It even gave me goosebumps to see the master give a quick kick that only in slow motion showed that he stopped his foot a few inches from the student's face, if he hadn't stopped it would have been a straight knockout. Only a trained master at his age can have this precision kick.

He definitely shows that he knows what he is talking about.
Sean Connery was being trained in a range of martial arts for the movie Rising Sun.
He couldn't stand his trainer and kept on wisecracking to the guy. At one point the trainer was so sick and tired about all the "jokes" at his expense, that he broke Sean Connery's wrist.
The trainer was Steven Seagal and he was fired on the spot!
First off, what exactly is Van Damme a 'master' of?
Secondly, the Sean Connery movie was 'Never Say Never Again' (and Seagal wasn't fired....primarily because he wasn't 'hired' in the first place, per se'.....merely an on-site advisor )
he's teaching the wrong technique in this video... in fact what he is showing will get you head kicked and knocked out. you do NOT block a leg kick with your arm... you check it with your shin. if you block it with your arm, your opponent will fake the leg kick and go to the head. van damme has no idea what he is doing.... he's good at streching.
how old was Sean Connery for the movie Rising Sun he was not very fit of he's age he have a black belt for Karate but that was he's younger days so of couse whan a man come in and teach, how many hour dose he need to wasting his time by a repeat himself for one that do not take he's time serious he will have don the same so the mind can make some new joke about pain

I always thought very highly of him because he brought a new beauty to the art. I remember seeing those beautiful kicks he did in kickboxer which I'm not sure existed before him . His art has always been balletic which is why he's probably the most beautiful and graceful artist ive seen. Respect and admiration to you Jean Claude.

@@lloydkline1518 I can barely understand what you wrote... but what I did understand is completely wrong. van damme couldnt fight his way out of a wet paper bag.... like I said the technique he is demonstrating in this video would get him head kicked in seconds. neither he, nor bruce lee had any clue how to actually fight... they knew how to make movie fight scenes, and ridiculous ones at that.

seagal and norris over the years claimed to be able to beat this guy easily, and chuck can barely talk now and he is aging prematurely and nico is still figuring out if he wants to be american or not.........being hated for no reason makes van damme even more amazing than he has always been.....spirit of martial arts is protection and being humble and respecting others.....and training and being nice and great..........and van damme has the spirit of the martial arts......that s why i grew up with his movies........martial arts are not about beating others, and being the king of the hill....but about not letting the others beat you.............
