For a few years I have been searching UA-cam for a very contemporary arrangement of this piece we performed when I was in college to post on my FB page for Independence Day. I have yet to find it. Your composition gets that spot until I find it, and maybe even if I find it. Thank you for this.

What the world doesn't see is that most of the time America really is like this.
Nothing has moved me in tears as much as this. With the imagery and the beautiful choir voices, it makes me feel proud of the good things in America.

***** We need another thousand Hillsdale campuses around the country. We are losing sight of what made this country great, and it is very sad to watch it happening in real time. But there is still hope.
This is why I will hang my American flag out tomorrow. Not for the Washington politicians, not for the rich, powerful and celebrities, but for the ordinary USA citizens, the grassroots hardworking, responsible and family loving Americans who have made our USA - our home - great. Thanks, Michael. I am a veteran too and that is a large reason for my loving our country. More so, this country is so beautiful with its abundance of forests, mountains, plains, rivers, lakes, wild life and natural flora. And about ninety percent of our citizens are the 'ordinary' people who are still good, responsible, and patriotic, I believe. For you and me and millions of others like us who believe in our national heritage and ideals, this love of our country still sustains us..

Awestruck... the words are moving, convicting, reassuring, the harmonizing voices are unhurried and feeling, the pictures...aaahhh the pictures. How blessed we are, even during this dire hour.

I love this song, I HATE this arrangement!!! 3:35 - "Till selfish gain no longer stain The banner of the free!" - that is NOT in the original, it's a "social justice" message that has no place in a patriotic hymn, and certainly deserves no emphasis. I support Hillsdale, you need to fix this video with the traditional arrangement.

50calBeowulf Yes. Thank you for the missing verse. Independence Day is one of my favorite American holidays. I reflect on what the founders fought for and imagine what they might think of what has become of America since its' founding. All the inventions. Abolishing slavery. The wars that have been fought on behalf of others who needed our help. And sadly the latest assaults on religious freedom. This country has been through a lot, and I am always amazed at our storied history. We live in a great republic....if we can keep it.

This has encouraged me and stirred my heart in a profoundly moving way. I tear up every time I watch/listen to it. I think I am up to 30 views now. Absolutely amazing!!!

I shared this video every single day during the capital riots because it was so beautiful and reminded me of what this country used to be. The choir sounds like angels. It made me think have we forgotten who we really are. I cry everytime I listen to this. So incredibly beautiful.

Beautiful! America, there is no other country quite like her. For over 200 years she has stood out like a beacon offering people hope. She has fought many wars and won, yet we are fighting another war today and she seems to be losing. Yet I believe that because of the prayers of those who love her, love the God of the Bible, she WILL continue to offer hope to those who come to her shores legally. Men and women have given everything to maintain the freedom, the values and the hope that she gives. It is my prayer that God will bless Hillsdale College and that God will pull us (America) together again under His wing and we will sing the Hallelujah chorus again.
