Thanks, Yeah it's solid! My other PS4 PRO vid from last year I shouted you out about that technique. Think you used enameled wire to web it across the missing anchor point.
Me again 👋 Just had a PS4 Pro in today for the same repair. Used this method and was very happy with the result. Much stronger hold to the board than i was expecting. Another excellent video, keep it up mate!
Nice job. I like the rock solid braid anchor technique. Thought you were using a grinder pen, but seeing from your replies below its a fibre glass pen. Thanks for sharing
Yeah the fibreglass pen isn't fun to use! You'll fine sharp shards in your skin days later annoyigng you, but they do make nice work. If that makes sense!?
Hello, i watched you video. It come across my suggestions to watch. Nice explained. But one question came to my mind: witch brand and model gloves do you use in this video? I am planning to deep cleaning my ps4. I know you posted it 2 years ago but i hope to hear from you😊
Awesome job there. I've just ripped the connector off even being careful but still. Need a lot more practise soldering to get as good as this. Well done. The use of that UV conformal coating is a great addition compared with some other repairs I watched. What heat setting do you use?
Hello! Thanks for video. About to attempt this repair right now and I've only done a couple repairs before. What gauge of copper wire are you using to remake the traces? I have some that is 30AWG and 155°C.
There are points on the other side of the board. Might be worth asking on the Facebook group: Console Repair Legion. I don’t have a board handy to help right now
It's not 100% necessary, no. Specually in this case where the ancorpoint will take all the load. I use it for protecting the bare wires. If there are weak solder joints it can be handy to help keep them planted, specially on a connector that is used daily.
that's the nicest repair i have ever watched... better than, "better than factory" - well played, subbed.
Thank you.
Good stuff mate. Good to see my braid technique is getting around lol. It really does create a solid anchor point for the connector
Thanks, Yeah it's solid! My other PS4 PRO vid from last year I shouted you out about that technique. Think you used enameled wire to web it across the missing anchor point.
Can you leave a description of the items used in the video like the tools and compounds. Thanks
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you for the tip, much appreciated!
This is my first diy electronics fix, thanks for being so detailed! Wish me luck lol
howd it go?
This video really helped, I'll be able to resolder the 4 pin connection that I accidentally ripped out.
Glad it heped!

Another good one, always interesting to see different approaches!
Thank you! I'll be playing some of your vid's tomorrow while working... You'll be earning those sweet, sweet YT pennies this week! 😜

beautiful work. Very nicely done
Thank you, appreciate it!
How thick must the wire be to reconstruct the trace in complete safety?
Is it possible to take these wires from domestic use power cord?
Awesome job there.

Thank you. I use 380c on the soldering iron.
What is the pen tool you are using with the flux in it to expose the copper at 05:59??
Hi, it's a fibre glass pen. Here you go amzn.to/3Kt46fu
Super work!! well done!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Good video mate 👍🏻
Thanks!
awesome work
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey at 9:49 can you just use solder wire to ground it or does it have to be something else?
Can be any type of wire.. Just need to make a connection and not touch anything else. 👍
@@UberMicroRepairs Ight thanks mate
I JUST LOVED YOUR REPAIR PROCESS. WHAT KIND OF WIRE DID YOU USE??? GREETINGS FROM MEXICO
Thank you for watching We appreciate it! It is 0.1mm enammled wire
Dumb idea could you just connect the 3pin fan connector to some type of universal power supply for a 3 pin and just turn that on when u game or no?
No!
what is the fluid you frequently use that you later brush, whats its purpose
Hi, It's Isopropyl Alcohol - Lab Grade 99.9% amzn.to/3skNYom it cleans and dissolves the flux from soldering.
What are you adding at 13:55?
And what kind of flux do you use? Thanks
UV conformal coating to kee the wires planted and protected. Also it's KingBo RMA flux.
Hello! Thanks for video. About to attempt this repair right now and I've only done a couple repairs before. What gauge of copper wire are you using to remake the traces? I have some that is 30AWG and 155°C.
Hi, 30AWG will be perfectly fine to do this repair. I use some 0.01mm trace wire I have around.
Fantastic!
Glad you like it!
What gauge wire did you use for the pin pad connection
It's 0.10mm
What did you use to expose the copper on the vias? Difficult to tell at fast forward speed!

Hello, by any chance do you know what would be an alternative fix in case the two smaller pins are completely off (nowhere to solder to)?
There are points on the other side of the board. Might be worth asking on the Facebook group: Console Repair Legion. I don’t have a board handy to help right now
@@UberMicroRepairs Thank you so much!
Did you find out
great video question do you know the connector part number because I lost mine and I can't find it
No, sorry.
There are a lot of videos in UA-cam. I'm going do it your way. Wish me luck 🤞
Good luck let us know how you got on?

@@UberMicroRepairs thanks for getting back to me 😊
I can't believe how easy it is to damage this when removing the power supply. 😢. Just happened to me.
Good job 👍

Haha, Didn't know he say's that, I don't watch his stuff. I thought I'd grab the chance to trigger the thermal compound snobs out there.
