Good idea do a collection The Audrey Hepburn, Natalie Portman, Ingrid Bergman, Margot Robbie, Grace Jones, Marilyn Monroe, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, Jada Pinkett, Vicia Fox, Kerry Washington, Frieda Pinto, the list could be endless.
I would add Mary Poppin's dress from the Jolly Holiday scene and the dress Florence Pugh wears during the May Queen dance in "Midsommar", but that's me.
Christine singing “Think of Me” in Phantom of the Opera! She wore a white dress during that scene. P.S. love your platform! Are you going to do a red dress version?
I love that dress bc it’s inspired by the dress Empress Sisi of Austria wore in her portrait- you could show the Sissi (1955) clip next to the Phantom outfit 💕
Omg I can’t believe I have not suggest this before. SCARLETT IN GONE WITH THE WIND SCARLETT & NATALIE PORTMAN IN The OTHER BOYELN GIRL CAN YOU DO VIDEO BASE ON THESE TYPE OF STYLES FROM THOSE DECADE LIKE MEDIEVAL TIME
medieval? I get what you mean but gone with the wind was set some time in 1800s and the other boleyn girl was set in the tudor period medieval period predates all of that
I've decided to wear a white suit to my wedding because I feel like it's the most me lol I love dresses but I could never find the white wedding dress that I'd envisioned. I hyped it up soooo much as a little girl that it's basically nonexistent. But it was for the best because I fell in love with a white suit. Life is funny.
i think white suits are gorgeous!!! if you have a summer wedding a nice flowy pair of white straight leg slacks + oversized suit jacket (and no top 😏) is a casual yet sexy look that is surprisingly timeless. i know a lot of people go for the slim cigarette pant, but i think oversized is wayyy more chic.
@@ModernGurlz Wide legged high waisted pants are really chic and elegant! They look truly amazing (I like your idea of waering the blazer with no top underneath 🤭 but maybe a black bralette would look good too)
I love this whole series! I'm just now catching on that the opening dress in Titanic was a direct reference to the My Fair Lady dress and a sly nod to the fact that she's transforming in the opposite social direction from Eliza. I also loved the white dresses (and men's costumes) in Much Ado About Nothing (the Kenneth Brannaugh version). Everything I
That's a good one! Also The Princess Diaries (the first movie wear she accepts her status as a princess and dances with Michael & her wedding dress) I don't include her coronation dress because it was more of a beige than a white.
Your videos are awesome. They include many of my favorite movie fashions. They may not be historically accurate but I love Barbra Streisand’s costumes in Funny Girl/Lady, Hello Dolly, and especially On a Clear Day. Thank you for your work.
Satine's courtesan dress is my ultimate favorite, I'm glad it was included. My second favorite is Christine's aria dress from The Phantom of the Opera.
The first one from My Fair Lady is my all-time favorite movie dress. It’s gorgeous. I also love the second one from that movie and the one from Gigi. The dress from Enchanted makes the little girl in me squeal with happiness.
Ironically, I think the white sari outfit Lalita wears to her friend's wedding in Bride & Prejudice (where she gets her heart broken by the Mr Darcy character) is actually more gorgeous than the full-on trad red+gold sari she wears to her own wedding once they reconcile...?
All of these dresses are so pretty I personally would have loved to seen the sound of music wedding dress, the mirror mirror wedding dress ( the queens ) and Padmé’s wedding dress
Kristen Scott Thomas’s white puff-sleeved sundress in The English Patient is something I have been searching for a dupe of to add to my own wardrobe for a literal decade.
My favourite white dresses in movies: ALL Bram Stoker's Dracula dresses Michelle Pfieffer Scarface/Age of Innocence Grace Kelly To Catch a Thief Natalie Portman Black Swan Oren Ishii Kill Bill Vol. 2 Madeleine Stowe in China Moon Julia Ormond in Legends of the Fall White dresses in Pride & Prejudice Gwyneth Paltrow in Emma Kate Winslet in Titanic Samara Weaving in Ready or Not Ursula Andress in She Jane Seymour/Ursula Andress in 007 Kirsten Dunst in Marie Atoinette Marisa Tomei in Only You
Really well done. Here's another 3: Cyd Charraise dancing with Fred Astaire in Bandwagon, Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief, and Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday.
I love little details like how Sandy's dress is pure white at the dance which signifies her innocence and purity and her antithesis is wearing black a very 'sinful' and 'lustful' color that signifies the more 'experience' she has and when danny ends up with her at the end of the dance this finally makes Sandy question if she is good enough for him and questions their relationship.
Oh i love that you put that clip from under the Tuscan Sun in the beginning - one of my fave movies. Whenever I hear "white dress" i think of this scene...
HOW have i just now discovered your channel!? The ammount of work and research that must go into each video😍😍Its so remarkable keep doing what you do🤍💟👰
