uploading such a helpful video! I have learned so much from both you and Cassiy and find the information you provide extremely helpful and invaluable! I love your style and delivery.
Hey Heather I love your videos, I had a question on the part where Etsy wants to know how this is made. Since it’s print on demand and you’re designing the item, is that the only thing that justifies the “I Made this” part when listing it? Let’s say there were no personalization, would the listing be “Another person or company made this, a finished product, made to order, and then list the production partner? The reason I ask is that I’ve heard of some POD sellers getting listings suspended for the “Handmade” part that shows up. I would love a little clarification since you’ve got the experience. Also, do you have a video walking through the shop creation, I want my shop to look professional and also make sure I’m answering the questions I can answer for customers up front so I have to deal with less customer service type emails in the future. Thank you again, you’re the best!
I am so grateful for you coz I am there on Etsy with no sales at all and need HELP ..I can actually understand you better than many I have looked at thank you for taking this video to the right level I have subscribed to you and your awesome videos for help and tips and ideas to help me and my etsy business,,Thank you ...
So do you have to manually change personalization for each order, so it’s not automatically fulfilled? What about using something like hello custom? Thanks
If youre on printify premium, these mock ups images are available? coz im just trying out now and some of these mock ups dont appear. thank youuu i listen to ur videos while designing every day :D
Thank you for your tutorials! I created a specific bullseye with multiple colored layers but am wondering how to download that and be able to copy and paste multiple without moving the layers. Is this possible to do?
Hi Heather! I LOVE your tutorials!!! Just one request/suggestion… is it possible for you to go a tad bit slower & show exactly where you are clicking ( like how to get there)? Some of my business group friends have been talking about this so I figured I would bring it to your attention. Basically I think they mean not doing so much editing out of the path you are taking between shots, if that makes sense. Thanks again! I’ve been a loyal follower for a long time now! ❤
Same here. 40 days in and 3 sales. All well meaning loving family. Then zero to 3 views a day. No where near enough to earn sales. Watching for more. Also love your story ylur commitment to family at 16. Those days are tough. 🥲 Thank you
This is so helpful, thank you! This is a pretty specific question, but in another UA-cam video I watched, the lady recommended to not put commas in the product title because it might hurt SEO or break up long-tail keywords. Do you think that is really a thing, or do commas not really make a difference with SEO? I’d much rather use commas, to be honest, because it reads so much easier.
I'd like to know as well. I was just going to try it both ways and analyze the views and profit or lack thereof, etc.. I believe it would be a good way to compare both SEO methods when it comes to organic traffic and people actually buying. We will see!🤣
Amazing video! Quick question when printify does print the graphics on the mug or shirts will the colour print be exactly like in the mock ups you make? I’ve heard that peoples designs ended up being faded is there a way to avoid this? Thanks!
For mugs and most drinkware with white backgrounds the graphics and colors have been vibrant & accurate from the samples I've personally recieved. However, if it's another product that has fabric, such as t-shirts/sweatshirts, most print on demand companies use DTG printing that infuses ink into the fibers that cause the 'faded look' of colors. It depends on the products and also knowing the printing methods that Printify provides per product & print provider basically and can vary. Hopefully this helps!
Love your tutorial .. Question have you tried to speak with someone from Printify .. I tried to find a number and there is none. Then sent an email asking a question and they never responded to my email except to say the request was solved 🤦🏼♀️ but never answered my questions. I haven’t started my online yet , wanting to see how easy they are to communicate with if I have a problem and this isn’t a great start . Do you have any suggestions ? I don’t want to throw in the towel before I start ! Thank you :)
Super helpful video! As someone new to Ecom, Etsy, etc what actually happens when the order is placed. How does your production partner know to change the name on the mug and who to ship it to?
D you manually go in and change the name for them or do you use hello custom. Does printify know it needs a custom name before they print it. Sorry if I missed tgat part.
Not sure if I’m doing something wrong but shipping is around $8 for sweatshirts how do you stay competitive with prices like that or is there a way to change this?
So by pulling in the SCUs into the Etsy listing this becomes automated and Printify will take the personalized name from the order and automatically full the order? Or do you still need to go into Printify and manually fulfill the order?
Hi Heather. Unlike Printify, does ETSY's production Partners (or ETSY itself) require me to pay them before printing a shirt order or does the partner take care of the full process after the the customer finds a product and orders it?
