- JoJo Siwa came out earlier this year, and talked to Ellen about how she feels being considered a gay icon. The 18-year-old star also shared how it was her idea to have a same-sex partner to compete on "Dancing with the Stars," and chatted about her new show "Siwa's Dance Pop Revolution."

We knew from the start that JoJo was destined for great things, and thats exactly what she has done. She is such an incredible person, and one of the best role models kids today could have. I love seeing how truly happy she looks now.

JoJo has come along way since the first time I saw her on AUDC and Dance Moms!
Representation is everything. My daughter who is now 9 had previously said she was like Ellen (didn’t really understand what that stood at the time, thought it was artistic and funny) and when Jojo cane out she said she was like Jojo and they were both like Ellen. Thank you ladies for representing who and how my daughter wants to be or feels she is. 🌈 👧🏻 👧🏻