This is a great list but y'all left out the most iconic white dress in film history: Marilyn Monroe's halter dress that billows out from under her when she steps on a grate in The Seven Year Itch. Elizabeth Taylor could've had three entries bc you're talking in the history of film then there's also Father of The Bride: Her wedding dress was immaculate, her dress in A Place in the Sun, and her white slip in Butterfield 8. I would add Lucy's funeral Dress in Bram Stoker's Dracula, Jane's wedding dress from 27 Dresses, and Angelina Jolie's white dress she wore while being a complete badass in Wanted.
I was so happy to see a dress from lord of the rings on here! The movies are masterpieces but because everything in them is so good, the costumes tend to get overlooked, which is a shame because there are some beautiful designs there
uuugghhh, you should've sneaked Queen Mother's dress in there from Black Panther! Her's was 3D printed and fab!! You mentioned it in another video so I aint mad lol
sometimes for this series i just flat out FORGET the dresses i love because i'm so focused on finding the fun obscure ones. it's happened so many times 😅😭
Needed the amazing white gown worn by Penelope Ann Miller in The Shadow, and also Julie Andrew's wedding gown in Sound of Music. Possibly Bella's wedding gown from Breaking Dawn as well.
I adore the dress from under the tuscan sea. It's chic but simple and classy.. Timeless ❤️❤️ and the bride dress from Cinderella is my personal dream 💓
Honestly you could do a whole “green” dress video and it could just be clips of Keira Knightly in the green evening gown from Atonement.
we are doing a green dress video but trust me, there’ll be more than that! 😂 (although it is one of our favs)
Omggg if you do a green dress vid you gotta include the green prom dress from Sky High
I don’t want to shatter your world but that wasn’t a dress, it was a skirt and a blouse, I’m so sorry
Berries 25 noooooooo
@@saraarmijoprudencio6890 omg wait was it actually? i totally thought it was a dress this whole time
Funny Face wedding dress is so timeless. Just like her white dress in Sabrina
oh. my. god. i forgot about that one 😓
You’re all good, next time you could do a actress fashion history. Keep up the good work 👍👍👍
Good idea do a collection The Audrey Hepburn, Natalie Portman, Ingrid Bergman, Margot Robbie, Grace Jones, Marilyn Monroe, Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Kerry Washington, Jada Pinkett, Vicia Fox, Kerry Washington, Frieda Pinto, the list could be endless.
Labyrinth WAS ICONIC
Yeah I was hoping to see that one too. Ob well, its ok.
This channel keeps turning out the BEST videos that i never knew i needed.
Soo true
I’m just imagining myself wearing these outfits but I’m just at home in sweats .....
Relatable🤣
Too relatable
This is way too relatable! 😂
I feel like we need iconic black dresses now🖤
Well Audrey did have a fantastic black dress in Sabrina with an adorable hat to match. I hope she includes it.
Yasssss
Oh yes
I make a bid for Elvira, Mistress of Darkness, Vertigo, and Bridget Jones's Diary
@@cynthiavaldez5941 the dinner dress from Titanic also.
Shuris outfits in black panther were everything
I would add Mary Poppin's dress from the Jolly Holiday scene and the dress Florence Pugh wears during the May Queen dance in "Midsommar", but that's me.
Christine singing “Think of Me” in Phantom of the Opera! She wore a white dress during that scene.
P.S. love your platform! Are you going to do a red dress version?
we’ll be going through the entire rainbow!! (i considered christine’s dress but compared to some of her other dresses it didn’t rank high enough)
Yes! I thought lf christine too! I would’ve wanted it to be her dress during phantom of the opera tho, I feel like its even more iconic.
I love that dress bc it’s inspired by the dress Empress Sisi of Austria wore in her portrait- you could show the Sissi (1955) clip next to the Phantom outfit 💕
I was thinking of that dress too! I tried to base my wedding dress of Christine's during her "Think of Me" song!
i kNow 42 isn't actually a dress but IDC it's iconic!!!
I understand, and you are right! That suit is marvelous.
so glad you included pride and prejudice! regency fashion is so underrated and gorgeous
Audrey Hepburn is the real icon in terms of timeless and classically elegant fashion.
@ Tue? :P
sooo pleased you picked the dresses based on the actual quality of the dress instead of just picking white dresses in popular movies 💖
Omg I can’t believe I have not suggest this before. SCARLETT IN GONE WITH THE WIND
SCARLETT & NATALIE PORTMAN IN The OTHER BOYELN GIRL
CAN YOU DO VIDEO BASE ON THESE TYPE OF STYLES FROM THOSE DECADE LIKE MEDIEVAL TIME
i adore the clothes in both of these movies (i watch gone with the wind a lot) but i haven't found the right video formats for them yet 😭
medieval?
I get what you mean but gone with the wind was set some time in 1800s
and the other boleyn girl was set in the tudor period
medieval period predates all of that
Gone with the wind was set in the 1860's, slightly before, during, and after the civil war (1861-1865)
Medieval covers a thousand years, give or take.
@@shammydammy2610 But not the ones with those two periods 😂

