My experience (for 1 year) with these entry level phone coolers, during extreme hot days or the time of a day where the temperature is absolutely at its peak it can maintain/sustain around 40-41 degree Celsius, making possible just not to thermal throttle.
But when the environmental temperature already down like at night or morning or during the colder seasons it can greatly reduce the device's temperature around 37 degree Celsius.
(Note. Temperature which I have mentioned above are all during the extreme gaming sessions)
I will suggest you guys to go with more expensive phone cooler which has metal pad in it not just a regular fan. Phone cooler I use is with just a fan. I know it works good enough but not so good during extreme hot days.

If you're a gamer..and you wanna game in hours, not minutes, then I say use it. Anything to help a phone cool down during some Genshin Impact is gonna make you happy lol.

Great video, one suggestion, maybe next time add graphs for better visibility of results?
If you put the cooler above the camera bump the cooler doesn't touch the back of the phone and you are losing cooling performance and if you cut a sheet of aluminum and use a thin thermal pad or a double sided tape and put the cooler above it will cool the phone way better and you will see stable performance of that phone or use a magnetic cooler that comes with a thin metal sheet that sticks to the back of the phone and put the metal sheet on top of the hotspot then the performance of the phone will be way better

Very good test, wonderful Xperia 1 IV ( what a shame that there is an 8gen1 in it 😢 ) unique phone
Try playing genshin impact Max graphicsax fps, Inazuma region (probably Yashoiri island or Inazuma city is the best choice to test it) or Dragonspine or the Chasm and see whether the cooler makes a difference

Thanks for the video - literally JUST starting looking at these. I was also wondering if (for example) I simply laid my phone one of my computer fans it would do the same (for overnight charging) I will test, but wondered if anyone knows? Really just considering that method because my small computer fans are very sleek and will look better on my nightstands.

YUP, I HAD A SONY XPERIA Z1 WHICH WAS LIKE A DOSA KALLU (DOSA STONE) THAT GETS SO HOT VERY EASY AND WE WON'T BE ABLE TO USE THE CAMERA WHEN IT IS HOT AND THE FUNNY PART IS THE PHONE GETS HEATED WHILE USING THE CAMERA APP ALSO. WE WERE EVEN TAUGHT ABOUT FRYING AN EGG ON ITS BACK ONCE . THAT WAS THE SENARIO . A COOLER AT THAT TIME WOULD HAVE MADE MY LIFE EASIER 😂
I like your videos a lot, there aren't any quality reviewers out there with knowledge into what they are talking.
But recently you are not posting a lot videos, there are so many new phone launches and you are covering them all.
And trying to find a proper phone review is some what difficult.
