The little astronaut helmet was adorable, hopefully with more grooming sessions he'll get use to it. More cat videos please, I enjoy seeing them with the happy hoodies and the helmet is just another interesting addition.
They should mold a handle into the top of that helmet!
That “astronaut” helmet is so cruel, why do you like that. I’m not even a vegan
@@Paradoxical124 How is it cruel? It protects the cat and the groomer, it allows the cat to turn inside (there were a couple of shots which show the groomer holding the helmet while Simba was able to turn his head inside), it's fully ventilated, and seethrough so it doesn't stress the cat out....
@@Paradoxical124 i wouldn’t say it’s cruel. it would be if it was kept on the cat for extremely long times, but just the short amount of time that the grooming process takes? not particularly cruel. it keeps both the cat and the groomer safer. a cat bite can be surprisingly harmful.
i don’t see how the astronaut helmet is cruel, considering the time it’s kept on the cat and how it protects the groomer from getting a potentially super harmful bite.

I told my aunt to start giving her new kitten regular baths to help mitigate my family's allergic reactions. Kitty hated it at first. My aunt had to bathe her with arm braces on. By the time the cat was an adult tho, she would actually sit in the tub and meow when she wanted a bath. We had hoped she would get used to it, but we never expected her to actually grow to *like* baths.

When my daughter was 3 I adopted a kitten at the local shelter that looked just like this beautiful guy. She named him MUDDY!! She said it was because it looked like he had been playing in the mud. ❤ Muddy was the most loving, docile, friendly playmate for her. I could bathe him and blow dry him with no issues at all. Definitely the most patient cat I've ever met, she even liked the hair dryer! Lived to 18 and it's not a stretch to say she helped my parents raise my brothers and I, even disciplined us with a clawless swat lol
That's such a sweet story. RIP Mai.
Aww so heart warming! Rest in peace Mai

She sounds wonderful, what a lovely memory to have!
Didn't grow up with cats in a significant degree until probably...8, but we did have a cat that rarely slept in the crib with me, though that was discouraged by my grandmother and great grandmother because...silly cat superstitions about smothering babies.
Then again, in my experience, our cats we've had generally don't like babies, but they've also not really been socialized to them from an early age, so they just hiss at them and then run away usually.
Cat: hissing, scratching, attacking
Me: what a good baby 🥺
Bless you for being willing to take on the challenging cases that other groomers would turn down. If it weren’t for groomers like you pets would be stuck in a terrible ungroomed state. There just aren’t enough groomers like you.

Cats are stunning little monsters though. Freaking adorable murder machines.😃
As a long time cat owner i've gotta say, he's actually a surprisingly well behaved cat. The swatting is very mild and just his way of saying "I don't like this", basically a mildly more violent form of a huskies song to their people. I'd call him a mild spice! Very beautiful kitty
I agree. My cat isn’t usually an aggressive cat but she’d be on the ceiling if anyone tried to get anywhere near her with the water 😂 and the person trying to do it would be skinned alive!

That timy astronaut helmet absolutely sent me rolf
Reminds me, almost, of my grandma’s cat. He was sold off after my grandma died,, but I still remember him. Ironically, his name was Halo.
He wouldn’t even let anybody touch him. If you were to touch him even while he’s eating a treat he would make you bleed without hesitation. Terrifying, but I remember being patient and managing to “tame” him after a few years… well, I only visited twice a year for a week each but still
Since he's never been groomed before at the age of 9, it is completely understandable that he doesn't appreciate it. A middle-aged cat is set in his ways and might be skeptical to new things in general.
Yeah, makes me think we'd have to do something ourselves with the oldest cat who's got some matting on her rear area in front of her tail (likely because she doesn't want to groom)
And we had to take her to the vet in late 2020 because she was getting too fat to groom her butt properly and got a UTI. Had a red inflamed shaved butt area for a few weeks after, but she seems okay (cats are infamous for being able to hide pain, though)
Folks say the same about me....
"A bleeding hand means that the groom is over" 😅
I bet you are a saint for that cat owners.
She should wear thick gloves next time.
Hey, he's calmer than most cats I've known.
Simba is incredibly scared, that's why he's acting like this. Cats always act out because of fear, not because they're evil
"Cats have a time limit"

"Stunning little monster" sounds like something I'd say about my children. 😂

This woman is SO good at her job because she knows how important her every move is to the emotional health of the pet she’s working on. You can just tell she knows what she’s doing. I respect her so much.
If you end up doing a lot of cats, a grooming bag is a worthy investment! It allows you to deal with one foot at a time instead of contending with all the murder mittens at once, lol. We used them for particularly difficult cats when I did grooming in high school.
I think you both did pretty well, all things considered. He's beautiful.
Love the astronaut helmet, it's actually a brilliant invention! It's really hard to restrain cats from biting because they can whip their heads around and bend in crazy ways to get at something behind their backs.

He's a really pretty cat. The color pattern from his parentage is really gorgeous! Gotta watch for that spice.
The color pattern has absolutely nothing to do with genetics. The color patterns on Siamese cats is caused by temperature changes shortly after birth. They are actually born one color. And as their extremities cool, they become darker. This is why their tails, paws and faces are darker than the rest of their body. If you were to make it uncomfortably cool after the birth of Siamese kittens, you could, in theory, get a Siamese cat that is mostly dark. As if that wouldn't be cruel enough, you could take an extra cruel step further and actually give them specific shapes. You could, for instance, use ice cubes and actually make a spotted Siamese cat. Or you could freeze a piece of steel that is in the shape of a star, and give it a star pattern. Again, that would be very cruel though.
@@danielduncan6806 this is absolutely fascinating. TIL!
@@danielduncan6806 Hmmm. Interesting. But I always looked at patterns as odd birthmarks. Because they're always different. Birthmarks that are determined by environment. But that's not what I was talking about. I was talking about parentage based on two breeds. Meaning the whole appearance of the cat. We have one part Siamese and one part Himalayan. I never said the pattern had to do with the parenting. I was referring to the pattern overall as a beautiful coloring.
@@danielduncan6806 Internet searches are telling me that is not true. Yes they are born all white but get their darker hues around 1 week. Yes, their fur can change color slightly due the temperatures seasonally but their markings are determined by genetics.
@@GoodPersonTestWebsite "The pointed pattern is a form of partial albinism, resulting from a mutation in tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in melanin production. The mutated tyrosinase enzyme is heat-sensitive; it fails to work at normal body temperatures, but becomes active in cooler (< 33 °C) areas of the skin.[12] This results in dark colouration in the coolest parts of the cat's body, including the extremities and the face, which is cooled by the passage of air through the sinuses. All Siamese kittens, although pure cream or white at birth, develop visible points in the first few months of life in colder parts of their body." - Wikipedia

My creme point Himalayan was the same way - a BEAST when it came to grooming. I couldn't brush him no matter what I tried. If I was lucky I'd get about 2 minutes of combing before the swatting and biting would start. I guess I failed as a cat mom because when he was little he didn't mat up and I only would brush him for the few minutes he tolerated it. As he got on later in years he had to be sedated and shaved a few times. I lost my boy to cancer at 15 and even though he hated grooming he was the sweetest lil thing. I still miss that fluffball.
