Hey brother. Thanks for finally doing a xl glad to know you got #14. In all reality I think the price should have been 100$ Lower. I agree with that. But the engineering that Daniel puts into his knives is incredible. All of them feel exactly the same. No one's asking in reddit was your Rosie centered? It's just not happening. Daniel uses a horizontal double detent system that no one else uses. You should do another video on the engineering behind this knife. The standard Rosie is just amazing. I'm holding it right now as I watch. Every Rosie is amazing. I have a zirblasted radial frag #2999 it's beyond amazing. The price was right on point. And oz machine just knows how to create an amazing knife. Daniel is a good dude. Also I hope your going to syndicate show this year!
"No one's asking in reddit was your Rosie centered?" You're absolutely right. Not once I have read about someone asking this when talking about a Rosie, and for a very good reason... they're all dead center when they leave the shop. The level of quality control is insane and unmatched!
Beautiful knife! I love the plain jane look. But you can tell that it's an R&D masterpiece, the shape of the scales, the opening hole access, etc.
I ordered a Nicholas Nichols Dreadnought and it came in Friday. I can’t stop opening it just to hear the satisfying “THWAK” sound the MagnaCut blade makes. Would love to see you give an overview if you’re interested! Thanks for the great content!

Great review! Seems like the xl is another banger for Oz. Last drop on these really bummed me out. Had some xls and like 70 standard rosies. I tried to to get a standard and they all sold out in less than i minute. Im just gonna put oz machine co on the shelf and check back in a year to see what the supply/demand looks like. Its insane how popular these things are right now. I'd love to have one, but im not gonna chase one like a desperate fool.

Wow. I had no idea it was that big. I have had my eye out for the original for some time, but there is a bit of luck involved in getting one.
Love my standard Rosie. My only complaint is that he’s running ceramic bearings straight onto the titanium frames. I put in Skiff washers because of this but actually prefer washer action anyway
Simplistic is kind of a brutal aestetic to pull off well.
I'd love to get an opportunity to pick up a regular sized one, but I'll not be holding my breath haha

Ahh a Rosie. One day I’ll be able to handle one then I’ll decide if I want to pay that price! Been a grail of mine for some time now!
I’ve got a Mag Milled Roosevelt and never really noticed until he had it open and sitting there that the profile looks like a cow skull
So how long is the blade? In inches not knife equivalents.
That action looks like an Andre Thorburn. Just slowly, smoothly closes by itself once it passes the detent. Like a door on a Bentley. That's my favorite kind and few knives have achieved it, especially under $500. The new Real Steel Avangard came about 80%-85% close, just nt as smooth and has a slight rubbing sound on the detent.

Personally, I don’t mind the tumbled blade finish and he does offer other finishes. But I can understand your point on wanting a more premium looking finish. Other than that, the only improvement he can make is a captured or more unique pivot, across all models/options. Considering everything else is continuously “perfect”, meaning most people that buy this knife are overwhelmingly satisfied. I can understand the price tag but, $800 would be ideal though in this configuration.
Thank you for the detailed review. I am really impressed with the pivot action. I love that it’s MagnaCut and Ti. But MC, you said the keyword here: it’s utilitarian. The blade finish is OK, but nothing more. The pivot itself is not decorated, and worse yet, it’s not even captured! The overall handle shape, aside from the finger scallops, is very plain. The frame lock has no extra cutout on the show side, and given the thin handle, should be there. I’d rather see a bolster-style lock on a knife at this price. As a whole package, I do not see it offering $900 in value.
Fit and finish will not get any better beyond certain price point unless you have alien spacecraft machinery. Of course you can’t get the same feeling from a less expensive Chinese production knife, keyword less expensive. Now I wanna see what other companies can do for 900 dollars. No zircuti, hand engraving or mirror finish. I wanna see 900 dollars worth of pure machining so we have something to compare

I appreciate that the knife exists. I understand the price. Even if it was at a lower price, it’s just not for me. The ergonomics lines and aesthetics just don’t do it for me. I really hope they come out with something that does have the lines I like so I can enjoy OZ machine company.

I don’t see how that cost more money to make than a CRK or Hinderer. The design and machine work on that is not even more complicated than the aforementioned. Hype beast after hype beast these days.

The price should be lower because its easy to make. The quality AND design looks comparable to what Chris Reeve makes. The difference is he doesn't charge $800 for his knives.
The ti is contoured. That's a massive increase in cost. If you can make this exact knife for less in the same quantities and properly distribute it, sure. I'd say you're right. But you won't be able to. It should cost less, but definitely, unquestionably more than a standard Chris Reeve.
