I really liked your reaction to this song, one of the most "metal" songs of the band. As you can see, the energy transmitted is extremely intense. It is somewhat natural, given the significance of the lyrics, which describe the fateful moment when a relationship becomes toxic, with lies, betrayals, the destruction of dreams and hopes (Romanticide = death of romance). Note that in all the Nightwish songs the lyrics are significant. GLS talks about an impossible love.
A lot harder than the previous song right? Floor and Nightwish can do just about anything. I suggest Ever Dream and Storytime, both from Wacken 2013. I think you'll really enjoy both of those.
3 octave slide, from D3 to D6..... like it's a walk in the park! Floor is a machine!! Song of Myself Live at Wacken 2013 would be a good one to do next 👍👍👍
One really needs seatbelts to listen to Nightwish. It's ALWAYS a thrilling and wonderful ride.
The studio version (recorded in the Tarja era) only has Marko's 2 octave glissando. Floor not only joins\ him, but keeps going to a third octave.
This is one of their heavier songs , and one of the few that Emppu really shreds on as they all play what the song needs. They are not out there to show off.

This is an example of the harder end of Nightwish's work. You are finally getting to hear a little of what an amazing singer Marko (on bass) is. Very sadly Marko left the band earlly last year.
Next you need to do Song of myself.

This is one of the heaviest Nightwish songs. Marko (bassist) brings the masculine energy to many Nightwish songs. He is alo a very versatile vocalist in his own right. I think you will like the softer ones and many of Floor's solo performances. Loved it Emma. Peace.

the band has gone through 3 great vocalists, each with their own vocal style, without a doubt "floor" is my favorite, despite the fact that one of my favorite albums of the band is "dark passion play" and "anette" did it, which deserves a LOT of credit and respect!

"I know it's unusual to have female main singer" - there are sooooooooo many great female fronted metal bands out there, like not even kidding. Nightwish is certainly at or near the top but don't underestimate the amount or quality of other bands with female lead vocalists.

Maybe you react to 'Nemo' or 'Amaranth' - would be interessting to compare the original Singer (Nemo - Tarja, Amaranth - Anette) and Floor Janson.... have fun with both songs
you should try "high hopes". Nightwish did a great coverof this song by Pink Floyd. but ,it's not only a cover, it's an amazing tribute. In it, Marko (bass player) is the lead singer. sure you love his voice.

I like your Nightwish reactions! Romanticide is one of the harder Nightwish songs, but they have many harder songs. Another one is "Song of myself" what's one of my personal top 10 NW songs. I would like if you could do another NW reactions from the songs "Ever Dream", "Nemo" or "Bless the child", all from the same Wacken '13 conzert. They are not so hard, i think you would like them. If you want hear only Marco (the Bassist) sing than look "The Islander" from the Tampere '15 show, i think you would like this song. I also like the last song from the Wacken '13 show, "Last ride of the day" where Floor and Marco sing together, very much! But they sing in many songs together. Another song you should check out is the acoustic version of "How's the Heart ?" with Floor and Troy (the multiinstrumantal guy from NW who plays the floot, the bagpipes, the guitar and more) sings, Troy only in refrain, but he also sings in some songs background with NW. Only singing and Troys acoustic guitar, i think you would like this song "How's the heart ?" I'm looking forward for your next NW reaction!

For me 1 of the best songs where you see Marko and Floor's chemistry is The greatest show on earth.
Hey Emma! You just giving us so much gifts with all these reactions you do about Nightwish! The high note Floor reach at 7:28 is amazing each time I hear it! And you haven't heared Floor in duet with Henk Poort in the TV Show Beste Zangers singing "Phantom of the Opera" yet! I really recommend you to hear the duet between Floor and Simone on "Sancta Terra" from Epica Live Retrospect Show, Simone is an amazing singer too. Also, Within Temptation is a great band with another surreal singer, Sharon den Adel. And you also have Anneke van Giersbergen, from her past in The Gentle Storm or The Gathering to her actual and most recent solo albums, her voice is really a reference. And I have most recently discovered a band, Exit Eden, with four epic women singers, Anna Brunner, Marina La Torraca, Clementine Delauney and Amanda Somerville. And don't forget about Charlotte Wessels, formerly in the band Delain now in solo, she is really amazing. But, it's all about you to decide if you'll do it in a reaction or just for personal only. Hi, another great dutch female singer in the same grene is Simone Simons from the fantastic band Epica. Please react to them: from the latest album the ΩMEGA ALIVE album Skeleton Key live or Kingdom of Heaven part 3. Or live with Floor Jansen the song Sancta Terra (by the way)...that concert was Epic.
One of there more heavier songs. It's in the name the death of romance, a very angry song. But no Nightwish song are the same. They cater for different tastes. Thank you for another great reaction.

