Prior to buying this, Denali, I owned two traverses and they were both pretty good cars. I treated in my last reverse for this Denali because of the added trim level and overall quality of its appearance. I waited about four months for the car to arrive and it drives quite while. I am very disappointed in the engine noise, particularly at heavy acceleration. It sounds almost as if it has a motorcycle engine in it. My traverses were much quieter. Once up the cruising speed, the car performs very well and has a lot of cool features, but I would not buy another one because of the engine noise. I think General Motors could have done a much better job of insulating the noise from the cabin. my car has an active noise management system, which may not be working well, but the dealer says they have no way of testing it. I am a hard-core by American guy and I’ve always bought General Motors product and most of the time very satisfied. I think this will be my last GM product. I was surprised to find out then unless you activate the OnStar system you don’t get all the functionality of CarPlay. It requires a subscription. Even though the new car comes with a three year subscription plan free of charge I feel that we are being held hostage. I find myself not using, their OnStar system I much prefer just using my Apple iPhone. If you were considering buying this car, please take it for a long ride and check out the engine noise.😢
@Car Confections you need to address the greed factor these auto companies are starting to embrace with their "pay-to-play" features. I have been a loyal GM customer for over 30 years. I, for one, will be looking for an alternative to GM next time because I am not interested in a monthly bill in order to use the features of the vehicle I already paid for. It may prove impossible to purchase a new auto without, in which case, I will be actively searching the used market for a suitable older vehicle and i will happily do whatever I need to maintain it. The thought of purchasing a $60,000 auto and then having to pay a fee to use it's installed options is just one step too far in my book and I am certain there are many who agree with me. Not that the auto makers will care.....
I like that you guys spend time showing the headlights and taillights with the turn signals and brake lights. Incandescent bulbs are a deal breaker for me as they instantly feel outdated and entry level so it's great that you highlight the LED features!

What's the point of making a big family vehicle without the option of a bench seat? Its stupid decisions like this that annoys me with a lot of modern vehicles. They focus more on luxury and gimmicky features than hauling actual people, lol.
I can agree more with you. I'm aware that Captain seats are for a certain clientele, but I'd rather have my extra seat and not using it at all than not having it and needing it. I'm looking in the market for a family suv, this doesn't qualify already. Bummer!!
The point is it gives you greater access to the third row and provides a more up scale ride for second row people. While it does make seating for small kids less accommodating. It makes seating children in the 3rd row much easier.
@JAKtheRipper333 My point is thats stupid and less practical for this class of vehicle, especially considering they brought the Acadia back to its larger size but chose not to offer the same amount of seating as the original. 🤷🏾♂️ The fact that NO bench is offered on any trim is a step backwards imo.
It would be interesting if you did TWO "sound readings" on your next vehicle, one with the moonroof shade open AND another with it closed, to see the difference ( I know your camera would have to be "unstuck" from the bottom of the moonroof for that test ) I've had several GM vehicles over the years, and I've always noticed a difference with the shade closed - including my CT6, Enclave and current Envision. Great review, as usual - I've been thinking about a Yukon, but now that the Acadia is a little larger, I'm thinking more about buying one. ( I just wish GM wouldn't make these nice wheels ONLY available in a package - I like these new wheels, but I don't want to pay for super cruise, when I'd never use it ).
The 2024 GMC Acadia needs a 40/20/40 second row bench seating and the 2.7 Turbo Engine found in the Canyon and Chevy Colorado pickup trucks. These changes would reduce engine & parts inventories and production costs. These type of vehicles do not need paddle shifters which would reduce manufacturing costs. I would like to see more of the Elevation Trim having 18 inch wheels especially since most Roads in the Northeast US are horrible. Great Show!
Been waiting for your review on this one. I had almost purchased a lexus tx350 but waited to drive the acadia denali first. I ended up ordering the same car in your video just in steerling gray. I felt the lexus rode a bit smoother but overall liked the acadia better. The power as compared to the lexus turbo 4 cyl the acadia felt better. The interior of the acadia just has more usable space and works better with a family that has small children and car seats. Very hard thing to know without trying it yourself but numbers aside a rear facing carseat fits better in the acadia than a tx, leaving more leg room in the front seats. This is mostly due to the front seat back design/curvature that does not really affect the leg room but rear facing car seats. I also feel that if you are a larger person the seats in the acadia are roomier and more comfortable. Aside from styling preferences the only place I think the TX has the acadia beat on the interior is the third row which is the best one that Ive seen in its segmant by far but just not the most important thing to my family. Your guys reviews definitely played a big part in my vehicle choice. Thank you for all your videos!
