- A group of us enjoying "La Strasbourgoise Cotillion" and "The Duchess of Devonshire's Reel" at 1811 Napoleonic Ball at the Château Marquette, Netherlands on the 26th November 2011.
I hope you enjoy watching the dances as much as we did dancing them
:-):-) :-)
Best Wishes
The Regency Era is one of my favourites. I loved the dances and the cloths especially the women’s dresses of that era. I’m also a fan of Regency Era antiques.
I think this is lovely I have only just started this so it's all very new to me how elegant these ladies and gents look.
Just beautiful the music was superb and the dancing oh to die for almost feel as if im actually there, in that period . rgds
I enjoy the symmetry and order of these dances. Very elegant. Thank you for uploading.
This was our first ball in the Netherlands, been to all subsequent balls with the exception of one. Looking forward to many more in the future
Very lovely everybody together!🌹👍
Almost identical to modern Scottish Country Dancing. Steps and figures the same.
So pleased to see most people wearing gloves.
beautifully!!!
Sowas schaue ich mir immer gerne an!
wonderful
i love it
I guess there were no men present who were in humor to give consequence to all of those young ladies being slighted by other men.
Really neat. God bless. Jesus loves you!
Thanks for sharing this! Could you please tell me where the first tune is from?
It’s something like the poka ,really nice love it , they never did line dancing did they, or a fast dance
Music by Beethoven
Too bad that the video could not have been shot from another angle, so as to not have the anachronistic audio speaker in sight. Once it is seen it can hardly be unseen.
This is early 1800’s style?
Why nobody wears a powedered wig?they still wear knee-breeches and silver buckle shoes....