Hi Heather! I'm wondering if you can make a video on Etsy/Printify currency conversion? This is one area that still has me quite confused. I'm in Canada and Printify lists the prices in USD.. which actually shows as the same amount on my etsy store in CAD apparently. But I'm not sure what the buyer sees on their end. I've lost money because of it so I want to get it ironed out but I can't find much info about it online. What I mean is if my shirt is $30 on Printify (it shows as USD) it's actually $30 dollars CAD in my store. And I'm not sure if a US buyer sees the item as $30 USD or $22 USD which would be the conversion. If a US buyer is seeing my shirt for $30 dollars they will probably be deterred from buying. ($30 bucks CAD would also seem a bit steep to Canadian buyers especially after delivery and taxes) But my first shirts were listed at around $18 CAD which is around $13 USD so I ended up paying out of pocket for people to buy my shirts and havent made a sale since I raised my prices to an amount I could actually make a small amount of profit on. I know you're not in Canada but I want to know if I'm actually able to run a profitable POD business in Canada since this seems to be geared toward Americans. Would appreciate any insight. Thank you❤
Hello, have you found an answer to your question? I’m in Canada as well and want to start a POD Etsy store but there are so many roadblocks being Canadian that I want to make sure I have all the answers.
@@stacymclean3714 yes I agree! So I found out that the buyer will see the price in their own currency. Etsy automatically does the conversion so I price my shirts in the amount I was to sell in CAD and most of my buyers are in the US so they will see the item in like 22-25 USD whatever the exchange is :)
I do not create every listing manually~ I integrate Printify so that the orders are automatically created(usually within an hour) and populate on Printify's 'my orders' area.
But will Printify modify the personalization on their own?? What if the child's name is not Amanda, will Printify know to modify name using the same font?
Hi. Thank you for the videos. The explanations are very clear. However, what I should do if I am in the United Kindom but the print-on-demand partner is based in the United States. Will Etsy ban my store if I place an address that is not actually in the United Kingdom? Thank you
I am so confused! I am creating my tee shirt designs in Canva. I then place the transparent design on mockups I've purchased and uploaded to Canva. Is my next step to upload to Printify just the transparent design to the tee shirt I have chosen to use and then also the tee shirt mockup of that design? If I want to show that design on several different color shirts, do I upload mockups showing what it looks like on each color? Thank you!!
Hi Heather, I really enjoyed your Etsy tutorial! You provided great tips for selling customized mugs. I do have one question about shipping logistics when using multiple suppliers. Since your shop carries two mug styles that ship from different vendors, how do you configure your listings so the correct shipping provider is chosen automatically? In the Etsy settings I only see an option for adding one shipping profile per listing. Is there a way to set it up so the appropriate shipping rate is calculated based on which mug variant the customer selects? Appreciate any insight you can provide on seamlessly managing shipping across multiple suppliers on a single Etsy listing. Your advice is so helpful for new Etsy sellers like me. Thank you!
If you have two different POD provider mug styles and shipping varies- this is when you usually need to create a new shipping profile so that the price is either the midrange of costs OR set to the maximum of costs between the two. Example is if one mug shipping is 4$ and the other is $5, I would set at $5 and you can always nudge a dollar off the product with the POD provider that has $4. As far as I know, you are unable to have two shipping profiles and this has been my only workaround outside of offering free shipping on that listing and factoring the shipping into each product listed. Hopefully this makes sense and helps!❤️
I do not think you need it but if you're using at minimum of $5 ads since they give $5 ad credit and listing 15 listings each month($3 of listing cost) then it's technically $2. I am subscribed for this reason but that's because I list over 15 listings a month + run ads. Hopefully this helps! :)
May I ask you if ORIGINAL DIGITAL WALL ART PRINTS has a good market trend? Is it a good product? Cause I am an artist and I am trying to sell my art on Etsy now. THANKS YOU!
No such things as dumb questions! You can do either method, whichever is easier for your workflow. I personally publish as I go and then complete on Etsy within the first half an hour of publishing to Etsy since Etsy will start showing these listings to potential customers once posted. If I publish all at once, I make sure to update the SEO & mockups as soon as I can (again, within a half an hour).
Hey Heather! I want to do this too but l am using just enamel cup with 2 different graphics so would l keep them as a draft and duplicate it when l have to put in the customization?? I’m so confused 🤣🤣 thank you
Hey there! I would keep as draft, save on Printify and record the SKU's if you want to add the variation design to a listing or create a manual one. When the order goes through with the SKU, even if it's in drafts on Printify, Printify will autolink the SKU from the Etsy listing the the mug with that graphic that corresponds to the SKU. Hopefully this makes sense and helps!
For custom or personalizatio, you will have to either use a software like Hello Custom to automate the personalization or do it manually by going to Kittl, manually changing the design to input the name, then go to Printify, duplicate product, swap the design and edit the order to delete the 'Amanda' design(ex from this video) and add in the new designed product with personalization. Then you will submit the order. Hopefully this helps!
@@itsheatherstudio Duplicating the product in Printfy was the missing part for me. I am assuming you still need to enter the customer name and address manually for the shipping part.
