This is how I remember Mr. McEnroe even though I just saw him on the 2012 Summer Olympics tonight playing volleyball with the volley ball team. He is entertaining.

Nah. His anger didnt meep him from winning. Better players and equipment did. Think about who he played against: Becker, Edberg, Wilander, Sampras, Andre, Lendel...some of the greatest to ever play. That with style change to power and equipment changes? He is lucky he won 7. And if not for his great skill and hands, he wouldnt have. A genius at tennis, but also came up in one of the most competetive eras.

However, the bottom line is that Johnny Mac is one of the best tennis players of all time, and arguably had the best precision and touch ever. It's a laugh to watch, but he seems to come across as a decent guy if you look beyond the tantrums he had back then. He was a character, and I'm he has a big sense of humour about it all whenever he thinks back. It's what got him to stick around the tennis spotlight after his playing career anyway, not just his talent alone.
