I've found watching his videos over & over I started to get on his wavelength so that I felt inspired to write similar type of material. This has let me to become a stand-up & I've been performing locally for over 4 years.
he acts serious (almost even apathetic lol) for comedic value, it makes an obviously sarcastic or exagerrated statement seem more genuine, and more outrageous
1:37 Guy on left. I don't know why, but I love it when people don't respond to Wright's style. He's my favorite comedian, but I get so amused by some people's reactions to him.
all the hair strands went on holiday (vacation) together...instaed of taking a taxi and a plane, they each wound themselves around a hairbrush bristle and they tied the brush to a mouse to be towed away.
I've discovered the Steven Wright dude 5 minutes ago and now I absolutely adore him) Love abstract humour and his stage apearance.
I still think that he's ageless
Unique talent. I have a few of his performances in my favorites and they still make me laugh whenever I play one
The best
everywhere is a walking distance if you have the time
He is a genius and a pioneer of surrealist humor.
Just so brilliant. Saw him live at the Carson Show in the early 80's. Fantastic.
I like his more relaxed, leisurely delivery in this set.
Absolutely one of the greatest!
I saw the second half of this video first! I'm kidding, with Steven Wright you always know it's gonna be awesome!
thanks for sharing. Steven is the best
i wish i had the balls to be like him love the abstract humour

babies dont need a vacation yet I always see them at the beach XD Class act XD
man that was a great set!
with black hair, a black microphone, wearing black shirt and trousers, having a black background may not have been the wisest choice ever. xXx
Omg! Wright jokes I haven't heard before
As a matter of fact it's a performance strategy, it's done to make you concentrate on facial expressions and hand gestures.

he's right about books. Thats a cool technique.
Nice work :)

I'm 21 and this is right up my alley although I know most people my age would probably prefer someone like Jason Manford or Lee Evans.

Notice how he gets pissed if the laughs don't come
Babies dont need a vacation classic
Why is the "Maintain Eye Contact" video the 3rd related video on EVERY SINGLE Steven WRIGHT VIDEO!?
IT'S *THE GUY*
HALF BAKED!!
Hoser at 1:39 ain't feeling it, eh?
Why did he retire so relatively soon?
Possibly he got more laughter than he expected & didn't want to overrun & encroach on the next performer's slot.
I have a fear of biting dogs - especially when I'm hungry.
did this guy ever have hair?
@TheEXpothead Not even the phonecall-with-the-two-month-old-baby-ok-ill-wait-bit?
FFS. This is another video that, for some stupid reason, keeps showing up as a green screen.
I always read books backwards!
Robbie Kreiger!
did anyone hear about the dictionary for dyslexics ? netheri ddi eye
Did YOU hear about the dyslexic that walked into a bra?
Very few duds in this act
I have always wondered why you don't see any paralyzed veterans doing stand-up.
not a wig
does anyone else go a bit dizzy when they laugh hard ?
I used to think that brussel sprouts were the 'Incredible Hulk's bogies (goobers)......
