    i hate how the older sims teach you how to drive but now its just "get in this car and finish atleast 25th position"

    I've been an iracer for nearly 3 years now with a rating over 3k and I can honestly say I like NR2003 much more on so many levels.
    The only thing I don't care for is how easily you lose control from a slide or contact from another car.
    Otherwise I feel it is superior

      The more I try these older sims the more I wonder what actual progress we've really made in the past 15+ years...

      Also, for the price of "realism" the tire model sure doesn't match that moniker.

    I play NR2003 with a controller and love it, but for some reason whenever I plug in my wheel something happens. My cars are so incredibly tight, that I’m coasting up the track at Daytona and Talladega, in order to actually drive the line at other tracks I have to drop down 25-30mph lower than the AI. My wheel is fine in ACC, F1, and iRacing, but NR2003 is unplayable.

    • @RaceSimCentral
      @RaceSimCentral  2 роки тому +4

      This may be because of the older dinput hook you would need to plug in the controller, restart your PC, then launch NR2003. You can't sometimes plug in a controller and start NR2003 without a restart or it'll do this.

      In the advanced controller settings in the nr2003 settings the steering linearity should be set to the best settings for a wheel

      Maybe try using the "fast" setup? As dumb and obvious as this may sound the first time I tried driving at Talladega and Daytona the cars always had a hard time turning because they were on "easy" and would always drive up the damn track. And this was with using a Logitech G29.

    The advice for looking ahead doesn't always work. Take Darlington for example, in cockpit of course, you can see that far ahead when going into, and coming out of turns.

    • @RaceSimCentral
      @RaceSimCentral  2 роки тому +3

      Yeah, true. Just best to look as far forward as you can to give yourself the most time.

    I use a T150 and it seems like once I get to the middle of the turn my car rides up the track. I have messed with setups all I can. Any info you think could help?

    • @RaceSimCentral
      @RaceSimCentral  Рік тому

      Hm, it's hard to say. You could be turning a little too much, scrubbing the tires, overheating the tires and losing grip the deeper you get into the turn.

    bro my car goes left without me turning the steering wheel, how can I fix it?

    • @szaszs
      @szaszs 6 місяців тому +1

      If you're being serious then go into the garage and select the "easy" setup. That balances it so it doesn't lean left. It will make you understeer really bad in corners though. So you just have to learn to countersteer in the straights as they do IRL

  • @dhruvnarain3948
    @dhruvnarain3948 Рік тому

    Is Nr2003 supposed to have your wheel have an offset to the right? Basically my wheel has to be tilted slightly to the right for me to go straight.

    • @RaceSimCentral
      @RaceSimCentral  Рік тому +1

      Yes, that's normal. The car is setup to turn left, so it continued to pull left on the straights. You turn right to counter the setup. Basically if your car was setup for the straights you would lose more time in the turns than being setup for the turns loses on the straights.

    • @dhruvnarain3948
      @dhruvnarain3948 Рік тому

      @@RaceSimCentral is there a way to counteract this without changing the setup? Or do I just have to calibrate the wheel slightly to the right?

    • @RaceSimCentral
      @RaceSimCentral  Рік тому +1

      You basically put when the fuel tank is empty or if you’ve killed the tires, but also it depends on strategy. If there are 30 laps left and you’ve been able to get 30 laps without putting that means you can put hit the last time in the race even if you only pitted 20 laps ago. It’s the same as real racing really. Better, generally, to put later on ovals, but as early as possible on road courses.
