Great video Dave. :-) It was wonderful to be able to spend some time with you both again and in your new "play ground" away from the wilds of Wicklow. Thanks!!!! I had an amazing trip and the Bells Palsy will go but the memories of my trip and our runs and hikes will last a life time. I am looking forward to following your continued progress over the next few weeks, where I am certain you are going to smash it my friend!!!!
Thanks Ray, it was great to have you see where Claire and I have settled. I’m sure the Bells Palsy will pass quickly and you’ll be back to your inimitable self before you know it 💪
Great vid Dave - loving the progress vlogs going into Colorado! Caps do my head in, I don’t get on with them at all - prefer a bucket hat if one is required tbh. 😊… keep up the good work - looking fit 👌🏻 💪🏼
Yeah, caps are an interesting one. Never really wore them back home but with the strength of the sun over here you need something to keep it out of your eyes. Perhaps a visor might be the way to go 🤔. Thanks for coming along on the journey. I arrived in Colorado yesterday so am really looking forward now to actually seeing the Leadville course 👍
If you're looking for a long run in Vegas then head out to Red Rock Canyon on the west side of town. I've done White Rock & Willow Springs loop a few times, and Ice Box Canyon is spectacular.
Unfortunately Red Rock Canyon is a bit too far out of the way so have decided to meet up with a local LV group on Saturday morning but thanks again for the recommendation. I will definitely check it out at some stage.
Thanks, yeah, I’ll finalize my wardrobe once I have boots on the ground 😊, and yes, it’s not long now so I better get the finger out and start packing for tomorrow we hit that long road…..
Great update, have fun on your road trip! I'm sure it doesn't need saying but I'd kick myself if I didn't: don't expect any physical warning about the heat in Nevada in particular, it can get dangerous before you know it.
I appreciate that. Coming from Ireland I’m only really starting to realize the dangers of running in particularly hot weather. If I ever get back to making my Canyons video you will see that was my downfall in Auburn. Thanks again my friend 👍
I have found a solution to my gut running issues. Fermented goods eg. Kimchi Sauerkraut. Not 100 per cent proof. Way better now I eat it daily. Great for gut microbiomes.
Yeah, I’m not sure kimchi would help in this situation. My gut is rock solid most of the time. The problem only arises when I’ve run 60 miles as fast as I can 🤣🤣. At the moment my thinking is just to have a good mix of go-to foods so that I can change it up when the stomach says “no”. I appreciate the advice though. Keep’em coming 👍🏃♂️💪
Fair play to you Dave, your enthusiasm knows no bounds ! Keep up the good work !! 👏
Thanks Murs 👍🏃🏻♂️💪

Excellent, thanks for the heads up. I think Vegas will be my best chance to get a long run in. I will look up your recommendations 👍

I hate wearing caps sometimes 😅 but ya well done on the training not long now

In that heat I wasn't expecting you to mention frost.
