England football nights are a lovely time to fish aren't they! Your thumbnail made me chuckle. Why don't the fish ever read the video title. Long may there be lots of little Pike there. The rivers around me have been poached to buggery.
Nice work, Ewan, lovely little urban river there! Similar problem with me in the winter, the Jacks go for the tiny lures, and even float fished lobworms in my local canal! One way to keep the river for yourself, are you out again on Sunday.....? 🤣
Great video - I've lived in York for ages and always wanted to have a go on the Foss but I never know where to start. Are there any stretches you'd recommend? Is there any easy access point to get on the bank? When I drive through the centre, there's always a huge drop from the railings and I never know how to get on the bank! Thanks so much :)
If there small pike are present you can bet some big girls eating them. You probably need to change approach to combat the weed or find clearer areas bridges etc weedless rigged shad or shallow spinner over the weed will work well

It would be much easier if the fish did comply! I am looking forward to these ones 'growing up' into some big'uns!
Lovely little vid mate, you should get on the dropshot with some worms, you will bag up on perch!
Thanks, that means rummaging for some dropshot kit in the back of the cupboard!
Good video friend , was just checking out your channel and i joined up,
Many thanks! Hope you enjoy the videos!

Thanks! As you say a lot has a big drop, you can fish it with a long landing net. But the most accessible part is from behind gooutdoor and upstream.
Hello do you still fish this river?
Where abouts on the foss is this?
Should be a few all along the Foss!
Usually happens to me, fish for perch and pike turn up!
Classic problem!