If it didn’t have this awful 4 cylinder, I would be interested in it. GM has never built a good 4 cylinder. This won’t be any different. Unfortunately. The rest of the vehicle I love though.
Man i really hope the quality and reliability of these vehicles go up. For far too long they’ve been looked down on and now it seems Gm in general across all their lines and brands are actually trying to make something note worthy.
maybe you can answer this question. with the super cruise , I was told you pay around $3400 for it and then after 3 years you have to pay for it monthly to use it and its features
What would you choose Vw Atlas, Chevrolet Travers, Gms Arcadia or wait for GH it's not clear how long ? And if so, why did you choose it? Thank you very much for your reviews!
In your opinion if was buying a vehicle tomorrow would you go with the acadia denali or the acura mdx advance package? I would love if you could do the comparison of the two especially since you referenced the mdx a couple of times in the video.
That would be an interesting comparison... Maybe we will do that soon! The main consideration would be how much space you need and if you want a V-6 or not.
The MDX will be bigger and the drive is more "fun" with the 6cyl. I'd join the MDX page however because there are some known issues like the white paint chipping😢 and it will not be as roomy as this GMC @@jM-oq9iq
Fully loaded Acadia Denali or the fully loaded Chevy Traverse RS, for your money what would you choose? Only differences I could see was the HUD and higher quality interior but is that worth the $7k price difference for the GMC?
@@braxtonpoole614 agreed, but is it worth the extra $7k that's what I'm battling with...and honestly the exterior of the RS is WAAAY better looking to my eye, and the screens being horizontal vs vertical I like a lot more too. The Acadia overall is more of a premium car as is GMC as a whole. Things like ride quality, noise insulation and use of materials is where the difference is.
This was the review I was waiting for! You guys are always the most thorough. Are the interior materials significantly better than in the new Traverse? It sure looks it but I haven’t had the chance to see either yet because no dealers around here can keep them more than a day at this point
I'm sorry but for such a large vehicle now. They should have definitely kept the V6. I'm also not a fan of the column shifter stalk. That went away in the mid to late 90's. Why bring it back again after folks have gotten used to console shifters and dials. A console dial would have been a lot more classy and less cluttered looking. And much less confusing for folks to use. Otherwise, it's a beautiful SUV but the engine is the deal breaker for me.
Well there are a lot of considerations. The biggest two things you should check for are: 1) if you prefer the smooth power delivery of the Palisades V-6 over the more-powerful-but-noisy turbo 4-cylinder in the Acadia. 2) How much max cargo space you think you'll need because the Acadia is as big as it gets in this segment of SUV. It is nice looking and I appreciate it is not a total Walmart dumpster pile for the interior. It does feel like the most appliance NPC car ever made, but the interior is decent. I like how they used other materials besides piano black plastic which is the worst material car manufacturers can put in their cars.
Always enjoy your videos! Those headlights look weird though. I will say...I do appreciate GM putting the headlights in the correct place. Most of their vehicles of late...isn't the case and looks idiotic.
GM give your customers different engine options not just one. They could have used the 3.0 L Duramax Diesel Turbo as a engine option if they were worried about gas mileage, let the customer choose if the want V-6 and V-8 engine.Save those weak 4 banger engines for the compact cars and compact suvs, and even then still give the customer the option for more powerful engines, one size engine doesn't fit all.🤦♂️
Who desided that chrome is luxurious, when the American car industry will remove chrome parts from the high trim configurations, well, or give a choice. I would like to buy GMC Acadia Denali, but I will refuse to buy only chrome parts.
I'm so disappointed in GM for the engine they put in the new Acadia & Traverse. My wife and I test drove one 2 days ago for her next SUV. We were so unhappy. It's very underpowered and works way to hard going up just slight hills. Should have stuck with the naturally aspirated V6. I mean, the Yukon, which is not much bigger now, has a V8! The interior is nice and we were pleased with everything except the engine. Shame!