Can you make a video showing this process. Getting the personalized order, modifying your design, and then uploading this to the order. I'm assuming to do this you'll want to have all auto settings turned off in Printify. Right now i think mine is set to auto every 24 hours so I didn't miss getting orders out
I’m not having any luck with Etsy SEO. I have a tshirt design with a short catchy phrase, and this phrase is in my listing title. But when I search Etsy for it, it doesn’t appear in the results anywhere. What am I doing wrong?
Hey- can anyone help me? If your Etsy shop is automatically connected to printify - how do you handle personalized items? My orders go directly to printify do I have to switch all my listings to manual? I only have like 3 items that could be personalized
The licensing is full POD commercial usage and it states on their website, "The User may use Designs for all kinds of merchandise, such as t-shirts, posters, mugs etc. including print-on-demand products with no limit of quantity." I hope this answers your question as to if it's an extended license!💕 Source: www.kittl.com/licensing DISCLAIMER: I do not work for Kittl and am only an affiliate. Answers are based on my prior experiences.
@@itsheatherstudio Perfect. Thank you. I'm a photographer from the stock photography world. So I'm used to having to pay a licensing fee - and then on top of it an extended fee for products for sale. Thank you for sharing this. I've had a business idea for awhile and this may help me super launch it.
The artist in me is *screaming* to edit that penguin lol. Its eyes are lopsided, making it look a bit like one of those character popsicles that's started to melt. There are random black marks on the feet and a stray mark that's not quite a drop shadow, it's just there. With the "bow" (?) on the chest, the ribbon doesn't go all the way around in a way that makes sense. It'd be so easy to fix and my perfectionist butt is just going "aaaaaaaa people pay attention to design quality when you use AI, make sure the image makes sense!!!"
Hey Heather! For each supplier on printify they include what the print area size should be but each supplier has a different set of dimensions for one particular shirt. If I for example choose a gilded 1800 crewneck with the print area size being 3600 x 4200 and I create a custom canva design with those dimensions what would happen if that suppliers shirt goes out of stock? From another supplier that same crewneck would need a print area size of 4500 x 5100. so for my Canva designs would I need to redownlaod the canva file and edit the original listing as the other suppliers print area dimensions? Sorry for all the questions!
Hey there! Never be sorry for all the questions, I try to respond to as many as I can here. My standard is I use 5000 by 5000 pixels for most products(not including wrap around mugs/tumblers, towels, blankets, etc. that require scaling and more unique dimensions that the square dimension causes white to show or is unable to fit). If it’s a gildan 18000 I use 5K by 5K pixel no matter what print provider. Unless there is a design you are trying to fill the whole height and width, this is the only reason I’d do the print provider specifics. I personally stick to square dimensions due to its transferable to mugs, sweatshirts, t-shirts and other products. It is something I prefer for quicker design creation and has worked for my shops without complaints from customers. Everyone develops their own preference over time and experience though and I always suggest to start with the 5k by 5k pixel as a ‘standard’ and adjust if it absolutely does not look right or work with the product you select. Hopefully this helps!💕
Hi! I love your videos; however, I am struggling. I have watched almost all of your videos, along with other Top 1% Etsy Sellers' videos. I know how to do the research, I will take tags from the top-selling items and make them fit my products, etc. So, why am I still not getting the sales? I'm starting to think that there are so many monster stores on Etsy that it's almost impossible for the "little guy" to come on the scene and hit it big...
There are many factors that can contribute to following everything but not seeing results. If you are getting traffic but no purchases the answer is most likely the design + product the customers do not like enough to purchase and sometimes it could also be the mockups. If you aren't getting traffic or views, the answer lies in the niches & amount of listings or creating a social media strategy. It also has to do with design + product and the right market that's consistently passionate enough for high sales. If those don't align then it's difficult to see sales and scale. Also to mention, if you began in the past few months, the summer typically sees the slowest sale volumes across e-commerce. I don't suggest shop reviews/consults often but I would suggest if you have a lot of listings(over 50+) and have been doing this for 3+ months without sales this is a good time to seek a second opinion because there are many more reasons outside of what I listed above. My team offers shop reviews intermittently if you'd like to get a review by Jenn or on the waitlist for when I reopen my availability(I'm taking a vacation soon so I am not available until later in September): studio.heatherxstudio.com/shop-review-services Hopefully this helps a bit and wishing your shop some sales soon!
It depends on your store settings for Printify. If you have it automated for order approval then you can put in nothing or 'fake SKU'(sometimes I write that instead in place of the SKU). You can set the shop to 'manual approval' if you want to hold all orders and then edit for personalization.