Sometimes "the dress" turns out to be a suit lol.
I would have included two Sound of Music dresses here: Liesel’s white dress and Maria’s wedding dress.
Chiara, The modern dresses are of different styles and not only classic dresses should be included
I was looking for Maria’s wedding dress too!
The white dress from war and peace will always be a favorite of mine. Honestly, any dress that Audrey Hepburn is in, always is stunning
I love this whole series! I'm just now catching on that the opening dress in Titanic was a direct reference to the My Fair Lady dress and a sly nod to the fact that she's transforming in the opposite social direction from Eliza.

omg the Chicago dresses are a dream
Soooo glad you included love don’t cost a thing she was so iconic with her outfits and completely underrated.
Love that you included Swing Time.
This account is just so amazing and refreshing! I haven’t seen creativity in vids like this in a long time
The dress that Edith wears from Crimson Peak! Is so pretty and an honorable mention!
I agree!!! She was so beautiful!!!
You forgot Drew Barrymore's white dress, in Ever After a Cinderella Story
Omg I looooved that film growing up ❤️
That's a good one! Also The Princess Diaries (the first movie wear she accepts her status as a princess and dances with Michael & her wedding dress) I don't include her coronation dress because it was more of a beige than a white.

Thank you thank you thank you! for including Sarah's ball gown from Labyrinth
How about Christine Daaé in phantom of the opera I love the dress she wears when she sings think of me!

The white dress that Sally Ann Howes wears in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang when she sings Lovely Lonely Man is my dream dress 😆
WOW. I came here for West Side Story and you did not disappoint 😭😭❤️❤️
I know a lot of these dresses were wedding dresses ... but I would love a video just on wedding outfits: brides, grooms, the whole wedding party!

Nothing compares to that 1st dress from my fair lady

I really love the range of movies you included ❤️

I just realised that my comment sounded so generic as if I copy and paste it on every video. I don't! I just love your channel hahaha
Still trying to find a dress like the one in basic instinct
I typed in "sleeveless white turtleneck dress" and found a fair few on Google. :) Not identical but very close.
Just google "basic instinct white dress" and you'll see some results :)
Every silk white dress blew me away!! They were so beautiful and looked wonderful, I now know I'll get married in one too!!
“Love the dress, hate her!”
Oh my gosh, I absolutely LOVED Sarah's dress in the Labyrinth
" says who? "
" Calvin Klein "
This is my response to whomever question my tops length.
I would love a video on this with a smaller list where you talk about each dress and how it affected the movie.
The white dress in The Shadow ABSOLUTELY beautiful
LOVE the white dress worn by Diane Lane in under the Tuscan sun - it was everything!
Kristen Scott Thomas’s white puff-sleeved sundress in The English Patient is something I have been searching for a dupe of to add to my own wardrobe for a literal decade.
What about Maria’s wedding dress from “The Sound of Music” and Hedy Lamarr’s iconic star dress from “Ziegfeld Girl”????
And Romy Schneider in sissi
Maria's wedding dress is so gorgeous!
Maria’s walk down the aisle was one of the most iconic scenes ever!!
audrey hepburn's outfits in my fair lady 😍

I just love to watch videos like these
Ok we need a video dedicated to the best outfits Audrey Hepburn wears
Sabrina, is my all time favorite. I love these videos, I watch them every day
I love little details like how Sandy's dress is pure white at the dance which signifies her innocence and purity and her antithesis is wearing black a very 'sinful' and 'lustful' color that signifies the more 'experience' she has and when danny ends up with her at the end of the dance this finally makes Sandy question if she is good enough for him and questions their relationship.
Another great one: Elizabeth Taylor in "A Place in the Sun" when she and Montgomery Clift's character first meet.

The only one I would add is Maria’s wedding dress in The Sound of Music
Oooooo Mary poppins’ white dress!