The interior could have been really nice, but the vertical placement of the center is incongruous to the wide layout. Also, the engine sounds really anemic.
At the rate with Toyotas new engines literally blowing themselves up and the grand highlander having electrical issues this GMC is the way to go. Uses the new highly marked 2.5L and a bulletproof 8 speed wrapped with a nice design and interior not made of plastic makes this great.
This is what I want to know. I have a cx9 now but the lease will be up soon and I would like a bit more space in each row. The cx90 really crams the 3rd row in there.
What's the point of buying an expensive GMC "truck" if it's just a grocery getter and rug rat carrier? They still build minivans somewhere, don't they? The Chevy Tahoe still offers a legitimate V8, and diesel, for doing truck stuff; such as carrying 10 fifty pound bags of Michigan peat home from the garden enter, or filling it up with all the necessary acoutrements for that back woods hunting or fishing trip with four of your buddies. I couldn't watch any further than the four cylinders expose. Not the bros' fault. The vehicle is an embrassment to GM trucks. Sometimes, you can't shine s**t. It was pretty, though, in a makeup, perfume, and lipstick kind of way.
Buyer beware of 3rd row seats! Headrests are electric on Denali trim and are junk! They are failing right and left… no parts available per dealer. Seats won’t fold down and get stuck on 2nd row seats. My left seat motor is shot! Seat is stuck down. This is a real issue.
I can't believe it's 2024 and folks still don't understand trim-level pricing on vehicle tiers. I just popped onto the BMW website and built an X5 with all-wheel drive, leather interior, and the executive package and it quoted me $78,225. Sure, if you want an entry-level X5 that is NOT all-wheel drive, DOESN'T have leather, and DOESN'T have the majority of tech this Denali trim Acadia has, you can get it for $65K, but then it becomes about badge loyalty more than vehicle value. If at the end of the day you just have to have the BMW, then I get it, but to toss your comment on here as if a similarly spec'd X5 is only $65K is misleading and a laughably poor argument as to why not to purchase this vehicle.
I sat in a new one last week. The bump on the floor where your left foot goes was a deal breaker for me. I'm 6'2" and my left leg couldn't stretch out due to the bump, if it wasn't for that I may have bought it. We found and ended up buying a used 2022 Buick Enclave Premium since it had more leg room. Hope the Enclave doesn't give me too many problems. I bought an extended warranty with it from Carmax - crossing my fingers on this one. Looks like they found the smallest guy they could for the video.
I know someone who has a 2019 or something. They said they put 4 grand into it being it was t-boned. They have had replacement vehicles while it has been in the garage. They have had a lot of transmission problems.
Chevy killed the High Country Traverse to up the sales for this.. I don't like this truck.. The Buick Enclave is slotted above this and I believe it's the best of the trifecta.

It is nice looking and I appreciate it is not a total Walmart dumpster pile for the interior. It does feel like the most appliance NPC car ever made, but the interior is decent. I like how they used other materials besides piano black plastic which is the worst material car manufacturers can put in their cars.
I wonder how this Acadia has the grey interior, that doesn't seem to be an option anywhere else....its wither white or black on the Denali
Looks nice but not feeling the big black berry screen
Always enjoy your videos! Those headlights look weird though. I will say...I do appreciate GM putting the headlights in the correct place. Most of their vehicles of late...isn't the case and looks idiotic.
Thanks!
Great review as always. Second row Captains chair only is a deal breaker for me. I need & like a second row bench.
No v6 is a huge miss. If they were going a 4cyl, they should have used a hybrid system
I should get mine in Downpour Metallic with Sheer interior with Denali Reserve package
I can't afford one of these. I'm only making 15.50 an hour
Very good car 💯✅💪🏿🇺🇸❤️
Was thinking about a new Acadia since our 2017 has been a good vehicle, but not buying a 4 cyl turbo Acadia.
Why not? Have you looked at the Honda Pilot? I am looking at both
Nice Luxury Traverse!
Bench seats would be a great fit for big families :)
THANKSSSSSS
This is it❤
That 4 banger is kind of a deal breaker I mean dam don’t want my engine struggling!