Printify does not personalize for you~ the process is manual since you have to hold the order when it comes through, you go back to Kittl and enter in personalization and reupload on Printify for the order. There is a software called HelloCustom that’s in beta stage that will automate this process later on though. :)
The only pictures that will publish is the product you publish on Printify so if you have another variation that is saved on Printify as drafts(example is a different product like a tote to add to a mug listing) then the pictures of the tote do not automatically get added to the product published if you add the SKU to the listing manually. You either have to download from Printify or create your own mockups and upload to the listing on Etsy if you have multiple variations as I showed in the video. Hopefully this answers the question right and helps! ❤
I do not share it due to many easily copying it/having to file DMCA claims. I made a whole series on this called ‘starting a new Etsy business and letting my old one die’ where I go over how sharing my POD Etsy shop lead to my original shop was affected.
If you try republishing it should sync the second time(important: make sure to not update mockups and select the checkmark for updating mockups)~ if this doesn't work then I would contact Printify.
I use a Yeti mic that I recorded with this video. What do you recommend and what are the mix issues you are experiencing? I appreciate the feedback to improve if there’s noise you are hearing.
I don't think you have a profit of 7$. Etsy takes a lot of fees, there is not much left from the 7$. 2$ can be easily deducted and if the customer comes through the automatic Etsy Adds, then they charge another 15% fee. All that from your selling price. Don't forget the taxes....
First of all thanks for video but lt useful in some way .in some way useful .Why? because all tools or website you r giving us it too expensive. One of them Kittle says pay me120$ or you'll get everything limited.and you can't work Or Ever Bee asks 200$ yearly but monthly it will be much more. So why would I pay 320$ when have another tools much better. I will pay monthly 5$ Erank and I will get everything insights forexample.Canva for free. or in my photoshope . Any way thanks for video

I can't find that mug on printify. Only the silver rimmed one is showing up. I've removed all filters on my search.
So the customer puts a custom name but how do you submit the order to printfy with the new custom design instead of the one used in the mockup?
Please I Didn't get how you put the two products together on etsy after designing them differently
Can customer change the name?
Hey- can anyone help me? If your Etsy shop is automatically connected to printify - how do you handle personalized items? My orders go directly to printify do I have to switch all my listings to manual? I only have like 3 items that could be personalized
Are there extended licensing fees for graphics on Kittl?
The licensing is full POD commercial usage and it states on their website, "The User may use Designs for all kinds of merchandise, such as t-shirts, posters, mugs etc. including print-on-demand products with no limit of quantity." I hope this answers your question as to if it's an extended license!💕

Thank you so much for answering with depth I really appreciate it and I can't wait to get started!! @@itsheatherstudio
My team offers shop reviews intermittently if you'd like to get a review by Jenn or on the waitlist for when I reopen my availability(I'm taking a vacation soon so I am not available until later in September): studio.heatherxstudio.com/shop-review-services
Hopefully this helps a bit and wishing your shop some sales soon!
@@itsheatherstudio Thank you so much for the reply & suggestions! I will take a harder look at my shop & may just get a second opinion!
If you use the skews won’t it get auto fulfilled w the Amanda name?
It depends on your store settings for Printify. If you have it automated for order approval then you can put in nothing or 'fake SKU'(sometimes I write that instead in place of the SKU). You can set the shop to 'manual approval' if you want to hold all orders and then edit for personalization.
Hi! How does Printify personalise names on the mug when they don't have access to the font generated on Kittl?
Printify does not personalize for you~ the process is manual since you have to hold the order when it comes through, you go back to Kittl and enter in personalization and reupload on Printify for the order. There is a software called HelloCustom that’s in beta stage that will automate this process later on though. :)
Wait is it missing where you go over tags?? 😂 I watched twice!
Yes we accidentally cut the part that went over tags on the final edit~ I plan on making a tag video for just tags now due to this my apologies!!☹️
@@itsheatherstudio Oh that's even better! I *think* I'm a little confused over tags still (despite all the videos I've watched 😂) Thanks Heather! 🎉
@@itsheatherstudio What is the title of the tag video?=
I don't get how you're linking the photos between listings. My second variation photos don't show up
The only pictures that will publish is the product you publish on Printify so if you have another variation that is saved on Printify as drafts(example is a different product like a tote to add to a mug listing) then the pictures of the tote do not automatically get added to the product published if you add the SKU to the listing manually. You either have to download from Printify or create your own mockups and upload to the listing on Etsy if you have multiple variations as I showed in the video. Hopefully this answers the question right and helps! ❤
how do we find your etsy store
I do not share it due to many easily copying it/having to file DMCA claims. I made a whole series on this called ‘starting a new Etsy business and letting my old one die’ where I go over how sharing my POD Etsy shop lead to my original shop was affected.
i appreciate the response and i just watched that vid lol totally understand@@itsheatherstudio
the thing i got a problem with is that the prices on printify doesnt sync to etsy, and all the prices are messed up when listing it on etsy
If you try republishing it should sync the second time(important: make sure to not update mockups and select the checkmark for updating mockups)~ if this doesn't work then I would contact Printify.
Getting a decent mic would really help audio quality on these videos.
