I found it can work with a cracked PCB as well. It makes for a pretty good extra wide trace like used for power or ground.

For destroyed anchor points or to repair large tracks, I use spot welder soldering tabs for Li-ion batteries. They are much thinner than the wick and the connector sits flush with the board.

Smashing idea, I've been using the thinnest Kynar wire I could get, crushing it a bit if necessary, and keeping it in place with UV solder mask, though obviously this is for fine-pitch legs on chips and the like. That sounds like a great idea for the larger stuff.

Those ps4 power connectors break off the board far to easy to be honest. I had my brothers PS4 in for a complete strip down and deep clean a few months ago. When i was very gently trying to remove the power cable from the connector, the connector just came straight off the board ( and took 3 of the trace pads with it ). With carrying out the same type of repair your doing here. Alex. I got his console all fully back up and working for him.

because it is not meant to be disconnected from the board side , you have to disconnect it from the PSU side and leave the cable attached to the board

Still worth it. Knowing you are having an otherwise-working PS4 fixed is worth that price honestly. You could buy a new(used) one for $250-350 off eBay...but you don't know what other issues it may have under the hood.
Anybody checked what PS4's are going for these days? holy MOLY. Hold onto what you've got and take care of it, guys and gals.
I just thoroughly cleaned/dusted, replaced CMOS battery and repasted my PS4 Pro in hopes of keeping it running for a good long time. Electronics like this are becoming more and more valuable as inflation/chip shortage/production issues continue.