I agree and the MPG is not good, the should have paired the 3.0 Duramax with it
Acadia has always failed the crash tests. Not sure how they market it as a “family” suv when it crashes poorly
keep up the good work love you guys🫶🏻❤
Any undercarriage review or video??
Will Cadillac be making their version of this?
As it stands, probably not. They instead are going to do an electric three row (Vistiq).
Nope, something that big needs a v6.
Yeah twin turbo not as reliable either.
There is a redesigned 2025 Buick Enclave coming summer of 2024
I'm so disappointed in GM for the engine they put in the new Acadia & Traverse.
Kap
Which Toyota engines are blowing up?
@@Zeek509the V6Force and 2.5
GM will be worse.
I like it, not the 4cyl tho, no go.
That vehicle is 2024 so it should have been available late 2023. Is beautiful, though.
Big with a tiny engine with a turbocharger do you really think this engine will last very long they should offer a v6 option
Terrible for families with kids, not enough storage or cup holders, Looking at the Grand Highlander to upgrade from our Palisade.
This or the cx90?
2024 TRAVERSE RS looks way better. This car reminds me of something I would see in a Statefarm commercial
Buyer beware of 3rd row seats! Headrests are electric on Denali trim and are junk! They are failing right and left… no parts available per dealer. Seats won’t fold down and get stuck on 2nd row seats. My left seat motor is shot! Seat is stuck down. This is a real issue.
This or the 2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
Looks like a telluride with gmc grill
65k. This makes the X5 look like a steal.
This engine that sounds like it struggles under strain will pull a 5000lb boat without screaming?
That huge SUV with 4 cylinder?
I test drove it. Great!!
The side profile is ungainly to look at because of how long the body is 😅!
looks nice, but i'm not sure about quality...
@Bri1220the old ones had minor issues. But this new engine is the proven one from the Colorado and it’s finally using the bulletproof 8 speed
I know someone who has a 2019 or something. They said they put 4 grand into it being it was t-boned. They have had replacement vehicles while it has been in the garage. They have had a lot of transmission problems.
@@chevyfan8428not the turbo 4 but the inline 6 is average
Shift to park issue on our 2019. HATE it!!!! Looking to upgrade.
@@djplonghead5403they were in an accident and now the car is messed up…. Thanks for sharing useless info
Denali Style
Chevy killed the High Country Traverse to up the sales for this.. I don't like this truck.. The Buick Enclave is slotted above this and I believe it's the best of the trifecta.
The new enclave has a very rich and upscale feeling. They are aiming for moms. Most of their buyer base are females.
@@djplonghead5403 When I was growing up, Buicks required a cane or a walker to be a driver...lol Times have changed!
@@DonnJames81 my grandma drives a 16 LaCrosse and I understand why. It is easy to get in and out of. Incredibly comfortable. Good v6 with good power. Quiet interior.
I think you do your viewers a disservice .this suv is an accident waiting to happen.i just got it two days ago and while I find the ride fantastic ,I also find the driving experience very bad and I have millions of whiles driving under my belt.i love my heated seats so on this suv you have to hit the seat emblem on the flat screen then another one pops up in the middle of the screen ,so you have to take your eyes off the road to find it then if you want to bring the heat back up to the max you have to hit it 4 more times and since its not a switch just a touch screen you have to look at that screen to keep hitting it(veryyyy bad design ,un safe)also I found when the sun comes in just right you can find these areas on the screen because you cant see anything on the screen.so as of the writing I would not buy this again.i also have a 2023 Sierra Denali .and that is totally different ,you would think if you buy a Denali you would get the same on each product you buy ,but you dont
I don’t like the turbo engine, prefer the natural V6
Is this bigger than the Grand Cherokee L?
Yes
I think engine noise is cool and al UNTIL you have a kid in the backseat who only wants to whisper and wanting to carry on a conversation with your passengers OR talking on the phone. Nothing worse than having to ask people to speak up or repeat themselves. I really don’t think “engine noise” should be as big a factor as you make it out to be.
Lost me at 4 cylinder.
All “genuine materials”, huh? 😜
I’ll never buy a vehicle with Google embedded in the MMI. And no rear sun shades is absolutely absurd in a $60,000 ride.
Leathertte. Geezus man it’s vinyl.
Be back ❤️🇺🇲🦾😇😊
