John Mcenroe made his mark as a bad boy but he was certainly fair most of the time despite his seeminly unsportsmanlike behavior. He was fun to watch and we couldn't wait to see what he might do next. He's a tennis commentator today, maybe in part due to those angry outbursts that brought him so much notoriety. I think he drew such large crowds because fans expected to see him play great tennis as well as potentially explode. He was the human equivalent of a NASCAR wreck waiting to happen.

Slow the video down to 0:25 speed you can easily see the ball catches the line. Not sure what the people on here saying it was clearly out are talking about, the whole ball has to be over the line for it to be out. It's a pretty straight forward call

4 year old comment and no one told you that the serve you are talking about is not the one John went ballistic over. lmao who in the comment section is talking about that serve?

John had nothing but passion for he game, you dont win 77 titles by being half assed, and I actually thought he was gonna topple the umpire off of that chair...!

  • @Zorg2006

McEnroe only ever got angry when he was playing poorly or starting to lose his grip on a match. His response - blame the umpire. The true greats' response - go up another gear.
