This is the one I was looking for! For my writing. I wanted my characters to do some kind of lined up dancing with clapping and didn't know what to call it. Very helpful. Thank you for uploading!
Some stii do. There are English Regency + Jane Austen style events in England, US, etc. One can contact websites of Jane Austen Society. Jane Austen House, Chawton House in UK, & Jane Austen Society of N America in US. Enjoy!! Good luck !!!
The interpretation of this dance is indeed from the 1970's and most audiences are familiar with that. Most dances of this time were danced in triple minor, but it makes it a little dull to display in this format, hence the duple minor interpretation. All our ladies are dressed in fashions taken from original patterns and fashion plates from the early 19th c.
Also in Mexico, C+ S America, Caribbean etc. as result of trade + colonial.invasion later free contacts between dancers on both sides of Atlantic. like Argentine tango, Cuban salsa, Brazilian samba going to N America + Europe, US rag time +swing music dances went to D America & to Europe, etc in exchange for waltz, mazurka, polka, schottische, galop, etc. + groups of couples-- country dances & Quadrilles & on & on !!

It's basically a Strathspey in period costume. So every country dance does these, albeit in modern clothes.
No wonder they needed dance masters!

What are the names of the last two dances in the video where she is teaching? And what are the music pieces to which they danced them?
Amazing!
That is the Simons 1970 reconstruction...
What music is used in the first dance and the third? If you could let me know that would be fantastic! Thanks!
The first piece is The Duke of Kent's Waltz (1802) the third is The Comical Fellow (1776) Both are available on commercial recordings.
So basically a Strathspey in period costume? Pretty clothes right enough.
Прекрасно!
