@@mmonkeyman1403 I saw the race and the crash. I've broken a dozen bones in a decade of aggressive track days; thank goodness nothing so serious as to prevent me from returning to the track!
3:16 dude thats one really really important point. Broke my face in an accident i had end of fabruary. My GSXR 750 is gone since this day. Thanks to the successful operation my face looks pretty much like it did before. nose still a bit off center but im glad to be alive still after crashing with my face into the roof edge of the car. Hit it right with the visorpart. Visor fell off instead of being pushed right into my face.
Your car helmet is very similar in shape to motorcycle helmets from the early 2000’s. My first helmet had no aero and it would kill my neck after long high speed rides. My head would wobble like crazy. When I got my first Arai 10 years later with aero devices on it, wow, what a difference in comfort. My head stayed still in the wind!
Car helmets are also aero but there aero optimise to limited degree of movement and some car hlemt are not aero at all cuz there inside the car cockpit
I'm also running the Arai GP-6S helmet, but in Endurance Karting, a great helmet, way beyond what I'm required to wear (basically any road bike helmet is the minimum standard), but you only get one head, so protect it as best you can.
Would have been interested to find out difference in shell thickness, padding thickness, visor thickness, make up of shell, penetration prevention measures of both helmets
4:45 I think the expression you're looking for is "out of the corner of your eye". Funnily enough, in Spanish it's "con el rabillo del ojo", quite similar to Italian from what I can guess from your comment :)
Great content. Loving these explanatory videos. By the way, does anyone know the answer to the following question. This would be a good topic, albeit in short form, for Alberto Naska to make a video on. Why racing motorbikes do not have rear view mirrors? I mean having mirrors is always an advantage as they indicate or warn you of potential riders in your vicinity and in terms of racing you'd be able to anticipate and defend against overtakes.
It's so that you focus on only what's in front of you - it's the rider behind's responsibility to pass safely, not your responsibility to get out of their way and make it easy for them (unless you've been shown a blue flag because you're being lapped, but that's why the flags exist - the marshals will communicate with you if necessary). Trying to defend from overtakes that you see in your mirrors (or even just watching your mirrors) would take your focus away from what's in front, and would lead to much more dangerous riding because people would be much less predictable. When you're focused on what's in front and riding as well as you can, you're predictable to other riders, and it's safer for everyone because you know (roughly) what someone is going to do at any given point. There's also the matter of weight saving and aerodynamics, and that mirrors would often be the first things to break if there's a crash. I hope that answers your question! I'm still slow, so I stand to be corrected, but this is what I understand and have been told by much faster riders about it.
Hey dude! Great informative chanel you got. I was wondering, last time I was watching motoGp i noticed on left forearm of Mark Marquez suit there is some kind of electronic device blinking green and I cant find on the internet what it is. Do you know what that is for?
Wanted to know if that means the motorcycle helmets does not have different density all around the head since there's no way to predict the impact location.
Sad to hear you can't ride motorcycles anymore. I hope the recovery goes well none the less! It seems like you're still having fun racing cards around :)
7:10 at 180km/h your helmet feels 0kg. I have AGV Sportmodular and they claim the same at 130km/h. If i ride faster then does the helmet pulls on your neck?
Cool vid! What about some aero elements I've seen on F1 helmets recently? My speculations that they're either serving a similar purpose with the bike ones to increase head mobility and comfort or to guide air into the intake.
It's always special when I get a new Arai motorcycle helmet and have been loyal to Arai since I could afford my own. People would always ask how I could pay a grand for a helmet and I always said that it protects the most important part of our body and I want the best. I would save for a long time but I have experienced how good they are multiple times. Unfortunately.
@@ingendukjennerv2198 yeah, I 've seen more videos and now I know, but now I want to know how much would cost to race I know a car in perfect conditions can be 10000€ but how much would it be to race one season

From Russia with love ✌🏻 I use GP6 helmet for riding my Super Duke on the streets in cold weather. Not so cold inside and small eye port is not a big deal when you riding upright
then good luck when you crash, cause autosports helmets are mostly designed for objects hitting the front while motorcycle helmets are designed for your head to hit something in a random oriantation ece testing for instance doesnt make a difference for thresholds for impacts at point B or point R (forehead or neck area)

Even with the halo in F1 it would be more fatal for the driver if there is rain as there is no wipers, it would be worse if the halo snapped and have the piece of halo metal slam into your helmet. I think the halo is a bad idea. At least on a bike you have none of that and have better protection, you do also have airbag vest technology that mobilizes the neck for riders too.
The car will break before the halo breaks. Halo is a great Idea , that's the reason why we still have Romain Grosgene , Charles Leclerc, and Lewis Hamilton are still alive

F1 is not using a zylon strip anymore top of the visor since 2020. Instead the made the eye opening less tall.