yes that is correct Nightwish is a Finnish band but Floor Jansen is Dutch !
and there are several Dutch metal bands with a female lead singer :
- After Forever (floor's first band from the age of 16),
- Revamp ( floors second band ),
- Epica ,
- within temptation , and I think I'm forgetting some.

great reaction, i know its not 1 of the more popular songs but i would suggest Nightwish "sahara" live in tampa florida. it has a very metal middle eastern feel, its about the tale of 1001 arabian nights, Floors voice is amazing on this song.

For all the Metalheads out there (including myself) this is a very hard song for „non-Metal-ears“. But If you continue reacting to this Band you might be surprised how hard Floor can go and on the other hand how soft Marko can be.
Next stops: Storytime, Everdream, While your lips are still red. I prefer liveversions, they are all „top level“, or even higher 😉
Hello Samantha Lisa, Wacken is the biggest metal festival in Europe. I am 53 years old and was lucky enough to see this concert of Nightwish with 83,000 others. Still today I think back to a super horny time.

Nightwish songs are considered very difficult because Tuomas hardly gives his singers a chance to breathe. What's more, Floor zigzags across the scale and looks like she's singing a lullaby. That's why she's considered one of the best singers in metal, if not the best. But that is also a matter of taste.
Female singers in metal are in the minority, but not uncommon. You have to look for them in the instruments. A few bands with female singers, from memory and up to date:

Unleash is mainly missing because of their power metal. But I would have taken Frozen Crown because they also have a female lead guitarist and are just as good.
In This Moment you can replace with Spiritbox. But Maria is there much longer.
Burning witches is an all-female heavy metal band. But I like The Warning much better. But they are somewhere on the border between hard rock and metal. The fact that I can't classify The Warning shows how good they are.
Brothers of Metal with their True Metal are missing. And they're funny too.
The folk metal isn't there. Skald is clearly missing here. In Eluveitie the male vocalist dominates over the female, but a third of the band is female.
Visions of Atlantis is also missing in symphonic metal.
Newcomers like Future Palace, Sepharic or SETYØURSAILS are also missing.
Then there are the bands I've heard but haven't noticed.
And those who started it all in the 80s: Warlock/Doro with their Heavy Metal, Holy Moses with their Trash. Women have been part of it from the beginning, but now significantly more than then.
And the bands in between that no longer exist.
You’ll be experienced more surprises as soon as you continue your journey with Nightwish by watching ‘Storytime’ and/or ‘Song of Myself’. Same concert WOA 2013.
They are amazing. And Floor is a goddess.

She does another great song when she does a guest appearance with The band Epica(another symphonic metal band). Two great artists than can switch flawlessly between registers. If you have time check out. The HU, a Mongolian band that mix heavy metal with traditional Mongolian instruments. Best song in my opinion is Wolf Totem(turn on translation to get the English meaning of song)
Now you have dipped your toes in to symphonic metal can I suggest the Dutch band Epica as your next port of call. Another band with a female lead Simone Simmons. Please listen to some of their music before listing to the duo with Floor and Simone as many will recommend. They are more on the heavier side.

For You, vocal coach, i can suggest another group: Lovebites (5 young Japanise ladies play havy metal). The have more than 50 songs, but for me the first could be: "Chopin etude+Swan song" or "Edge of the World" or "Epilogue" and if You like the thrash metal: "Set the World on fire". Their drummer and guitarists work on 300 bpm normally and more... Thanks.
you asked for a song in finnish language? May i suggest "Oi Jouluyö" sang by the Goddess Floor herself (and remember she is Dutch)....and that`s not the only language she`s able to perfectly sing in-not talking about all the different styles
