That weld is definitely cracked on the toe. Liquid penetrant would show the extent. There is a lot of stress concentrated on that that bit. The paint seems to be cracking due to excessive stress on the metal

Seeing that old tractor from the 40s reminds me of when my grandad, who farmed at Blackmore in Essex, bout some black market tires for his tractor. He became so worried about being found out that he dumped the tires in the village pond. He was a real worrier, which might have contributed to his dying of a heart attach before he even made 50. My dad died of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma aged 72, which we suspect was bought on by the chemicals farmers used back then (organophosphates and dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane, aka DDT). Take care of your health if you are farming today, or you might not see your grand children grow up.

Don’t know if this will be any good for you but I have a small tip for your concrete floors (for future). We have always kept a small step (10-20mm) between internal and external slabs. External being the lowest of course and the shutters always land on the external slab level. The idea behind it is that when you have heavy rain and strong winds, no water gets in the shed under the shutters. The rubber seals work of course, but if the floor level is not very good in doorway or seal gets damaged, the water will find its way in to the grain shed and flood the floor.

You can definitely see that weld coming away @10:53. With that much flex that is absolutely going fail eventually. Going over the weld is not going to keep it fixed unless you work out some triangulation to prevent the flex.

You’re going to need a second pit Tom. 😂 I didn’t like the way the bracket the ram is attached to flexed at the weld. You mite need a brace in there before it breaks.
That weld is starting to crack. Doesnt look like enough penetration when it was first welded. Probably welded too fast with not enough amps.looks good on the surface but no strength
Very Ed China. They're my fav, too. If I got quite the same. Quite tough and good when the world gets messy. You can tell what's you and what isn't, plus a good texture and tactility (if that's a word). They don't stretch as much as others as hands get wet, but you sort of forget they're on, until you look.
Blimey Tom. How many acres do you farm? It's must be thousands to produce enough grain to fill two sheds that size.
